I will continue to harp on this very question: what happens when an opposing defense is able to bottle up the run game and attack the quick/short passing attack? How does Brady respond? (Might depend on how the Bills D holds up, of course.) Looks to me like the WR Allen is targeting has won his route. The single high S is reacting, but a good "honey hole" shot throw should get the job done. Also, the WR to the field side boundary has enough sideline leverage that Allen could fire in a backside shoulder piss missile IF that WR gets his head around. That was a damning sequence in my opinion. It was obvious to the entire NFL that the Chiefs were prepared to stop that specific play. Failing to recognize that reality and then adjust in-game was just too obviously stubborn and conservative. Brady is often reluctant or even refuses to leverage his own play calling success and predictability on the snap BEFORE the defense adjusts to shut it down. He seemingly waits until the snap is wasted, rather than staying a step ahead. I've become very annoying and repetitive about this, apparently.

I was ecstatic when we picked Bosa up. My favorite signing of the offseason. The ultimate boom or bust player. And man he is booming. I hope McDermott & Babich don’t run him into the ground by week 11.

No way Allen runs the ball in practice without hearing from the boss. I think you go heavy to stop the RBs and TEs. Run blitz often and really bang into the TEs and RBs on the way, in case it's a pass. We don't yet know how Brady will or won't adjust to a defense who shuts down the run, do we? Will he remain patient and deliberate (and stubborn) in imposing the run and short area passing game? Or will he identify and try to exploit the downfield matchups/openings presented by a defense schematically committed to taking away the run and dominating the LOS? -
Daboll still might be a good OC! hes not a good HC, well find out on the OC though. Brady was stacked with weapons at LSU, but his team put up a boatload of points with the most mehhh group. And that offense was pass first, so we atleast know hes had success with different offense types. Hes a young cat figuring it out too. I don't think you'll hear anyone confusing him with Shannon or McVay, but yes I believe hes an objectively good OC! Hes built a strong offensive identity within our strengths as a team. Josh still gets to be Josh with less pounding. MISTAKE FREE** which is how the good teams always manage to win close games that feel like a coin flip. Our base offense gives us super predictable, easy to replicate results, that don't require hall of fame, low % probability type plays to eeek out a win. I think hes good, probably in the top third. I think he has what it takes to continue to grow too. Side note, not a prediction by me. Sometimes mid coordinators, can grow to be better HCs. I could see Brady being good at it with the right staff. Hes a leader of men, earns respect of his guys, so they buy in, and play hard for him. He doesn't have to dick around fighting and disciplining players, thats a distraction.

Would’ve been awesome to see a prime Allen face off against Brady. -

The issue with this is that while the Bills pass rushers DO individually generate some pressure, they don't often win reps across the LOS as a unit, thereby leaving escape route(s) for mobile QBs (like Maye) to exploit. -

Sunday papers were great thing, big sports page, colored comics, a pile of ad's and lots of news and features. Why they haven't just kept Sunday as a print copy and made the rest of the week digital makes no sense. The local paper The Elmira Star Gazette is worthless now, they mail it to you which shows how current it is and theres no Saturday edition you get the Sunday edition in the mail Saturday LOL -

My best to your family. I hope and pray that she recovers fully. She is fortunate to have family that loves and supports her. That kind of support will go along way to helping her get better. Write to the Bills and see if they will send her good wishes to her recovery. My guess is they will. That should brighten her day. -

Patriots 24 Bills 27 Bills defense is not superbowl caliber…They should at least make the divisional round because of the offense…after that is anyone’s guess… -

I want to agree with you, I do. And it has to be right, doesn't it? But we haven't seen a ton of evidence to support that hope, have we? It's tough after watching the 49ers 2nd string offense last night do some things through the air against the Rams 1st string defense, (the Rams also did some things through the air), and comparing that to what we're seeing out of the Bills thus far. I know that running the ball has immense value, but just imagine Allen playing QB for Johnson, McVay, Shanahan, O'Connell, et al...wow. There is something to be said for well designed and executed passing attacks; it's fun. Ever since (and probably before) Air Coryell. The K-Gun, for example, was a balanced offense, but would aggressively hammer those intermediate and deep routes if they were there. Keep the defenses spread out and guessing. Give the fans some bang for their buck. -

I don’t think he would have succeeded as a jet given the many other problems they had. I also think the ny media would have affected him because he was from a small town in Fresno and went to Wyoming in college. He was never exposed to the big city media you’d get in nyc. -

I get the AJC Sunday paper and this one really stings Augie—I’m weird like that I guess—I’m a Gen Xer but I love the experience of reading the actual newspaper and not endless popup scrolling on my phone. I figured the size of the metro market and healthy subscriber base relatively speaking would insulate the print version, but alas… -

I recall the courier express and Tonawanda news. i was a Buffalo News delivery boy as a teen and also delivered the pennysaver flyer once a week. local newspapers people really need to support. They ideally provide oversight over the local govt, police, and businesses. Many do not realize these things. -
This means nothing when you suit up and take the field…Just look at the Saints last week…I would not be shocked if the Bills lost their first game this week or next…Any given Sunday…

I agree with almost all of this. But I'm not convinced we can't throw downfield. When we needed to throw downfield in the 4th against the Ravens, we did so with spectacular results. It's also worth noting that we play against a lot of nickel with two deep safeties. Opponents are more-or-less letting us beat them with Cook's 4 & 5-yard carries, but they're determined not to let us dice them up with Josh's deep throws. Having said all that, we don't have elite wideouts and I'm not sure the downfield passing game is Brady's forte. So maybe there's some truth to what you said. But Brady is good at taking what defenses give him and puts a lot of points on the board. -
He has been awesome. It is so nice to have a good pass rusher versus just a good defensive end. He actually finishes and makes splash plays.

I did too in Snyder. Winter at 5 am in Buffalo is cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey. -
As a further point of reference, in Brady's 33 games (RS & playoffs), the Bills have scored under 20 points only twice; the Baltimore Beatdown (10 pts), and the Trubisky started game against NE to finish last season (16 pts). That's it.

Where’s the juice at the position of Wide Receiver?
GunnerBill replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was fractionally late and Keon did a nice job on that rep, no doubt. He had separation and room to make the catch. But it was also a great play by the rookie safety. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap and say the other guys get paid too.
