  1. He says the situation is exactly the same for Edwards as in 2007, considering the fact that Lee Evans is still the only receiving option, but the offensive line is much worse. I know the receivers are mostly young and untested, and this is clearly one of the challenges for the coaching staff this season--- but the emergence of Fred Jackson the last 2 seasons and the addition of CJ Spiller really don't provide any additional receiving options for Edwards (or even providing a cushion for Edwards by vastly improving the run game threat)? Parrish being properly utilized for the first time in his career I can get being overlooked and dismissed as inconsequential--- but how exactly is the offensive line much worse than in 2007? I would only take the 2007 Jason Peters from that line. Levitre and Wood are obviously huge upgrades and I would certainly argue that Haungartner (while not great) is an upgrade from Fowler/Preston. ESPN doesn't really need to do their homework on lesser teams like the Bills, though, until they start off 5-1 beating creampuffs like in 2008, in which case they can just as inaccurately declare them contenders and hype them as up and comers. This kind of 3rd grade assessment calls into question the assessments of every team not in Foxboro or possibly New York (not that accurate assessments are necessarily provided for those teams either, just ad hoc PR).
  2. I definitely hated Bryan Cox, but at a certain point it was like hating a slow little kid or something the way Thurman dragged him for the first down in the "Bird" game to win our last division title in '95. I could never truly hate Marino for that reason, due to the fact that he more or less always lost to Kelly when it counted. I recall Cox pouting like a b***h a year or two later when he went to Chicago after the Bears gave up a questionable TD: he just stood in the end zone with his helmet on his hip during the extra point in protest. But at the end of his career with the Jets and Patsies he seemed to turn into a different player altogether, mature and exhibiting an almost mentor type presence. After his playing career when he briefly worked for ESPN on NFL Live he actually turned into a bit of a Bills booster, in the mid '00s for awhile, which created somewhat of a temporary soft spot for me. But still, praise Saban that Carwell tried to f**k him up post game in '95. I still hate Louis Oliver, come to think of it.
  3. Genius. It's pretty crazy that you joined the board 7 years ago and this is only your first post... But it was a good one, I think.
  4. Isn't Hardy entering his 3rd year? Making him exempt from participation?
  5. John Clayton reported it would take a 2nd rounder to get McNabb (in reference to the Vikes if Favre retires) on ESPN radio---- I can't find a link, though.
  6. He's on his way back from Washington DC, according to his wife.
  7. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/20...waiting-on.html
  8. Actually, his name was linked to the Bills early on, and he did say "thanks but no thanks" so he could stay in the CFL---- but I don't think the Bills were actually interested, it may have just been speculation. From the Toronto Star in November.
  9. No, I'm asking if Coach Sal said this on his online radio show--- a poster on another board alluded to it. The show gets archived when finished, but it's still going, now.
  10. Did Sal say Cowher initially said NO on 1/6--- and following that is when both Kelly AND Thurman were asked to go "full court press" on BC?
  11. Oh, was that the West Point band that played the anthem? No one ever mentions that--- I bet the NFL Films highlights would include some of that.
  12. You're probably thinking of Whitney Houston at the Super Bowl the following week--- but, yes, it was awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR_KwLvf0is
  13. Yes, I understand---- the rumor being that it will, indeed, appear on channel 7. Pat Moran initially stated he did not know if Julie even asked Kelly anything about Cowher. That's why I classifed it as a rumor. He now says Julie Fine has e-mailed and verified that she did ask about Cowher and it will appear in the broadcast.
  14. The rumor indicates Kelly was there for a charity thing--- I see now that Pat Moran may be involved with this rumor, so it's probably smoke being blown.
  15. A few of the other Bills' message boards, including the one at BB.com, are indicating that Channel 7's Julie Fine spoke with Jim Kelly at Ilio Dipaolo's earlier today and he mentions having had discussions with Bill Cowher? Has anyone heard this? ALLEGEDLY this will be broadcast on Channel 7 at 5pm? Even if this is true it could, of course, be nothing--- but it sounds interesting.
  16. I know it was reported that Russ Grimm turned down the chance to interview with the Bills, but this just came in from: http://twitter.com/Jay_Glazer
  17. NO WAY---- I would only take him over Dick Jauron or Hank Bullough
  18. I don't think Logan's supposed source is related to the buffalo range message board, that's just being insinuated by a few posters here. In my opinion, Logan linked to it in his Twitter to keep leading the parade--- not that it invalidates his claims, but he's becoming sort of a cheerleader at thid point for "The Movement".
  19. As mentioned earlier, it's a thread from 2 days ago, and clearly did not happen. The thread title is: Interesting Thread From BB.com http://www.b u f f a l o r a n g e . c o m/showthread.php?t=171753
  20. That's my thinking, exactly--- it is more logical that Cowher may (and probably will) come to Buffalo than not. A lack of patience and a ton of negativity due to this past decade of mediocrity is leading Bills fans to the brink throughout this whole process.
  21. FWIW, Logan just retweeted the Cowher in Buffalo thread: the "source is as solid as they come"
