  1. Trevor Lawrence was doing that for the Jags but it caught up with him Sunday and they didn’t make it. As others have said, if you get hit in the air, even if not a great hit, it stops your momentum.
  2. Don’t like Allen jumping over the top, which he did twice. Risk for injury and fumble, plus too easy to spot the ball.
  3. McD is a good coach, and from the outside looking in, he cetainly seems like a good guy. The players like him and have rallied here at the end to put themselves in a great position to make the SB. Those factors are in his favor. Great head coaches have to be great managers. Stylistically, you can manager in a lot of different ways and be successful. You can micromanage or you can delegate, but you have to see the big picture and adjust. And in today's world those adjustments have to happen quickly. It can't take years. I was out on McD after the Bills trotted out the same failed (in the post season) defensive philosophy/strategies/implimentation year after year. No changes, and then Frazier left, and to his credit McD took over the duties instead of hiring someone who can't run the D better than he can. That is a plus in my mind. What he hasn't done is get someone more creative on the offensive side. Daboll was a creative mind but we couldn't keep him. The big picture is that Josh Allen is the Buffalo Bills. He is one of the the most unique talents, if not the most unique talent I have seen in 50+ years of following the game. The clock is ticking on winning championships. We need the best creative OC money can buy. We need drafts designed to load the offensive side of the ball. That our receiving corp is not stronger at this point in Allen's career is an indictment. All that said...please go f'ing win it all this year. Go Bills!
  4. Been a great couple of days for Bills so far. Rooting is Dallas is tough to take.
  5. Effectively, yes. I got our chances down to 5% if we lose one of the next two depending on how things break.
  6. F’n bungles. Their luck needs to run out. Playing with that calculator the Bills can clinch a birth before week 18 if everything breaks right. Admittedly that’s a long shot but you never know.
  7. If Buffalo wins the next two and drops the Miami game we have a 53% chance to get in as a wild card.
  8. Yes, that's right. Don't know if this has been posted but it's pretty cool tool. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/upshot/buffalo-bills-nfl-playoff-picture.html
  9. Just my take, since we’re all guessing, but I think the issue is his physicality. I mentioned in a post a long time ago that I thought he could be more physical at the point of the catch. In that same vein, I think tackling, run support, etc is the problem. Zone is not the issue per se. Closing and tackling out of that could be a problem. I think McD would like him to be a little tougher.
  10. I thought Elam did pretty well in man covergae last year. He seemed to be able to maintain good contact with receivers. One area I think he could improve upon is to become more physical at the point of the catch to dislodge the football.
  11. Tua seems like a good dude and I respect him. Unfortunately, he is made of glass and you can't protect your whole body when you're tackled. I guess we'll see what this season looks like, but IMO retirement is the way to go before the next inevitable major injury happens.
  12. I’m really ok with the top three LBs, as we may not be the top choosers but just think Campbell is limited to zone coverage. Sanders is interesting as a rusher, so could have some added value there. I think more aggression on D (per McD) means more man coverage. Beane is not so great at disguising our top pick, so right now I’d be pretty surprised if it isn’t a LB. I guess could be WR and come back for a LB, but don’t really like the value. Perhaps IOL in the 3rd and then whatever’s left. Will be interesting this year. Would be great year for a trade back but not really Beane’s MO.
  13. Trenton Simpson LB, who is the best of this year’s crop IMO. Fast and versatile. Then I believe Beane will trade back up in the second round and take Sam LaPorta TE. Good all around TE. Gives Josh another weapon. Worthy of the pick in a weak draft.
  14. Agree with this take 100%. Campbell is a more traditional (meaning old school) MLB. He's not covering anyone in the pros man up with success. He's lacks quickness with his long legs. He'll get double moved to death. Simpson from Clemson or Sanders are better prospects if you want a cover backer.
  15. They were practically gifted 6 wins a year because the division was so bad. Refs and cheating carried them too.
  16. I really liked those KC teams. Taylor was one of many great players on the Chiefs at that time. Him not being in the HOF is just flat out wrong. Sorry to hear about his passing.
  17. We have Josh Allen for 6 more years. Do we believe that if the Bills do not win a Super Bowl in that time frame that Allen would sign here again? I would doubt it and I would not blame him one bit. For those of us that don't like the defense scheme, is it reasonable to think that McD could hire a different coordinator with a different defensive philosophy? I don't think so (see Rex Ryan). You pick people that mirror how you perceive things. I just don't think replacing the coordinator works by itself.
  18. And, if IIRC the very next play they lined up in tight man. It’s like NOW you think it’s important to stop them, but the play before you basically concede the first down. I hate this D, always have. The only way it works is if you have an elite dline and we are a far cry from that. The example you cited is one of many head scratchers. As much as I like McD, I’m out. This was the last hurrah. Clean house.
  19. That’s the truth. What a good dude. If he wasn’t made of glass,I’d be worried about Miami.
  20. Josh is unbelievable. Absolutely a one-of-kind football player. We are lucky to have him and see him play regularly. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how good he is.
