  1. Past hour
  2. That makes sense, I haven’t watched a lot of their games since Manning retired so it’s really just the bigger names and not what they are actually doing or expected of. I do remember him for the Tar Heels and he was solid. That Dowdle point is on it. Surprised they let Dowdle and Pollard walk in back to back years. Dowdle certainly impressed and is continuing to do so for Carolina since he got the chance. Sometimes it’s a change of scenery and opportunity I guess.
  3. That's an issue that is true but the NFL prides itself on its strict drug testing whether you want to believe them or not I know our dude is coming back from popping positive but he even said it was not from long-term steroid abuse that he actively was doing But that he stopped checking up with all the supplements his trainer was giving him to make sure they were NFL legal and obviously some was tainted But he doesn't seem like a perennial ped popper like Brian Cushing But yes those types of drugs that increases muscle mass doesn't increase your tendons or ligament strength and that's major reason why they are blowing out nowadays
  4. He re-established both feet before touching it.
  5. What a terrible play call there…
  6. Arizona defender went out of bounds and touched it first?
  7. “If you can run, throw, block, tackle, catch, and kick better than your opponent, you're going to win…so let’s go to work”
  8. Walter Nolen showing up a bunch. Gotta love the way Arizona came to play. Good for them.
  9. The NFL is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise where by players are valued contractual commodities as well as individually incentivized businessmen. It's remarkable to believe that neither the team or the players “understand their bodies” - it's simply absurd. Flexibility and stretching? My God, how come no one has thought of that? Forget the tens of millions spent to keep the players healthy when all they needed to do was read this board.
  10. Uncharacteristic mistake by Pickens there.
  11. That's why Tomlin got rid of Pickens
  12. That last was exactly my thought. If you're not going to disclose something out of respect for the player, then don't disclose it. Sheesh, McDermott. Asked the Google machine and found this: https://www.itnonline.com/content/nfl-prospects-undergo-medical-screening They mention 300 draft prospects getting screened. ~250 players get drafted. Now whether all 300 get MRI exams of their neck and spine, can't say.
  13. Yes, and if they do, it shows you that Beane has been consistently wrong (which of course he'll never admit cuz his ego is bigger than his brain) on not using nearly enough of our draft capital on quality wide receivers in the higher rounds that could have been on cost-controlled contracts for 4 to 5 years (it would have also helped our constant bad cap situation, including minimizing to some degree a lot of his bad contracts). And specifically if they do a mid-season acquisition of a receiver yet again, what does that say about Beane always pushing back on that narrative every year. We all remember him bashing Jeremy White, well this would be mea culpa on his part. That is, his hand being forced to do the obvious, which most everybody with even a pea brain has known for years, including the smart loyal fans, that he has consistently under invested with middling wide receiver weapons for years thinking it's enough for Josh and Josh has unfortunately, had to make the best of it basically. Just like last year mid season, bringing in Amari Cooper for a third round pick. Why is he doing this constantly if he's so right, because each year a hammer finally hits him over the head with the obvious midway through the season because of the loud criticism and what we see on the field that what we have at the wide receiver position, is not nearly enough, duh! And then he has to constantly backtrack, never of course admitting that he's mismanaged the wide receiver position, and that we need more weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Another problem is he's had a ton of bad pics over the years that has exaggerated the situation where he's had to go back to the same areas over and over again because he's gotten it wrong so many times, which has been mostly along the defensive line.
  14. Oh, he just grew 'older'.
  15. HIPAA protects players on some level, although one might wonder if the league's limited antitrust exemptions open the door to whatever degree of transparency we DO see. Compare the NFL injury reporting to the NHL, for example. Fans, and bettors alike, would go insane seeing designations like "lower body."
  16. There was a Bills player (not regarded as particularly cerebral) who being interviewed by Dunne about a concussion which left him lying on the field initially unable to move. Dunne asked if he thought about retiring. He said "no". "Why not? Why take that risk?" The player asked Dunne if he'd had a concussion. Dunne said , "actually not too long ago, playing basketball in a rec league". Player said "You took the risk of a concussion for a game you played for free. I'm taking the risk for over a million dollars to set up my kids and my family for life." Dunne pretty much had nothing to respond to that.
  17. I can understand Denver moving on. He was a 2nd round pick that never really moved the needle for them and didn't seem like he was going to come back from his injury. They would have had to give him a new contract and decided to look elsewhere. Sort of like the Bills moving on from Zach Moss. He had some success after he left but nothing Earth shattering. Even this year, he's been decent for Dallas but I'd argue Rico Dowdle has been the better player that Dallas let walk.
  18. If you take the “not progressing” at face value, it would at least suggest something they thought might heal with conservative management, like the initial approach with Eichel and his herniated disc. Hopefully it’s a case of clumsy wording by McDermott, like the shitstorm he started about his “concern” with Diggs not being at practice a few seasons back, and not actually career threatening. Maybe the bad news is they have to shut him down for the season and the conversations were around the need for surgery. Regardless, leaving this turd floating in the punch bowl the way he did, McDermott didn’t do Strong any favors. If they weren’t ready to have this conversation in public he should have been more tight lipped. I can only imagine that Strong’s phone has been blowing up all day after this.
  19. Yeahhhh here we go About to be a 3 point game. Every Cowboys game is the same script Hopeless, everyone booing, commentators dogging them, then suddenly they score at will
  20. Put him as a safety and Tua can still chuck bombs to him all day as well.
  21. Heck of a play by Kenny Clark!
  22. Couldn’t see the opener with this YouTube TV/espn spat. Looks like Kyle looked great. hopefully JJ isn’t out too long.
