TJ Watt Speculation after Pickens trade (Nothing Official)
Alphadawg7 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
A guy who’s already had injuries you see playing at a high level until he is 36? And at a position where 32 commonly begins the falling off a cliff portion of their careers? I wouldn’t bank on that. I’m all for adding him because all I care about right now is winning the Super Bowl this year. But to expect him to be a high end player for 6 more years is a low percentage bet. For context: His brother JJ Watt is 36 now and been retired since 2022 and only had one good season in his 30’s. -
One - there is 0% chance to be WR3. Our top 3 guys are without question Keon, Palmer, and Shakir. Only injuries could change that. Two - We aren’t likely keeping 6 WR, and if we do it would be to keep a ST player only like Shenault as a returner. Especially with all the new guys brought in for the secondary and DL. So to bring him means at least Moore would be gone. He would be a backup here playing more as a WR4/5 with Samuel at best. And we still have Kincaid and the RBs (who all 3 RBs catch and made up 20% of Allen’s target last year). That means Davis would be coming here for a role that is destined for 10-30 catches at best without injuries creating more opportunities. Do you really think Davis is going to choose that minimal role over a team where he could compete to start or at least be an actual WR3? Seems less likely to me than him going to a team with a bigger need and potential role like Giants, Steelers, Pats, Ravens, Sea, SF, etc.

He showed potential here. Had no interest in resigning him last year for the money he wanted. Vet minimum? Sure, bring him in. Much more than that? Nope.

It is Bosa for me. We have missed that pass rush to bring down Mahomes in the playoffs...We need him to get to the QB in key moments.

Taylor Elgersma - Practice Squad in 2025 ???

They say no other fan base is as obsessed with the practice squad QB as the Buffalo Bills -
Too many times where he was either not on the same page with Josh or tipped targets that resulted in ints. Hard pass on Gabe.

Maybe. They need guys to throw to the pass catchers. They may just call up Buechele and/or White to do that. Unlikely that whomever they invite will be signed if they do though. They don't bring more than 4 to Camp and they've had Buechele around for a while. I doubt any Undrafted that's floating around now unsigned is going to make them cut him. -
He did make clutch catches/

I think if Beane can get another team to take back Samuel then I would be happy to bring back Davis
-
You either don't like Keon, or you overrate Palmer. People can tell me that Palmer gets open all they want, but the production just isn't there, and him being pushed out of the starting lineup also speaks to him not being as good as you and others here claim. I think Palmer is a bust signing by Beane and that his production will not justify the contract we gave him. Keon has a much better chance of actually being more productive in this offense

Didn't even make it past the first "if" in this scenario 😄 -
Yes, well, it's also clear why you weren't so anxious about the non-elite WR room, but so be it. There was another thread where unacceptability was on display across the board. Joe Marino is, in fact, a bitter fella obsessed with the injustice of the actual podcaster, worse, Doc Brown is not Christopher Lloyd, GunnerBill is actually a dental assistant from Hoboken (the whole British accent thing is a function of electronic AI), etc. I do not judge, nor do I make any confessions regarding Gallifrey. At least I can rest content, relieved that you are straightforward and honest at the Defense household. Given your extreme sensitivity to careful distinctions, and at the risk of pedantry, I must tell you that there is a common confusion unfortunately present in your brief post. Complementary football is, I suppose, as the coaches like to say, all three phases of the game. Complimentary football is when the opposing side acknowledges fine play, and instead of trash talking, claps politely, even when scored upon. As you may surmise, this latter version of the game is not very popular in North America, though I'm told it is favored in Iceland, Denmark, and Singapore.

He has the dropsies.
-
No thanks. Don't need to see 2 route Davis have more miscommunications and 50% drop rates. That and his typical yearly injury that is used as an excuse for why he is bad all season.

I think Cook is a star on this team based on last years play. I'd like to see that carry into this season as well. 15 mil is a lot for a RB especially when he has only really had one great year. I don't think many RBs deserve or should be paid that kind of money. However, if they are going to continue to cheap out on WR then they might as well pay a RB.
