The regular QB passer rating is a joke but mainly because it has one huge flaw, it doesn't penalize at all for taking sacks, and other lesser flaws like getting lots of yards does not help. Rob Johnson singlehandedly exposed the regular system by being by far the most sackable QB in NFL history while putting up nice to exellnt passer ratings. He finished his career 83.6 passér rating nearly identical to jim Kelly's 84.4. They just need to tweak the current passer rating so sack avoidance and yards count, not trash the whole system.
Fitz is having his best year - #3 in qbr? Turning Marshall into comeback player of the year? Are you kidding.
Problem is with Fitz is that whenever you allow yourself to think "Well maybe..." he throws another one up for grabs attempting to do something he cannot do physically.
Huh, I though Preston Brown was the man, the coach's son, the genius signal caller, Whaley's great find. That's why we traded Kiko. And Nigel Bradham just a few months ago was the emerging playmaking superstar about to have a breakout year.
I have not fully allowed myself the all out sob session where I get down on my knees and thank god that the long national nightmare is over. I will say this. His tendency to make a big play seems to increase the more critical the situation. Take the knockout blow TD to watkins yesterday on third and forever. You know how many times chan and Fitz went for the knockout like that with a game semi in control. Chan and fitz failed every time. And Tyrod strikes gold. He also stood taller under pressure v the pats and he won the game against the Titans by himself when roman could come up with no other option. Performing better under pressure is known in some circles as the "it" factor.
As another poster said I don't get the wilcots hate. I think he's fine if not good and he does enough to show he's done his homework. If he really said deranged rhino for Karlos I love it.
I am just ever grateful that it is universally agreed that Kujo is seen even worth keeping on the roster. That did look like it would be the case last year.
The Chris brown job is much easier than a real journalist job. You don't even have to try to be balanced. Everyone loves the drivel especially when the team is winning. With 60 players and 40 coaches it's easily to find some positive story all the time.
Even if he manages to string together streaks of competent play within a game the standard for good QB play is so high these days. If you are capable of making 1 bonehead play a game that is enough justification for you to get cut. EJ is capable of making several bonehead plays a game. He also like Tyrod is incapable of looking off a receiver.
Holy...392 yards of offense in the half? Who is our tight ends coach. Makes you wonder if if we can save our season with a coaching shakeup. As much as I hate the Dolphins I don't mind seeing watt/clowney getting rolled like this.
What's surprising is that people are surprised about the drop off in the D. If you don't have everyone buying in anything can happen. Wanny let up 1200 yards over 2 weeks with a DL featuring Mario Williams at 27 kyle williams at 30 and Marcell at 22.
I always look forward to and thoroughly read the "in no particular order" post. Always balanced well organized and insightful. A must read. Get well soon.
Would interesting to see what Fitz would do with sammy Watkins. For all his faults and limitations Fitz is great at feeding his #1 and if he doesn't have a #1 he will make one. He turned Stevie into a 1 who then slipped into obscurity when Fitz keft. then goes to Tennessee and makes Kendall wright a number 1 who slips back into obscurity when Fitz leaves. Then he makes Deondre Hopkins a 1 in Houston. Now he's resurrecting Brandon Marshalls # 1 stature. Fitz would be feeding sammy 10 plus times without sammy saying a word.
Wade typically has huge initial successes wherever he goes them it wears ôff. He gives the players more freedom and they respond to it well but then they begin to forget the fundamentals.
