The White Throwback Jersey
High Mark replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes I noticed this the other day at camp when he was in 54. Too bad, 49 was way cooler IMO, def more unique. Once the Chinese rip offs are available I will prob split a shipment of ten with some friends and get a Poz, McKelvin, Lynch, Evans, and maybe Maybin and Harris if they play well, all for about the cost of an official one from Reebok--all of which would be throwback variety. Why not, I can wear all those jerseys at once at the January home games. -
Ironically I took a Wonderlic yesterday as part of a job Application, the same exact thing they give the NFL guys. Scored a 33. The test is kinda like the SAT (which i scored a 1240/1600 on if you want to compare the two tests), some tricky word associations and math problems, so it really does not translate to football knowledge. But let me tell you, anyone who gets 15 or lower should have their head examined. The questions get harder as you progress, but the first 10-12 or so a third grader could answer. No exaggeration..."If you have six quarters, how much money do you have?" After taking the test, a super high score wouldnt really help a player as there are tons of nerds our there that arent athletic, but a really low score would definitely make me think twice. I mean to score in the single digits one would have to be astoundingly stupid, ala Pacman Jones.

I have to agree. The 2 practices I can report on, he was really bad. Routinely burnt by Schobel during a 2 minute O (we are talkin like 4-5 sacks) And getting schooled by practice squad players in 1 on 1s. I was surprised as he looked so good last pre season. I wouldnt expect anything from him this season.

Ill never understand the reasoning behind drafting him. The consensus top LT was Bryant Mckinnie, who has been starting at LT for one of the better OLs the last 5 years and not out of football. No one talked about Mike Williams before the draft, while McKinnie had spots on Letterman.

because he is still on the Chiefs

Has anyone been to a non-Buffalo Training Camp
High Mark replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What about the actual practice though? Is it more intense/rigorous than a Bills practice? Every SJF Camp I have been to is so lackadaisical I really am stunned. I want to see how the other (winning) side does it. -
Has anyone been to a non-Buffalo Training Camp

I live in Rochester and make it to camp every year. Anyone who has been Im sure has noticed how laid back, non-full speed, and how much standing around there is. They have two nice grass fields plus the Fisher turf, yet while the special teamers do walk through Kick off returns, the other 70 guys stand around and watch for 10-15 mins. I realize with NFL caliber athletes it should be mostly mental, but I just dont think this coaching staff works these guys hard enough to win games. Anyone who has played sports knows you play how you practice. The way the Bills practice (half speed) I can see clearly why we are in this playoff drought. Has anyone ever been to a good teams camp? Like the Steelers, Colts, or Pats? If the Bills want to beat those teams they need to out work them. I could only imagine the intesity at 49er camp this year under Iron Mike. From what I have seen at camp over the DJ years, I have to believe the Bills work half as hard as those successful teams. Hell, my HS Football team had 10x harder practices. Can anyone compare their camp experiences? -
My guess is he already weighs 250+

Parrish unhappy requested trade
High Mark replied to billieve420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roscoe has all the talent that Wes Welker has, but is never in the position to succeed like Welker is. Welker was talented in Miami but produces 10x more in NE. Supplant Roscoe for Welker and Roscoe gets the same production. -
How many pre-season game snaps does O-Line get?
High Mark replied to K-No's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen. Your only real concern is injury, which can happen at any time and should take a back back seat to getting these guys ready for a game that counts. -
With Limp Dick at the helm our Bills may be in the third tier grouping by seasons end. With Dick we are just one loss from 6-10

Random, anonymous scout rips Maybin
High Mark replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My 2 Cents. Maybin does have heart and desire, or he wouldnt have worked out like he has and sought the advice of Arrington and Lewis. However, he seems to be a one trick pony. All he ever did was try to run around the edge of the LT like it was a madden game or something. He never was able to use his hands to fight off LTs and move them around. The only thign you ever heard about the kid was "first step this" and "first step that". Well my beef with that is HE WEIGHED 225 LBS. He is more like a blitzing safety than a DE. Have Kelsay cut weight to 225 and I bet he is really quick too. If Maybin plays at 255, still small for a DE, that means he is playing with 30 extra pounds, my guess is he wont be so quick anymore. To sum up, Maybin was quick and thats all he ever really showed in college. Now we have to hope that with his added weight he can develop some power moves and retain that quickness. -
I was all over Harris the entire 08 season and 09 draft, and pretty sure I actually built his proverbial bandwagon-- thats how much I rooted for him. He is so perfect for the Bills I still cant believe they actually drafted him. Some FYI on Harris: He never lifted weights at OK because he was trying to stay small enough to play safety. He worked out yes but no heavy weight lifting like the other 99% of the players do, some him putting on weight isa non-issue. I was at Fisher yesterday and at first thought Harris was absent because there was no #49 as he was listed in the paper, but I figured he changed numbers. There were 4-5 black LBs out there, one being Pat Thomas (59). I checked online later and Harris has switched to #54. As they did positional drills 10 feet from me I took close notice to each of theirs size to see how big he had gotten. #54 was the tallest and maybe 2nd biggest of ALL our LBs. I hope DJ doesn't hold him back because he is a rookie and throws him in the mix from day 1. IMO he is already better than Ellsion.

What about win the Super Bowl? A Bills Super Bowl is on my list and I am just some loser fan.

My observations of some things from practice today
High Mark replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cant speak for all, but my knock off blue throwback looks just like the store bought ones, just a bit shinier. Add to the fact that it has sewn on numbers and name, Id say they are a much better options than the double the cost screen printed ones. Other than that, love the info -
Does Hamden count?

Dick Jauron's Post-Practice Video
High Mark replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dudes, thats a great sun hat. ANyone who has coached out in the hot summer sun knows the value of a great sun hat. BTW, he ahs ahd that for a while. Saw him wearing what I would guess is the same one 2-3 years ago at fisher. -
They will be full of confidence up until the start of the 2nd Q of the first game when they are down 14-0 and realise it wont be as easy as they thought it would be. Then they will turn to the hopefully still alive (but will anyone be able to tell?) Limp Dick for some encouragement and he will just pat them on the ass and say "good effort, they are just a good team dont worry about it, everyone loses once in a while...." Which is what we will hear all the way to a 3-13 season, or until he is fired. Which occurance is more likely? who knows at this point. While I love my Bills more than the next guy I have to be honest with myself. What has Dick done to prove he can create a winning team? Will Trent progress with more of the same coaching/playcalling/advice?... while adding the never-good-for-a-QB-TO? Will a few years past his prine and constantly injured Schobel and a one-year-wonder college DE who has never played a down of football over 225lbs be that answer to the worst pass rush in franchise history? Will more DBs finally mean more wins? Maybe our easy schedule this year will get us over the hump, or maybe that talented new OLB will really help our front 7......... Come on guys lets be realistic. This team is not built to win in 09. This team is being built--yet agian--for the future. Maybin will need a season or two to develope into a 3 down player, and so will the OL which is still an LT away from being playoff caliber. Nelson has the talent to be the answer at TE but doubtful that he is this season. Our DL still needs another young playmaker inside and the threesome of Scho,Kelsay,Denney needs to be overhauled. We need a playmaking LB who I think we have in Harris, but yet again, dont expect much this season. I think the Bills know this however and brought in TO as a stop gap to prevent the fans from going crazy. Best case scenario Dick is fired midway through the season giving the Bills a head start at finding a SB caliber coach--maybe even giving Bobby April an 8 week tryout as HC, ala Singletary. I figure with all that we end up drafting around the top 5 which will give us a great shot at the best LT/DE going into 2010 which is when out DL has the talent, OL has the experience, our young team has matured, and the Bills are now being lead by a MAN, not a limp Dick.

I cant help but notice that most of the players in your photos seem to be "minorities". This seems a bit racist to me. I think the NFL should institute a rule saying that every NFL team has to bring at least a certain number of "white" players into camp. White players are just as good as minority players and I think they need an fair shot. It could be called the "Rooney Rule".

Maybin unlikely to show up at training camp
High Mark replied to Captain Quint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but the agent is hired by the player, not the other way around. The player can dictate how the agent acts. If I were a drafted player like Maybin, I would have made sure my agent got me a contract ASAP, or I would make him my former agent. -
Maybin unlikely to show up at training camp
High Mark replied to Captain Quint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont understand why these kids dont try to sign the moment they get drafted. Maybin is 21 years old, and will be getting millions of dollars with his signing bonus. If I were him I would want my millions in April... I couldn't wait till July or August. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... or something like that. Just ask for a little more than what McKelvin got last year and be done with it. Then invest your money for a couple extra months and you may be even when its all said and done. Just simple time value of money. -
I know We Say This Every Year
High Mark replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tom Brady is an above average QB and not the second coming of God as ESPN would like to believe. He throws to wide open recievers after not being pressured in the pocket one bit and his balls are not accurate, something you would notice if his WR werent so open, or Randy Moss. With his injury and NEs line falling apart in 09 and (hopefully)continuing to fall in 10, he will finally show his very average colors. I predict Brady falls out of favor in NE beginning this season and unfortunatly it will all be blamed on his injury, which in regards to his "legacy", will be a lovely coincidence in timing. -
The true key is being able to run the football. When you can eat up yards on the ground the clock ticks and ticks and ticks. The other team cant score on with their O on the bench and your d looks better because they are on the field less and see less series/plays. Pittsburgs D was great but if they didnt have the running game they had/have they wouldnt have had those same numbers. Buffalos D will be better as our OL improves our running game, althought our pass rush problem is far from solved. PS we also need a playmaked at OLB (my bet is on the OK stud Nic Harris)

No, everyone knows why this is being brought up. She wants some easy money and is trampling on the emotions and lives of those who have actually been raped/assualted. If I were him I would have already filed a lawsuit against her for false accusation/defamation of character. People who fabricate this should be fined(restitution) or jailed.
