  2. The Alaskan summit is scheduled for Friday, August 15th, in Anchorage, Alaska, between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The primary agenda is to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine, with Trump aiming to assess Putin's seriousness about ending the conflict. Concerns exist among Ukraine and its allies about potential sidelining of Ukrainian interests during the talks. Here's a breakdown of the key aspects: Location and Date: Anchorage, Alaska, on August 15th. Participants: U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Key Issue: The war in Ukraine. Trump's Stance: Trump has warned of "severe consequences" for Russia if Putin is not serious about ending the war. He also hopes the initial meeting could lead to a larger discussion involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Concerns from Ukraine and Allies: There are worries that Ukraine might be marginalized during the talks. Concerns also exist that the meeting could postpone or weaken sanctions against Russia. Trump's Approach: Trump has described the meeting as a "listening exercise". He has also suggested that he might visit Russia after the Alaska summit. The administration has gone out of it's way to avoid calling this meeting as 'negotiations' . This one is just to assess Putin's seriousness about ending the war. The following meeting would include Zelenskyy
  3. Let’s get Beane for this! Can’t let him rest of his Jimbo laurels. Not only was he targeting a position (should always be BPA! Right?), but he didn’t even go Best WR Available. He was in the weeds with body type. Ladd streaking across a deep safety on a skinny post is miles better than some jump balls that are half out of bounds. Take that Beane! (:bows down and begs for forgiveness:)
  4. Gen Z, just know that we Gen Xers wanted you to have the lives we did growing up. The Boomers only care about themselves. Millennials do nothing but complain. Those 2 groups broke everything. Obviously exceptions - there are smart boomers and millennials - they will never vote democrat. i suspect that most of what irks gen X is that we had created a fun, freewheeling, post-racial, minimal-politics society, and a bunch of weakminded thieves of joy came along and politicized the world into unfun, identity-based struggle sessions that made everything they touched horrible and divisive. kids today have no idea how much was taken from them because they have lived their whole lives under wokester warlord hall monitor rule and have never even tasted this joy and freedom. and it's time they did.
  5. Seems like something that easily could have been done in deference to his year in the system though.
  6. Yeah, weird that people would assume that a line with 5 new guys out of probably 10 guys who will see a lot of time would be a bit diff ... oh, wait, it's not silly at all. I've been watching for 50+ years as well. One thing that I learned is that some years things don't change much from the year before, and some years things look totally different. And with so many new guys this year is likely to be the latter. They might be much the same. Or not. No way to know beyond watching the games as they happen. Plenty of guesswork is possible, either way, but at this point it's pure blue-sky stuff.
  7. Not clear at all, not after one preseason game. Not clear at all how guys like Bosa, Hoecht, Sanders, Jackson and Walker will play in this D, nor how others will look playing next to those guys. It didn't look like that's what you were implying, but if it is, then fair enough. But it's just way way way too early to make any more than uneducated guesses as to whether we'll get much pressure and if we do, how. We'll probably have to wait till after week 8 when we get our first look at how the line looks with Hoecht in the mix before we start to get a good idea, though hopefully by that time the rookies will start to have found their feet and started making some kind of impact.

  10. THIS IS NO SURPRISE TO ANYONE WHO’S ACTUALLY TALKED TO PEOPLE:
  11. What a mess! Ralph was somehow a half century behind the times. Buddy didn’t want the job, didn’t know what to do for the job, and the accent was almost unreal. Russ Brandon gets promoted 🤣🤣🤣
  12. 80/20: Anderson Cooper explains the clever trap Trump has set for Democrats after announcing DC crime crackdown that has infuriated liberals. Anderson Cooper thinks Donald Trump has taken over policing in Washington DC to dare Democrats into saying there’s no crime problem in US cities. The CNN star told New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman that the Dems’ decision to highlight falling crime in DC will likely backfire – because so many locals of all political persuasions have recent personal experiences of lawlessness. ‘It’s so interesting,’ Cooper said on his show AC: 360 on Tuesday. ‘The conflict, you know, Democrats face when talking about the policing in the District of Columbia.’ ‘Do you point out statistics of out of a 30-year low as they as the statistics show, and thereby sound like you’re saying, oh, there’s not a crime problem in Washington, DC? Where there’s crime problem everywhere.’ Haberman agreed, conceding: ‘There is a crime problem everywhere.’ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/media/article-14997885/cnn-anderson-cooper-maggie-haberman-dc-trump.html
  13. And so, from a camera's eye view, you are an insider on this? You know how serious this was? Please. You have no idea. Nor do I, but that's the point. None of us have any idea. Not even the Bills, the doctors and Benford know with much detail, but your layman's observations of long-distance camera footage, not knowing what he was thinking or whether he was trying to move means pretty much nothing. Worth $12M AAV, with those contract terms, yes. Don't know what you're laughing about. Most on here opposing re-signing him weren't doing it because they didn't want him, they were against it at the $15M Cook was demanding, and which the Bills did not pay. Heh heh. I like this.
  14. I don't know. I think your narrative here is just as overblown. Nobody argues with the fact that he's more explosive than Davis and Johnson. And yeah, people act like he was just a cog in a rotation. That's what he was. The most important cog, but just a cog. Davis got 50% of Cook's yards from scrimmage on 54% of Cook's snaps. And how many more hits on Josh did Ray and Ty prevent than did Cook? I'm also glad they're limiting his snaps. I agree with you there 100%, that it really raises the chances that his productivity lasts longer and that he avoids injury. We haven't so far seen that he's improved his pass blocking in camp this year, that I've heard anyway. So we use him for situations, the way they did last year, 1st and 2nd downs, and we bench him for others, 3rd downs and short-yardage must-have smash-mouth situations. But we will be more productive with him on the field in those Cook situations. We're a better team with him. The question is (always, for every player) whether the extra money we spend is worth the value of the next-best alternative on how to spend that money, the opportunity cost. My guess is that at $12M AAV the answer is yes, and that at $15M the answer would have been no. But I'd love it if he out-produces my expectations.
  15. This year's Kennedy Center honorees are country singer and Grammy Award-winner George Strait; Broadway actor and singer Michael Crawford, known for originating the lead role in The Phantom of the Opera; the actor Sylvester Stallone, star of the Rocky and Rambo movies; disco singer Gloria Gaynor, known for her women's empowerment anthem "I Will Survive"; and the rock band Kiss. https://www.npr.org/2025/08/13/nx-s1-5500305/kennedy-center-honors-announcement-kiss-strait-gaynor-stallone-crawford-trump

  18. YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT PAINFUL AND EXPENSIVE FOR THEM TO SCREW WITH YOU: Deserves repeating The very first lesson kids need to learn about the Left is that they will NEVER leave you alone.
  19. I never did an NFL charter. They are usually not a good deal time/value wise, so if you're senior you avoid them. My airline always did the Dolphins and Cowboys. One Dolphin game in Buffalo, they had the usual captain, (some teams wanted the same guy every time), and Jim Ritcher was the FO. He got hired after his NFL career, and I flew Europe with him a few times. I did a (then) New Jersey Nets charter from JFK to London Heathrow, but not an NFL trip.
  20. You’re absolutely right, let’s get this done!
  21. We all see that “playing out his deal” was never going to happen. Cook’s team played this so well. Doesn’t seem like any bad blood drama at all. The Bills nailed it too.. We cannot spare this man. He runs! Keon Coleman has to be looking at this and realizing that if he carves out his role that’s essential to team success, he’ll get his too. These two dudes know they aren’t going be the greatest of all time at their positions. So Winning is their path to being paid for their services.
  22. "he's good off the hoof"
  23. To think some folk don’t seem to remember what a sh-t show things were for so long, and they want to fire the very people who created what we are currently enjoy so much, odd to say the least, these are the good old days! GO BILLS!!!
