  1. New detail, although it was expected: @john_kucko: Per @Jeff_McLane, LeSean McCoy to get 5 year deal from #Bills, frontloaded with guaranteed $ #BillsMafia http://t.co/nRCfC8i6ip
  2. @DraftDiamonds: I am hearing Buffalo is really interested in Charles Clay. Bills see him as a younger Vernon Davis in Greg Roman's offense
  3. 7 mins ago: @CharlesRobinson: #Bills are still working it. RT @cbreezy2411: @CharlesRobinson Any new updates with Hughes negotiations? #Bills
  4. @Rand_Getlin: The #Jets, #Patriots, #Dolphins, #Cardinals, #49ers, #Redskins and #Lions all have interest in Spiller, league sources say.
  5. That's great to hear, I hope this can help him get his career going. Incidentally, does anyone remember the Bills considered signing LeCharles Bentley after the Browns released him? IIRC, he didn't pass the physical.
  6. Even if it's not considered "overpaying", a new deal with the Bills will be big. So, yes, definitely.
  7. That's not quite accurate. He said Hughes' representation is advising that he could potentially get more on the open market, and that Hughes is contemplating it. He also said it's possibly just a negotiating tactic. We should know soon enough.
  8. 9:37pm @jchenelly: Those advising Jerry Hughes say they are sure they can get bigger payday on open market than #Bills willing to pay. Hughes contemplating.
  9. Posted at 7:20pm @jchenelly: @nickellion79 @NCrampton11 Meeting has started. No further info yet. Will update as soon as possible.
  10. You sound pretty upset about people being upset about nothing.
  11. Greg Cosell is one of the best film reviewers in the media, and this time of year is where he really shines. He wrote a post on Yahoo's Shutdown Corner blog about the Bills-Eagles trade and added a paragraph on Cassell. Long story short, he likes what the Bills have done. It's an interesting read overall, although much of the post is about the Eagles: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/greg-cosell-s-analysis--breaking-down-the-eagles-bills-trade-175905938.html Regarding Cassell: "And I really think they made a good move trading for Matt Cassel. Cassel is your classic (for lack of a better term) system player. He needs a strong run game, and obviously that will be the foundation of the Bills’ offense. Cassel has always been a good play-action quarterback. He has never had a problem turning his back to the defense and then getting his head around and figuring out the coverage. In some ways, Cassel is no different – and arguably better at times – than Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton. He fits a system, and that’s what the Bills are going to do."
  12. Lake Erie never caught on fire, but the Cuyahoga River did several times. The fact that the mouth of the Cuyahoga River is Lake Erie has nothing to do with Darrelle Revis' interest in playing for Rex again.
  13. Apparently, you care because you keep repeating it. Every time a player is traded, it isn't an indictment of his personal character or value. It's not even necessarily a statement made by the team that they don't like the player. A trade is an exchange of value for value. The Bills braintrust determined that acquiring LeSean McCoy was of greater importance to their future success than retaining Kiko Alonso, and probably nothing more. I think it's kind of gross to turn on a player once he leaves--- just because he leaves. There's no reason to bash Kiko just because he was traded, even if he wanted out. He seemed to embrace Buffalo and played hard and well as a rookie. If some fans wish to lament his departure a mere 24 hours later, it's certainly understandable.
  14. Jerry Sullivan
  15. I know what you mean. Peters has improved over the past few years, but he's still pretty much a clod. Sylvester is probably the worst professional broadcaster I've ever heard, and even though I'm using hyperbole, I don't think it's much of an exaggeration. I can't fathom how he's maintained employment for so long. Zero hockey intelligence and zero on air charisma. He steps all over every co-host and guest. Brian Duff and Dan Dunleavy are a breath of fresh air on the TV broadcasts. Screwdriver to the skull.
  16. I love the Sabres, but when I try to listen to Kevin Sylvester on Hockey Hotline, I can't help but want to jab a screwdriver into my skull. There's obviously a great deal of logic to Chip Kelly's decision to trade McCoy --- it has become vogue for NFL teams to not pay a premium in salary or draft position for the RB position. A soon to be 27 year old RB isn't worth a $10mil cap hit to the Eagles when their defense is a sieve. On the other hand, if the Bills can restructure McCoy's contract and get 2 good years out of him, it's absolutely a good trade for our team. We can afford to part with Kiko, the Eagles can't afford the luxury of paying an elite RB an elite salary. I like it for the Bills, even though I like Kiko.
  17. I agree about Barnwell, generally--- he also tends to lean on snark whenever he wants to make a lazy point which I think is intellectually ingenuous and irritating. He did discuss the hot unsustainable September of Kiko's rookie year which he suggests overrated his 2013 season, to be fair: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/lesean-mccoy-kiko-alonso-trade-philadelphia-eagles-buffalo-bills/ I didn't hear that part, but I agree, that's idiotic.
  18. Why do you listen to WGR if you hate it so much? He likes the trade and is excited about McCoy. Bulldog's concerns were referencing Bill Barnwell's analysis on Grantland.com this morning and are the same concerns any sensible modern football fan would have about the trade. FWIW, Barnwell's conclusion is that the trade is probably good for both teams.
  19. Who else reported it?
  20. This twitter account does have almost 8,000 followers and more than 10,000 tweets. He tweeted more than 4 hours ago that the Dolphins were interested in Suh, which was just reported by Yahoo within the hour. I'm not suggesting that necessarily proves anything but it does have the air of legitimacy. NFL_DRAFT_Bites @NFLDraftBites · 5h5 hours ago #49ers Significant interest FA TE Virgil Green. Would likely spell end Vernon Davis' time in SF. Hear rumors Vernon being dealt to Bills...
  21. Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 1m1 minute agoPennsylvania, USA Jerry Hughes and agent to meet directly with #Bills Thursday
  22. @ByTimGraham: Bills fans can find some peace in what a knowledgable source tells me: Kiko Alonso did not request a trade.
  23. McCoy is on record that he'd restructure in Philly to help against the cap: longer term, same money. I'm sure we'll hear of a restructure in the works.
