Quick! We have to kill the boy! http://www.hulu.com/watch/23438

I was 14 years old and having dinner at my grandparents house--- they lived on Abbott Road just 5 minutes from the Stadium, so it was always an event even if I wasn't attending the game. I remember my grandfather said I should turn off the radio but I refused because I was a masochist even then... and somewhere inside, I still BILLieved, as always. Anyway, my mother happened to be shopping with our cousins at the McKinley Mall and the sporting goods/hat store was showing the game on the big TV they had out front, which eventually attracted dozens of shoppers. I listened to the very end, but my mom watched the entire 4th quarter live with a bunch of strangers...

Selling of Bills Could Happen Even Sooner
Punch replied to LOVEMESOMEBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Ralph passed, many of the remembrances of him stated he voted against team relocation every time there was a vote--- I don't know if it's necesarily considered a matter of public record, but I'd imagine it would become public fairly quickly. -
BN: Despite feeding tube and constant pain, Kelly toughs it out
Punch replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thurman was on WGR this morning--- it should be available in the Audio Vault soon: howard @hsimon62 24m about to talk with @thurmanthomas about Jim Kelly and the sale of the #Bills on @WGR550 howard @hsimon62 16m Thurman on Jim Kelly: he's holding up great. should find out in next 2-3 weeks if cancer has shrunk howard @hsimon62 14m Thurman says he's optimistic #Bills will stay here long term. said Jim Kelly opened up to him about his plans but Thurman declined to... howard @hsimon62 14 mins get into specifics. said Jim has talked to Roger Goodell, Donald Trump and to his group too. So I guess that means Trump is not Kelly's guy howard @hsimon62 9 mins Thurman said he believes the trust is trying to get the best WNY based bid and are trying to sell to people with ties to WNY howard @hsimon62 8 mins said he and other former #BIlls who've been approached by different groups will prob let Kelly take the lead and support group he likes -
This isn't even remotely true. If the thesis of this article is that Watkins' only relies on his speed as a WR, then it's nonsensical tripe. He likely won't singlehandedly turn around the franchise's fortunes and he may even be a disappointment relative to his cost--- but he's far from a one-dimensional speedster.

Sammy Watkins on NFL Total Access
Punch replied to XXL Franchize's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was a little disappointed that the selfie he took with Goodell wasn't actually his idea--- the NFL came up with it and selected him as the player to take it. It was a cool moment because it seemed so unscripted--- naiveté on my part, I guess. Having said that, he's he the total package and represents the Bills well. It's hard not to love him. -

I mean, !@#$ Robert Kraft and the Patriot* Way, but... Lauren Brill @LaurenBrill4 2m Patriots owner Robert Kraft just told me he fully supports the Bills staying in Buffalo and will do everything he can to make that happen. -
If he thinks Colt is the best athlete in the country but still didn't draft/sign him, then I'd trust Kelly knows better than anyone in the NFL how legitimate the red flags are. If the red flags were overblown, Lyerla would be an Eagle.

And yet Chip Kelly didn't draft him or sign him.

Metrics analysis of the Bills picks and roster
Punch replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Explosive lower body strength, speed and dynamic speed metrics define a player's potential career arc? Those can be helpful as a part of determining future production, but those metrics alone don't make a lot of sense in realistically dictating whether an O-lineman will be a "reserve/bust" or Pro Bowler. I've read that the 3-cone and short shuttle times can be useful for RB and WR projections, but this is a bit much. -
Rd7 Pick #237 OT Seantrel Henderson U of Miami
Punch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Adam Schefter discussed Henderson's failed drug test(s) in this ESPN clip sometime between the combine and the Draft--- he also added these comments: "Recruiting analysts thought that he was a mix between some of the great offensive tackles that ever played the game, like: Orlando Pace... ...when you watch him play, he's an elite talent--- but there are questions about his decisions and his judgement. ...there are players that have tested positive at the combine... ...People close to him, people that know him swear by him--- they say that he's a good kid." -
Eric Wood @EWood70 4m “@ESPNNFL: Of the 256 players picked in 2009, only 38 remain on the team that drafted them. pic.twitter.com/p72Z9nsmvQ” this is pretty wild

Report: Bills attempted to trade up for Carlos Hyde
Punch replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Chris Brown on the John Murphy Show tonight, the initial offer to Miami was our 3rd and 5th for their 2nd... it was then upped to our 3rd and 4th, which would match the draft pick trade value chart. Basically, it would cost us Ross Cockrell and Seantrel Henderson* to get Hyde. *I say Henderson because I suspect Whaley wouldn't have traded the extra 5th, leaving us with (possibly still) Richardson. -
RD2, Pick #44: T Cyrus Kouandjio - University of Alabama
Punch replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ffalo Bills @buffalobills 5 mins Kouandjio: "I don't know why #Bills haven't been a winning team. But I'm here to win, it's what I do. I believe in these men" -
Sammy Watkins @sammywatkins 4m A lot of guys be disappointed where they land I am blessed to be n this position #BillsMafia

RD7, Pick #221: OLB Randell Johnson - Florida Atlantic
Punch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's pretty interesting that the teams interested in him were the Seahawks, 49ers and Jets--- I like to see the Bills trending toward "big and nasty". -
Schefter: Eagles trade Bryce Brown to Bills

Can you be a little more specific about which article? I don't see anything referencing a tradeup for Carlos Hyde. -

John Kryk @JohnKryk 1 min Reported earlier, but ICYMI Howard Milstein (w/ WNY ties) says he won't be "participating in the sales process or making" bid to buy #Bills. But he owns a large tract of land just east in Niagara Falls, just east of the falls and said in a statement: "We are prepared to put substantial personal and business resources behind that effort, including our land in Niagara Falls ... I look forward to working w/ all parties & any prospective buyers to help keep the #Bills in upstate NY where they belong." The music is soon to stop, re #Bills bid groups. Who's aligning with whom? Who's going it alone? TIme to find a chair. We might know soon. -
17 would look right--- that's my preference. Realistically, I'd like him to not pick a number with a strong previous association, but that's difficult: no 14, 13 or 83 at the very least.

when does the Spiller trade happen?
Punch replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, because your assessment is wrong. Chris Williams was signed because he's mobile and can pull out front on outside runs and screens. He's not a "road grader". Incidentally, Watkins excels at short passes, screens and sweeps, too. I don't disagree that Marrone probably prefers a big back that can run inside, but I bet he'd like to have both at his disposal. The return in trade for Spiller right now is nowhere near equal to the value he provides the Bills on the field in 2014--- and as much as I like the Bryce Brown trade, they're not about to hand the keys to him and a 33 year old Fred Jackson. It would be suicide. -
