  1. @caplannfl: Former #Jets WR Stephen Hill is working out for the #Panthers today, source confirmed.
  2. It was reported quite awhile ago that various potential bidders were contacting Kelly--- it wouldn't be surprising in the least that Bon Jovi or Golisano had discussions with Jim at some point. Simply having conversations about a team up doesn't really say much.
  3. I live in Virginia now, but I'd love an MLS team in Buffalo. DC United draws excellent numbers but the vastness of RFK Stadium makes it look like a small crowd. If if the League allowed for a multi sport stadium to be used, what's wrong with Coca Cola Field? Having said that, I'm not sure an MLS team in Buffalo will pull 20,000+ at the necessary price point.
  4. Carey Bender, Marv's other Coe College RB. I also remember being excited about Yonel Jourdain.
  5. Why would Whitner joke about the Bills moving... considering he plays for the Browns? Dude's a genius.
  6. -A "PED suspension waiting to happen" is factual? -He did overpursue at times but it wasn't often enough to be considered epidemic. He was a rookie playing inside when his natural position is outside. Occasionally misreading gaps is understandable. -As with the majority of your subjective opinions (not facts) the burden of proof is on you to show that Alonso was "undisciplined and all over the field". I don't think anyone else that watched the Bills comes away with these conclusions. -The Bills defense was bad in a variety of ways, but they finished 9th in yds allowed and were 2nd in sacks and takeaways--- even if they were terrible against the run, the 2013 Bills defense cannot possibly be considered "monumentally horrid". -People love him because he was outstanding for a rookie LB. "2 good games"? Nonsensical hyperbole. Alonso wasn't perfect and no one claims that he was--- fans, coaches, broadcast analysts and journalists everywhere were excited to see Kiko grow his sophomore season in his natural position and surrounded by an improved defensive cast. You chose to go a different route for no other reason than so everyone would notice you. Congratulations on your success. Now we can go back to ignoring you.
  7. NFL teams can no longer use a physically different 2nd helmet--- in the Bills' case, both their throwback and modern helmets are white, so when they wear the throwbacks they just change the decal from charging blue buffalo to the standing red buffalo. In other words, the Bills cannot wear both a white and a separate red helmet during the same season.
  8. There is a reason: to drive up the bid as much as possible--- which is totally fair. If 10 groups bid and 5 want to move the team, the 5 local bidders won't know it thanks to the non-disclosure agreement. It could be the difference between $900,000 and $1.3B.
  9. NY Post Page 6 isn't exactly "reputable", but I'm not sure I doubt this is true. Then again, considering he's friends with Jerry Jones and has substantial financial backing it's no surprise that Bongiovi could get a meeting with Goodell.
  10. In your opinion, would a quicker sale favor any particular bidders that have been named--- or perhaps, any type of bidder (ie, individual vs. group; bidders with greater liquidity; etc)?
  11. It sounds more like he was praising his team than knocking the Bills: “I think it’s happened quicker here because I think it’s a smart group,” Pettine says, comparing the install to last season’s with the Bills. “I’m not saying we were dumb in Buffalo—far from it—but this is a group that I think processes, as a whole, very quickly.”
  12. I wouldn't be shocked if Timmy texted Tannenbaum to suggest it and make sure he has Rogers' number.
  13. Since when does message board speculation require a source?
  14. I think the NFL isn't on board with AEG's plan simply because there is neither a team currently in LA nor any indication of one heading there anytime soon. http://www.dailynews.com/government-and-politics/20140216/tipoff-aeg-nfl-stadium-still-a-first-string-idea
  15. Unless I'm misreading the purported public statements regarding lease negotiations, the Wilson faction were not in favor of an onerous opt out clause.
  16. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/06/11/pabst-twinkie-kingpin-metropoulos-will-look-buying-buffalo-bills/ C. Dean Metropoulos, the food and beverage magnate who was a runner-up to Shad Khan for the Jacksonville Jaguars three years ago, will take a look at the Bills when the team's financial advisers produce their sales book. "The Metropoulos family has a continued interest in acquiring an NFL franchise and expects to review any such opportunity," a Metropoulos spokesman told The Buffalo News today.
  17. Yes, that's wrong, but they suggested a meeting did take place according to "sources". It sounds fishy.
  18. It's clear that the OP is correct in everything he heard on the Edge... now, is what Shredd and Ragan saying about this alleged meeting actually true?
  19. It would be utterly surreal if the ownership behind the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs joined forces to "save" the Buffalo Bills. The Bon Jovi part would no longer seem that strange by comparison. This was definitely the most interesting piece of the article: * A Western New York source involved in the bid process said he still hears that the Jacobs family will not lead a bid for the Bills. Rather, it will sit back and be ready to potentially provide last-moment “over the top” money for a leading bid group that might require it — a group that would keep the team local, and a group the Jacobs family likes.
  20. Dan Marino visited Kelly in the hospital:
  21. @JoeBuscaglia: Manny Lawson and Alan Branch have not been present at any of the #Bills workouts to this point @buffalobills: Marrone: Mario Williams had offseason surgery on his hip. Not expected to miss time. @buffalobills: Marrone: Robert Woods (ankle) and Kiko Alonso (hip) also had offseason procedures. Expected to be healthy and available for the season.
  22. @JonahJavad: I wouldn't stress the EJ limping. It was very brief and he returned to the drill immediately. Just passing along what I see. #Bills
  23. @JonahJavad: EJ Manuel was limping briefly after escaping pocket during offense vs. defense drill. Reached for left knee. Still on field taking reps tho.
  24. Conservatively, I'd peg him at about 750-800 yds and 6-8 TDs, so it's hard for me to argue with that ranking. Rookie WRs rarely put up big numbers, but I wouldn't really be surprised if he surpassed 1,000 yds.
