Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
GunnerBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
From people I heard from Hairston was actually very open and front footed about it with teams pre-draft. That doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong but I think teams felt like they did at least have his full side of the story. -

We may be reading different Books. Corinthians: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. -

He was on his school visit in March. I believe he was 17 and had graduated high school early. At least that is what I remember from the victims story. When she tried to bring charges against him she didn’t even know he was a football player and not even a student yet. The school squashed it and then she saw him on the football team in the fall and felt betrayed by the university. -

Legally it might not have succeeded at trial as you say but we all know what happened here. A media company got busted for purposely changing a candidate's (they favored) answer to put them in a positive light. Whether that had a quantitative impact on votes is hard to say. But the damage is done. Nobody should trust CBS news ever again. What else are they spinning? -

I don't think so. Terrell Pryor was suspended 5 games for the heinous crime of selling his gold pants😆 Well well, looks like Beane knew & drafted him anyway. Are the Bills following Cleveland's model? -

McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.
FireChans replied to 14774's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, sorry. There's at least 10 coaches in the NFL right now that I think are able to clown Mac Jones and old broken Cam Newton and Zach Wilson and Mike White and Skylar Thompson and Bailey Zappe with Josh Allen at QB for 5 straight seasons. It's really just not that impressive. My old take is that if you have to debate if a player is good all the time, they probably aren't. We used to debate Tyrod and Fitzy all day every day. The moral of the story was that they weren't good. We don't debate Josh Allen, because there is no reason to. We debate McD every day. I'm leaning toward he's in the Tyrod Taylor tier of HCs. -

I’ve said my peace on this during the draft weekend. everyone got mad at me for what I said then So I won’t go into it anymore but I will state that this is just another bad move in an offseason filled with them from Brandon beane. also, I believe in the victims social media posts from the time period of this happening she said other girls came forward to her that he did the same to them. If that ends up being true and the team knew this potential risk, why on earth was he drafted? When you take players like this in the first round when you had other options that is on the GM. If Donovan Ezeriaku is as good as the DFW media has been saying he has looked and Hairston washes out because of off the field stuff…I mean these are why GM’s get fired. but again oh well, as fans we have to sit back and wait for the conclusion to this. I know I am more than tired of hearing guys like McDermott talk about his imaginary friend every time he opens his mouth but then is perfectly okay with Von miller beating up his girlfriend. hopefully Hairston did not rape this young woman or anyone else and if he did he should be off the roster ten minutes after finding out. I am trying to not get too involved in this thread but why on earth would the schools findings be of any concern. not a single one of these big athletic schools should ever be trusted on any of these matters. For decades schools have been intimidating witnesses, threatening victims, hiding evidence and colluding with local police and judges. go watch the Ohio state documentary on hbo and get back to me on how much the school cares about these types of issues. -

Again Frank, you're an attorney and considering the legal ramifications, I'm a guy who looks at common sense and the job a journalist should reasonably be expected to do. I don't position myself as a trusted source with impeccable credentials, that's what they do. It strikes me as dishonest and duplicitous, and that's more of a job for politicians and lobbyists. As a result, they should probably expect that when the tide turns, they are treated like politicians and lobbyists. As for success at trial, seems to me they decided the risk was not worth the potential for an adverse outcome. With respect to the FCC, I'm no more or less concerned or offended (as a citizen) by that than Letitia James determination to reinvent that which we know to be true, Alvin Bragg creating a novel approach to imprison a political enemy, or the Special Prosecutor inadvertently scoffing off with attorney/client (and other) documents and pinky-swearing not to look at 'em. Actually, I'm much more concerned about the latter, the former just represents a large corporation settling with the government over some injustice. That's pretty run of the mill.

I know the 2015 Broncos lost their QB. So they won the Super Bowl without a franchise level QB. You stated that if Fox or Del Rio would have gotten them to 8 wins. Why? Then why aren't they HC's in the NFL? -

I think that's the wrong take. You don't have to be a top 5 team if you have an elite, all-time side of the ball. The 2000 Ravens weren't a top 5 team, but they were a top 1 defense. Ditto with the Broncos. There's a fluke aspect of it sure. No one builds a team and says, "we don't care if the offense is mediocre if the defense is Hall of Fame level elite." It just kinda happens. But make no mistake. It happened for the 2015 Broncos because they changed coaches. That unit was not breaking records with Del Rio. -

Ain't that hard? Then why is there only a handful of coaches who won 5 or more consecutive division titles? Here they are....Andy Reid, Bill Belicheck, Vince Lombardi and Sean McDermott. Soooooooo easy.
