Respectfully disagree. Josh is an instinctively good runner, with good eyes for the hole(s) and the chains. Add in crazy good moves/wheels for a stallion, and tough to bring down (want a stiff arm, Kiko?) and we have a weapon that Daboll simply has to show, at least on occasion. Opposing DCs, DLs and LBs therefore must respect the possibility. Helps open things up for the rest of our ground game... imho, of course. Josh is a brute and is making SO much progress right now, on SO many different fronts; he’ll get better and better at avoiding those calamitous hits. These designed runs will likely play a role in whatever success comes our way over the next few years, and be part of his game until very late in his (HOF?) career. After yesterday‘s game, I am most eager to see an analysis of how the OL actually accomplished what they did on our final drive; OMG I thought I was watching the Pats’* drive against us last year in the mirror. I heard Feliciano slid to C for Morse earlier, but who was where at the end and how’d they do individually (obviously including Bates)? More importantly, do we have a chance of replicating that performance going forward? Yowza... oh btw, Eli Harold didn’t make the Eagles’ cut to 53, and remains a FA. ?

I love that Beane does this stuff. Sometimes he mentions players that are “fun to watch “; Beane is fun to watch. Just seems like like we are on a different planet than we’ve been rotting on for the last couple decades...

I’m amazed that this board hasn’t exploded this go fund me campaign. $45K in 16 months? am I missing something here? A few days ago when I saw that he was going into hospice, I dug up the link from the first page, and donated my pittance. Kind of did it in a hurry, and didn’t really look at the numbers, just assumed that this would be at least the equivalent of the Andy Dalton charity thing, or perhaps an even bigger blockbuster. Checked back today to see how he’s doing, and then thought of checking out the fund more carefully...and was a little disappointed, I guess.

It’s true that I’ve been suffering whiteout lately, wanting Lawrence. Just found a spot to slip in my two cents worth.

I am totally sure there are folks here that can make the comparison from this discussion to that draft off the top of their heads; I cannot. I’d guess that Polian had Bennett pegged as a perfect fit for a need, with no other player close. I can say, however, that 1. I think Beane would rather all of us ravish his wife than give up next year’s one. He wouldn’t/didn’t do it for Josh, why ever now? 2. Q. Williams seems great, OK, but Beano’s not housed at a party thinking he’s gonna’ go all in for the most luscious cheerleader, he’s a sane professional that is fully (if not anally) aware of price tags, and BULLY FOR US!!! 3. Coach Clap is on record as wanting QB pressure from inside, which, to a degree, mitigates the Neanderthal Defensive Coach label for him. We also were absolutely gouged on the ground by our immediate hurdle (Patriots). So we need both run-stuff AND inside pressure, but on our budget. To me that spells DEXTER LAWRENCE He swallows up RBs like they’re PooPoos on a platter, he tracks sideline runs like a snake, he’s got eyes for blocked kicks/passes. I don’t care whether BB sits at 9, or trades up or down, so long as he gets the defensive line help, along with a TE, AND keeps next year’s first.

To me this signing adds a little fuel to the “trade up for a (defensive) stud” fire....

Somewhere around 15 or 16 years ago, I did a sales trip through Buffalo up to Toronto and surrounds. After I reentered, I made a stop to retrieve a bag of smoke that I had stashed under the bleachers at Amherst High on my way through. Rolled a fatty, got on the Thruway headed home. Happily listening to WGR chat where the subject was what to change the stadium name to, instead of Rich, I believe. On a semi-stoned whim, I called in, and went on air almost immediately??! Briefly explained that any city that welcomed their team home from the wide right Super Bowl loss with thousands of people on the tarmac, and then thousands more the next day at City Hall, carrying Scotty around on their shoulders and chanting his name, should logically name the stadium for Nicole Brown Simpson. They hung up instantly, followed by a total silence and then immediately changed the subject. It was amusing to me, anyway...

What’s sick is how much fun this thread is (“juicy” from YOLO) during this parched news time... We’re all gobbling up this “permutation of speculation “ like it’s edibles....

Never seen a film breakdown with that level of detail from any player, much less the actual QB; and the latest stop-action / highlight tech, too. That was the fun part. So much more interesting than an All22 with a commentator trying to guess what the play call was.

Next three might be tougher with two away games: 11/29 @ Kansas City Chiefs 12/6 HOUSTON TEXANS 12/13 @ Philadelphia Eagles but if we're a playoff bound team, we somehow manage 2-1. This gets us to 8-5. You see where I'm going with this, so for the last three games if they can pull off 2-1, we're at 10-6 with a strong division record, and hopefully strong enough tiebreakers with rivals so we get a WC berth: 12/20 @ Washington Redskins 12/27 DALLAS COWBOYS 01/03 NEW YORK JETS 10-6. This is my hopeful, plausible scenario. Needless to say, I'd be thrilled to see them go 2 of 3 for the rest of the season.

Thanks for that link to the Robert Quinn piece; for this non-player it was one of the most helpful / insightful X's and O's discussions I've ever seen. But it really didn't contain anything on blitz pickups, did it? Any of you experts care to weigh in on whether Hopeful (classic moniker, btw) is correct on this? Seems relevant to the discussion of Karlos...and for that matter, Shady, too.
