Newsom is talented, and probably the most equipped of current Dems to deal with the current bro/meme Republican culture, but he can’t be making too many more missteps like this… He’ll already have to defend California to the Rust Belt and Sun Belt - that’s a big enough mountain to climb without stepping on rakes along the way.

The NFLPA Is Becoming A Sham Organization
RoscoeParrish replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall
Different sport, but the Bucks have to pay Damian Lillard $20M annually over the next 5 years and the Suns are desperately trying to do the same with Bradley Beal to get out of their contracts which is likely going to cripple both franchises. And those combined $40M annual deals is $40M less to give to the other players. Do you think the NFLPA sees the Deshaun Watson contract and result as a win or a loss for their constituents? We are talking about a deal that would only happen for a handful of players at most The bottom line is that the cap keeps going up, the pay keeps going up. There’s more money in not stamping your feet about collusion and they recognize that. -
Thanks! It really was! My wife took me to one of Gordon Ramsays restaurants, Hells Kitchen, at Ceasars for dinner after. One - We were excited to go, but both had low expectations on the food, just thought it would be fun. But the food was on point, everything we had was excellent (Seared Scallops, Lobster Risotto, Ceasar Salad, Beef Wellington, and the Stick Toffee Pudding), we just shared all those items. Our drinks were excellent (although expensive) too. We were surprised, thinking it was a menu from a TV reality show, now a chain as there are multiple locations, etc. But honestly, food we had at least was excellent. NOTE: Gordons Sticky Toffee pudding was maybe the best dessert we have ever eaten, including Italy where he had some amazing things. But two, what we didn't know was that the entire tournament went to Ceasars as they host it every year, so we saw Josh and all the players there, and tons of other other stars, athletes, etc who didn't even play in the practice round who were there. So if anyone ever goes, plan on being at Ceasars Wed Night because they are all there for a private event and then just walking around the casino. We met UFC legend Justin Gaethje, Rob Wiggle, Gary Sheffield, and stuff just gambling a little bit in the casino. Josh was hanging out with Sam Darnold, Trevor Lawerence, and bunch of people like right next to us as we were just passing by to dinner. We stumbled upon that - but now its our plan annually to hit the practice round on Wed and Ceasars for dinner and hangout at night.

I think every fan base goes into the season with their emotions based almost entirely on their prospects for the upcoming season. Sure, a warm glow of a SB victory is nice, but that only carries me so far. I realize that will be unpopular with many who “need” a SB. Maybe that’s why so many people around here seem so miserable? 🤷♂️ I’m more excited about next season than I am disappointed we didn’t win it all last year. I’m not telling anyone else how to feel, but that’s me.

"Ending asylum, revoking legal status, and chasing farmworkers away from the fields is not a solution to the border, which is why I believe that anyone who says that ending asylum, revoking legal status, and chasing farmworkers away from the fields is not a solution to the border is dead wrong." Anyway, back to the topic at hand, aside from the tariffs under IEEPA almost certainly being illegal, the idea that tariffs are to both bring manufacturing back to the US *and* as a negotiating tactic for trade deals is dumb because those goals are mutually exclusive. If you're expecting companies to spend tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in CapEx to build out logistics and operations here, you can't keep changing the tariff regime - it needs to be set in stone. If you're using tariffs to negotiate trade deals, then the tariffs need to be flexible so you can reduce them as part of an agreement or raise them if negotiations aren't going well - they cannot be set in stone. But maybe I'm wrong here too. Maybe Lesotho will move their diamond mining operations to the US.

Offense Qb. Fitz, Bledsoe, Orton Rb, Lynch, Jackson, Spiller WR Evans, Johnson, Price, Woods, Watkins TE Chandler, Royal OT Peters, Glenn, Jennings OG Incognito, Levitre, C Wood Defense Edge Williams, Schobel, Kelsay DT Adams, Dareus, LB Cowart, Fletcher, Spikes CB Clements, Winfield, Mcgee S Byrd, Whitner, Wilson I think Allen is such a difference at Qb. The current roster has a better Oline and think are close everywhere else. -

Pay the man. Cook is a great player. Go short term if you must. But send a Brinks truck full of cash to Cook's house and get the man on the field so that we can go win a Super Bowl!

Maybe it's recency bias... or I had unrealistic expectations because of all the gushing over him on draft night and Jerry Jones looking so sad. You're right that looking back, he did certainly have some good stretches. Hopefully it was just injury related and he will heal up and be back to 100% this season!

Sounds like they're going through the same cycle of decline as the UAW. Once leadership sees themselves as partners with management, you're toast.
