I was in the opposite end zone. The old “they let the air out” cliche was spot on after the Braxton fumble. I didn’t think the Bills would win. I remember the crowds were crazy…guys peeing over the side of the top deck and in the walkways (in circles). Was that the game with smoke bombs too? At some point they didn’t want any more MNF in Buffalo because of the shenanigans.

I’m always amazed when seeing old tape at how different the line play was back then. Offensive linemen were not allowed to grab at all. Defense had a big advantage compared to today, where holding is way of life.

You can cherry pick anything to suit your purpose. Throw out his good runs and then yeah, his average declines. Why don't we throw out the runs with no blocking and see his average climb? If your point is that sometimes we need someone to grind out a yard or two yards in short yardage, then I agree with you there. Neither Moss nor Singletary is that kind of back, someone to push a pile for a yard to get a first down. The Bills should get a bigger back for that duty and I think they have neglected that role. IMO they thought Moss could it, but I think he's too small too. As for the drop...he dropped it. All players screw up. If you want to vilify him for that, that's your preogative.

Singletary has a career average of 4.8 ypc. Last year, his “down” year, was 4.4. People need to find a new scapegoat for the run game. Singletary can improve, and I’m glad he’s working hard, but the 5 guys up front have to do better.

I would expect the Rouseau and Basham to get snaps in rotation. They'll probably build toward the end of the year. If by playoff time, they show some serious rush abilities, this years draft will be a resounding success. Until then, I really like Epenesa as the guy who will make an impact in the sack department during the regular season. He has good technique and just needs continuing reps at his new weight. Hopefully Hughes won't fall off a cliff with production and Oliver can step up. If all the stars align we could be pretty good on d-line. If not, we'll have to wait one more offseason to get a stud pass rusher.

It’s a reach IMO but obviously hoping for the best. Was relieved we did not take JOK who did not go in the 1st as predicted.

Agree with this synopsis and adding the possibility of a punt returner too. Never paid much attention to him in that role but saw that in highlights too. Is he sure handed?

CB's may be 3 rounds deep in this draft and the difference between geting one in the 1st for us at 30 or later in the draft may not be that pronounced. Edge is the obvious draft need but none are 1st round talents IMO. So, you roll the dice later for that too. I could see Etienne being the pick given this thinking. Don't know who will fall, but if there are only 10-15 1st round grades (which I agree with), then maybe no 1st round talent falls at all, making that a non-option. Could be RB first and then edge and then CB.

Like the thinking just change the name to Jamin Davis. He can do it all and stay on the field every down.

Bills draft Jamin Davis LB from Kentucky in the 1st. Davis is athletic freak that Beane loves. A three down player, he opens up defensive flexibility.

I think most agree that Edge and CB are the two biggest needs. I personally don't like any edge player in round one. I just don't see the production or impact. CB is deep in this draft so there's no need to trade up. By process of elimination, I'm standing pat or trading back. I could see Beane trying to get back the missing 4th rounder by moving back somewhere. This is a good draft for the BPA crowd. I do think someone will fall and that someone might not be a CB. Let's see how that plays out.

I just started to see ads (an ad to get to the home page) on my Iphone and computer yesterday. This thread has only been helpful in that I know I'm not the only one seeing them. As far as the expereince, I come here almost everyday and although I don't post a lot, I'm very grateful to SDS and all who contribute here. It's the best best place for Bills news and the rest of the NFL to boot. Not a problem at all. Thank you for this forum.

Hopefully the Bills will be drafting late for years to come. At this end of the draft, Mr. Beane just has to stay patient. You're rewarded with guys that fall right into your lap. Happens every year. It will happen this year too.

My pick also with what was left on the board.

I get where you guys are coming from, it’s just that one of the general weaknesses of the team on D IMO is size. I’d like to see them getting bigger not smaller. I like a bigger DT and a bigger CB. We might get both this draft.

Yes but can’t see any pick like that in round one. Dude will get steamrolled at his weight.

I can’t see in interest in JOK. We already have an undersized LB. I don’t see him in round one at all.
