Bills Raiders AFC Championship game - the National Anthem
Punch replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're probably thinking of Whitney Houston at the Super Bowl the following week--- but, yes, it was awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR_KwLvf0is -
Yes, I understand---- the rumor being that it will, indeed, appear on channel 7. Pat Moran initially stated he did not know if Julie even asked Kelly anything about Cowher. That's why I classifed it as a rumor. He now says Julie Fine has e-mailed and verified that she did ask about Cowher and it will appear in the broadcast.
-
The rumor indicates Kelly was there for a charity thing--- I see now that Pat Moran may be involved with this rumor, so it's probably smoke being blown.
-
A few of the other Bills' message boards, including the one at BB.com, are indicating that Channel 7's Julie Fine spoke with Jim Kelly at Ilio Dipaolo's earlier today and he mentions having had discussions with Bill Cowher? Has anyone heard this? ALLEGEDLY this will be broadcast on Channel 7 at 5pm? Even if this is true it could, of course, be nothing--- but it sounds interesting.

Jay Glazer has a ton of "buff news" on coach
Punch replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it was reported that Russ Grimm turned down the chance to interview with the Bills, but this just came in from: http://twitter.com/Jay_Glazer -
Would You be Excited with Pete Carroll as Head Coach?
Punch replied to Hsp08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO WAY---- I would only take him over Dick Jauron or Hank Bullough -
Cowher the Cowher is Cowher for Cowher in Cowher's Cowher

I don't think Logan's supposed source is related to the buffalo range message board, that's just being insinuated by a few posters here. In my opinion, Logan linked to it in his Twitter to keep leading the parade--- not that it invalidates his claims, but he's becoming sort of a cheerleader at thid point for "The Movement". -

As mentioned earlier, it's a thread from 2 days ago, and clearly did not happen. The thread title is: Interesting Thread From BB.com http://www.b u f f a l o r a n g e . c o m/showthread.php?t=171753 -
Cowher the Cowher is Cowher for Cowher in Cowher's Cowher
Punch replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's my thinking, exactly--- it is more logical that Cowher may (and probably will) come to Buffalo than not. A lack of patience and a ton of negativity due to this past decade of mediocrity is leading Bills fans to the brink throughout this whole process. -

FWIW, Logan just retweeted the Cowher in Buffalo thread: the "source is as solid as they come" -

The "Cowher in Town" thread is: http://w w w . b u f f a l o r a n g e . c o m/showthread.php?t=171939 Apparently the poster is the site owner and is known to have genuine contacts--- I'm skeptical, but still I'm desperate for anything positive. -

You can see the thread if you copy and paste--- but the entire thread is from 2 days ago, regarding a hurried potential press conference for the following day at OBD--- which obviously did not occur. There is a separate thread at that message board started 44 minutes ago by a well regarded poster that Cowher was in OP this weekend, however. The thread title is Cowher in Town. -

Punch replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it obvious that for the CBS pregame to NOT link Cowher to the Bills is probably because there is, indeed, some validity to his interest? It's kind of a big decision, to say the least, and I'm sure he's taking his time to consider it--- and also that the Bills have allowed for him to do so. It doesn't mean he'll ultimately take the job, but if he had absolutely no interest then he would likely take this opportunity to lay the rumors to rest--- he's not going to string everybody along in this manner. -
Just like Dick Jauron! Maybe DJ can replace him at USC to rehabilitate his poor NFL coaching record, just as Carroll did.

Well, that is the same pic from the about page at eastaurora.org, and this Twitter account does go back to June, clearly representing the same guy. Interestingly, the first Twitter post is a plea to T.O. to move to East Aurora: I think he's sincere in that he is being fed insider info of some kind--- but obviously there is no way to know the degree of authenticity of that info.

In response to another Twitter-er's (?) question asking for any news. Is Joe Logan actually outing Jim Kelly as his his source? LoganInEA

Wasn't this thread probably not intended to be serious but just a jab at SKOOBY's inanity? SKOOBY=Scooby-Doo, SKRAAPY=Scrappy-Doo? The comments in the initial post are just as dumb as anything posted by SKOOBY himself.

Round 7, Pick 220: ELLIS LANKSTER, CB, West Virginia

Yeah, I can't tell if he's joking about that or not. I was trying to beat him to it. -

Round 5, Pick 147: NIC HARRIS, OLB, Oklahoma
Punch replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/563872 Compares To: CATO JUNE, Houston -- Harris does not have the pass coverage ability of June, but both are more of a chase-and-trail type of linebacker who work better playing downhill and in the short-area pursuit than handling man coverage assignments. Like June, Harris will be limited to playing in a Cover-2 scheme. It is evident by his poor hip turn and marginal speed for the position that he will not be considered to be a strong safety by many teams. -
Schonert and the OL are going to get Edwards killed....

Remember how often we'd (and I'm referring to JP supporters from the past few seasons, a group in which I participated) make comments like this to justfiy JP's struggles? For the record, I do believe those were justifiable struggles for a young QB so early in his career--- but that's what makes this season and this group so special. Trent is well ahead of the curve at perhaps the most difficult "mental" position in the game. And it's not only Trent. The light has come on for the team as a whole in so many ways. It just came to mind when I was reading this post, and I think it's fun to reflect on how far they've come as a team from the head scratching/smashing ineptitude of the last decade. I know this season is only 4 games old and an awful lot can change in a single heartbeat--- but doesn't it seem like eons ago the Bills couldn't do anything right?
