  1. Apparently, you care because you keep repeating it. Every time a player is traded, it isn't an indictment of his personal character or value. It's not even necessarily a statement made by the team that they don't like the player. A trade is an exchange of value for value. The Bills braintrust determined that acquiring LeSean McCoy was of greater importance to their future success than retaining Kiko Alonso, and probably nothing more. I think it's kind of gross to turn on a player once he leaves--- just because he leaves. There's no reason to bash Kiko just because he was traded, even if he wanted out. He seemed to embrace Buffalo and played hard and well as a rookie. If some fans wish to lament his departure a mere 24 hours later, it's certainly understandable.
  2. Jerry Sullivan
  3. I know what you mean. Peters has improved over the past few years, but he's still pretty much a clod. Sylvester is probably the worst professional broadcaster I've ever heard, and even though I'm using hyperbole, I don't think it's much of an exaggeration. I can't fathom how he's maintained employment for so long. Zero hockey intelligence and zero on air charisma. He steps all over every co-host and guest. Brian Duff and Dan Dunleavy are a breath of fresh air on the TV broadcasts. Screwdriver to the skull.
  4. I love the Sabres, but when I try to listen to Kevin Sylvester on Hockey Hotline, I can't help but want to jab a screwdriver into my skull. There's obviously a great deal of logic to Chip Kelly's decision to trade McCoy --- it has become vogue for NFL teams to not pay a premium in salary or draft position for the RB position. A soon to be 27 year old RB isn't worth a $10mil cap hit to the Eagles when their defense is a sieve. On the other hand, if the Bills can restructure McCoy's contract and get 2 good years out of him, it's absolutely a good trade for our team. We can afford to part with Kiko, the Eagles can't afford the luxury of paying an elite RB an elite salary. I like it for the Bills, even though I like Kiko.
  5. I agree about Barnwell, generally--- he also tends to lean on snark whenever he wants to make a lazy point which I think is intellectually ingenuous and irritating. He did discuss the hot unsustainable September of Kiko's rookie year which he suggests overrated his 2013 season, to be fair: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/lesean-mccoy-kiko-alonso-trade-philadelphia-eagles-buffalo-bills/ I didn't hear that part, but I agree, that's idiotic.
  6. Why do you listen to WGR if you hate it so much? He likes the trade and is excited about McCoy. Bulldog's concerns were referencing Bill Barnwell's analysis on Grantland.com this morning and are the same concerns any sensible modern football fan would have about the trade. FWIW, Barnwell's conclusion is that the trade is probably good for both teams.
  7. Who else reported it?
  8. This twitter account does have almost 8,000 followers and more than 10,000 tweets. He tweeted more than 4 hours ago that the Dolphins were interested in Suh, which was just reported by Yahoo within the hour. I'm not suggesting that necessarily proves anything but it does have the air of legitimacy. NFL_DRAFT_Bites @NFLDraftBites · 5h5 hours ago #49ers Significant interest FA TE Virgil Green. Would likely spell end Vernon Davis' time in SF. Hear rumors Vernon being dealt to Bills...
  9. Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 1m1 minute agoPennsylvania, USA Jerry Hughes and agent to meet directly with #Bills Thursday
  10. @ByTimGraham: Bills fans can find some peace in what a knowledgable source tells me: Kiko Alonso did not request a trade.
  11. McCoy is on record that he'd restructure in Philly to help against the cap: longer term, same money. I'm sure we'll hear of a restructure in the works.
  12. Your first two sentences are the relevant pieces to understanding the point of this thread. If the Jets' disaster of a 2014 season were identifiably (or even implicitly) Rex's fault, it would be bad news for his next team. Right? I mean... obviously?
  13. Imagine the degree of difficulty there would be as Bills fans in getting excited about his hire after this... he may or may not be a good coach but this call will define him for awhile.
  14. No, former Vikings QB Joe Kapp. As long as we're going "ground and pound" we may as well go categorically Neolithic era for our field general.
  15. That's true. No one would bat an eyelash if worded differently.
  16. To be fair, Warner mentioned his own personal legacy last after initially suggesting it was unfair to the legacy of others including Bellichick and the NE franchise. I don't think it was out of line for him to refer to his own legacy considering it is, in fact, quite considerable and it was perfectly natural for him to reflect introspectively, particularly in hindsight. But that's funny.
  17. This is so deliriously transparent. How can anyone accurately project which HC candidates will be available or which franchises will have vacancies a year from now? Why would Marrone be more desirable next year than this year? I suppose it's only embarrassing for someone like Schefter if you're looking closely at his comments as we are. Fans of other teams likely just nod their heads at such a "report".
  18. It's a shame information isn't disseminated with more context, but I suppose that's impossible in this day and age. Your take is correct and unfortunately, there's such a rush to judgement that viable info can be chewed up and spit out without ever cutting to the quick. It is possible, hopefully it'll lead to something concrete.
  19. The balls are marked by the officials following approval, correct? Is it possible the 12 approved balls were replaced with pre-doctored balls, stowed away in the bathroom? Or is that less likely than deflating 11 balls to the desired levels in 90 seconds? Asking for a friend.
  20. You've done so much ball washing over the past week... are you perhaps the actual culprit? It would explain your mania. Aaaah that's the only logical answer. Thanks.
  21. That's more than a little over the top of you. He is clearly comparing the way the two organizations are/were run and not in any way comparing the weight of the resultant consequences. To have done so wouldn't even make sense.
  22. FWIW, Tim Graham's take: Tim Graham@ByTimGraham · 1 hr1 hour ago More evidence reports of Bills offering Marrone extension likely were planted: @mikerodak talks with asst Fred Pagac http://es.pn/1E38V9n
  23. Lande says two "former" NFL executives, not current. My first thought was Polian was one of them, based on tempermental reputation and, potentially, recent events.
  24. It's no surprise he supports an !@#$ like Marrone considering these comments.
