  1. Another plus to Vick is his ability to avoid un-blocked DL and Blitzers....
  2. He is not, but its been one year. Even if he doesn't end up being a great player I still thought he would be great at the time and I wouldn't deny wanting him on the Bills. How good he is/was/will be was not the argument.
  3. Wow. You have a way of convincing yourself you are a God dont you. Yesterday you convinced yourself that Trent was sacked vrs Tenn and the Bills ran all these 5 wide sets and even invented your own defensive front. Today you want to tell me I cannot be mad that the Bills didnt make a play for Derrick Harvey. Was Derrick Harvey in the 2008 draft? Was the 8th overall pick used to select Derrick Harvey traded to the Jaguars? Therefore, at pick number 8, all 32 NFL teams had a legit shot to draft him. Just offer more than the Jags, and he is yours! (The Jaguars traded their 1st, two 3rd, and a 4th rounder) Therefore, I have a legitimate complaint that the Bills did not acquire him. My reasoning: We didnt need a corner. Resign Greer and we are better off at corner than with McKelvin. We now can trade our first, which was MUCH higher than Balts. We no longer need Ellis at DE, because his pick has been traded away for Harvey. Again, we dont need corners, so Reggie Corners pick is gone. To replace him we dont cut Will James or whoever. That right there may be enough to beat out Jax and get that pick from Balt. Who knows, but dont act like we didnt have to ability to do it.
  4. Dude you are an idiot. Did you even read the first part of the post, where I clearly state that I was praying the Bills would TRADE UP to acquire Harvey, among others?
  5. Please refresh my memory... Wyatt Earp or Tombstone? Me thinky its Tombstone
  6. Rookie Salary cap coming in ...1....2......3
  7. I started a thread a few weeks back about how easy our camp looked. Seems I was right, we have to have one of the easiest camps in the league. It shows on Sundays too.
  8. Please tell me that all of you arent just noticing this? I have been begging for DEs for at least FIVE years . I have prayed that guys the Bills would trade up for guys like Suggs('03), Merrimen('05), M. WIlliams ('06 -wishful thinking I know, but he was a big suprise to go #1), and Harvey('08). I have cursed my TV when they pass on guys like Tuck('05), Kiwanuka('06), Brown('09), and Ngata ('09 - DT, DE whats the dif, we need help in both places). The Bills have been ignoring this obvious problem for almost the entire DECADE. One pretty decent DE (Schobel) is not enough to make the playoffs--clearly. Now that Schobel is old and slow, we need two new starters, AND backups. This team could have Harvey, Maybin, and Brown in just the last two drafts. But instead our DB obsessed FO has McKelvin, Maybin, and Byrd. We could have drafted guys like Kiwanuka*, Tuck, and Ngata in the past without needing to trade (*McCargo trade selection). When you completely ignore the position for the better half of a decade you will end up in this situation....
  9. These guys must not understand the time value of money. If he signed for a Mil less a couple months ago, and invested it, it would prob be worth more today than the fatter contract he will sign tomorrow. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush....
  10. There is no evidence whatsoever that would point to that conclusion. NONE.
  11. In related news, Dick Jauron has invited the 3 former Dolphins to his training camp. All three are likable guys and are expected to make the 53-man roster....
  12. Bravo Pass the pipe. I completely agree with everything you said. But the thing is, just as you name implies, I am addicted to this crack I call the Buffalo Bills. It kills me a little more everyday but I just cant put it down. Its a habit I wont kick till I or the team is gone.
  13. Trade for Brohm. BTW I predict a 4-12 season so a top 5 draft is possible. I think Brohm could be had for a 3rd and 5th rounder in that case or less. Brohm was a better pro prospect in college than Tebow and McCoy and Bradford I believe will struggle this season. If he doesn't struggle he will be drafted before our pick. I would rather add a top DL to gets some QB pressure or a top T to make our mediocre QB look great.
  14. I am saying, that you dont know the Bills line calls, and yes Wood ignored that DT on that play. I am saying that maybe, he was SUPPOSED TO ignore the DT on said play. Without knowing the Bills line calls, we cannot determine whos assignment that DT was. Right on K-Gun^^^^
  15. The Bills will be terrible this year and be drafting in the top 8 IMO. Therefore, we can hopefully pick up either: A- the best DL in the draft B- the best LT in the draft (if Walker leaves something to be desired) C- the top QB (if Edwards reminds us of JP Losman at any point during this season) Candidates include (in order or current preference): A- Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida, Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska, Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss, Gerald McCoy, DT, Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama B- Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State, + others C- Not Bradford, he was a compliment to the running game in OK last season and was glorified by an outstanding OL. He will struggle mightily this season. Also avoid Snead, he is another Freeman, aka he sucks.
  16. It sure is nice we drafted D. Bryd to help us with that. Errr, what?
  17. First, the defensive line alignment you just described does not exist: E ____T_T__E _T_G_C_G_T ???? Second, maybe I am mistaken, but did the Bills ever use a 5 wide set? I dont believe they did, especially when our starting line was still in. So I ask, how was there no back in the backfield? Does this play of yours even exist? Or is it a fabrication just like your mysterious DLine overload left????? I will continue. Maybe it was Hangartner who was supposed to pick up the LDT on a form of trap play. Or maybe Wood was supposed to combo block with Hang, and one of the two was supposed break off and pick up the LB once the DT was controled. Or maybe the RT was supposed to block down on the LDT and purposely leave the LDE unblocked. Maybe your wrong and there was a back in the backfield assigned to the DE. Again, you dont know the line calls, so you dont know who missed what block. The reason you dont know who missed that block is because you dont know who was supposed to make that block, no one outside of the Bills locker room does. Sure you can assume that it was Woods man but it very well may not have been. Dont forget that every player on our line is in a new starting position, it could have been anyone. For all we know L.Walker missed 25 of his assignments last night but not one of us noticed because nothing bad came of it. Third, Edwards was not sacked in the game. Are you are thinking of the play where Woods man ripped threw him and Edwards completed a pass for TOs second reception? Maybe you are confused, on one play Wood totally owned his man, taking him and Hang's man out of the play, created a huge whole which Edwards saw then rane for 8 yards on a third down to convert for a first.I didnt say he was perfect, jsut that he was good and more NFL ready than Levitre.
  18. When they drafted a 220lb DE?
  19. 8/9/09: Harris >>>>>> Ellison Bowen >>> Ellison
  20. ans4e64, read my post here: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...20&start=20
  21. So are we to assume you know the Bills line calls and blocking assignments? Unless you do, there is no way in hell you could even fathom to count their missed assignments. So dont come off like to some football know-all and tell everyone else who also watched the game what they did and did not see. The difference in their play was clearly evident. Most plays that I watched Wood, he drove his man off the ball and created huge holes in the running game on more than one occasion. One play in particular, he drove his man 10 yards off the ball and put him on the ground -- I could tell because he threw him to the ground conveniently on the TVs yellow first down marker (it was 1st down). Wood was a bull and a punisher, just as advertised. Levitre really got owned on that one play, but held is own on others. He doesnt have the strength Wood has, but I think he has better/quicker feet -- which is expected from a college tackle vrs an interior guy. What I liked best was on a couple of plays, specifically one of Roscoes quick screens, Levitre was down field ahead of the ball carrier blocking. ans4e64, as a whole, Wood had a better night and from what we saw is NFL ready. Levitre played well but had his weaknesses exposed, which is good. He can now work on those weaknesses/technique. The best thing I took from this game was the fact that they both started. The two rooks and Hang at C played well together for the most part and that is the most we could hope for given the circumstances. Now we have to accept that this was one game. One game is never enough to determine where a player is in their development.
  22. I would guarantee Harris as a starter in the season opener if not for Limp DIcks inability to play rookies. Hell, I guaranteed Harris to be the best pick of our draft this past April, so I obviously love the kid -- no homo. He and Poz were the only players on the D last night that repeatedly made any type of plays, everyone else was just kind of out there. Even when he wasnt making the play, he was taking ones away. On one of the Oilers TD passes, I beieve it was Langster being beat on a fade, Harris had quickly IDed the pass and dropped into a wide zone coverage taking away any type of a slant from the receiver. Obviously there was not a slant being run but that type of ID is huge on goal line D. Expect Harris to have one hell of a career.
  23. His arm is more than adequate. As important as arm strength is, anticipation is much more important. Matt is a smart and accurate QB. Rocket arms get you Jp Losman, smarts, accuracy, and anticipation get you Montana. You dont have to have it all.
  24. If we drafted lineman like we do DBs we wouldnt be having this discussion. We wouldnt have a problem with our DBs either as we would still have all the DBs on our roster we cut/let walk to make new room for our new DBs.
