it sucks but that's the reality of the league for the last decade+ its just not smart and if those runs need to get converted into passes so much the better
-
That's just the nature of where he slots, being the latest RB to get paid.

There are still far too many people, including those with large platforms, who frame this as a story the media simply botched. That is completely wrong. Framing it that way does a real disservice. The media was an integral part of the plot against Trump. Some outlets, like ABC, were working directly with and for the Clinton campaign. Others, like the Washington Post, were working directly with and for the intelligence services. Some did both. But none of them botched anything. They were part of the operation.

Good analysis. I'm impressed by board members who can work thru these team-by-team matters rather quickly. (Then again, I'm a self-reported dumb sh*t on these types of things)

Who says he can't handle more? He averaged less than 15 touches per game. He should be seeing 20 plus. 2 receptions per game ain't it for a guy like Cook.
-
hes a good player. no dispute hes getting talked about like he's a top5 back

100%. I think the lighter OTA's cause an issue. -
Apples and oranges. You know as well as I do the weapon that Cook is. He can score at any time.

Yeah, i have a note for Sept. 3rd to cancel the subscription on my iPhone.

I am pretty sure you also didn't watch Montana play as from my recollection you were not watching football back then and didn't become a big fan until much later. So no disrespect, if my recollection is accurate, you can't reasonably weigh in on this having not watched Joe's entire career. I watched both, and I can tell you 2 things: Brady is the GOAT, no other QB has a career resume that can match because he played longer and through that accomplished more than anyone. May never even be equalled. But - It is not so clear who the best QB was on the filed in their primes on any given Sunday. To be fair, I have the same issue at RB when IMHO Barry Sanders is the clear GOAT at RB - But I also didn't watch Jim Brown play and can't really refute when someone argues he was for example. Basketball has a similar debate - Lebron is going to hold more records, more stats, more Finals appearances, etc than Jordan because he has played longer between coming out of High School and still playing at an elite level this late in his career nearly 40 - but doesn't mean he was a better player than Jordan. But depending on how one views them, an argument can be made both ways. But no disagreement, Brady has the resume to lock down GOAT title, and deserves it. Still doesn't mean that head to head in their prime he was a better than Montana. I am not even saying it was Montana, I am just saying it is a legitimate debate.

We dodged a bullet with Hairston and his knee scare, and Shakir at least has time to rest before he needs two healthy ankles. I’d be much more upset if he were hurt a week or two (or three) from now. The list is long, but I’m sure most of these injuries are just being treated cautiously. All things considered, if we don’t add to the list significantly I’ll be happy with how we survived the worst part of “football season”, the part that doesn’t count. .

It wasn't an elite season but he did have some elite plays that you have to accept losing once he leaves. A lot of RBs don't get some of those long TD runs he had. Or a couple of the red zone TDs where he outran a defender to the pylon. Or the 4th down TD in the AFCCG that kept us in the game. I can't pretend those plays weren't important so if the idea is never pay RBs unless they're the elite of the elite, I get it, but those plays have to be replaced or else you are just choosing to take a step back on offense. I don't trust this regime to replace those plays because historically they have not put a lot of resources into explosive skill players.

Check your cable provider. I get HBO as part of my cable package - no additional charge, but commercials.

Just started my HBO subscription for the month
-
Yes. There's 5 episodes with the last on Sept. 2nd.
-
So if I sign up for this HBO Max for 9.99 for the month, that's all I need, correct? That's actually not bad at all money wise. Very excited for the show.
-
Well for sure... I was teasing about the rubber mats and bike thing... but I am not sure this is the best decision for him especially if it becomes acrimonious... and move into him sitting out... I cannot image that would add value on the outside for a contract. Flip side is from his point... and if I get hurt what does that do... I just hope this resolves pleasantly...

There is 0% chance Cook gets $17M+, IMO. That's crazy.
-
I signed up to HBO Max for a month so let's go. Looking forward to it.

Cook is not going to be traded this year. He’ll either sign an extension or play out the season and become a FA (and get us a comp pick).
