If that’s the case then he really needs to hire Ozzie Newsome as a consultant to not botch the first 3 rounds and kick McD out of the room entirely

And yet, Dallas is 5-5-1; K.C. is 6-5; Cinn is 3-8 (obviously w/o Burrow). Not saying I wouldn't gladly accept a stud #1 WR on the Bills---but all three of those teams may not make the playoffs this year. The Bills have 7 wins and are still 6th place in scoring (despite the up-and-down slump). K.C., Cincinnati, and Philadelphia have all scored fewer points than the Bills. Only Dallas has scored more (9 more points across 11 games, or 0.8181 points/game). Again, I'm not saying I don't want a stud receiver on the team, but having a stud receiver or even two stud receivers still does not guarantee anything. And before you say we have Josh, those teams have Mahomes, Dak, Hurts, and Burrow/Flacco...not chopped liver. Plus, the 2025 draft was not great for receivers. We were not going to go up to #8 for McMillian, if we went up to #19 from #30 for Egbuka, we would have had to give up at least a 2nd rounder as well---but that seems to have been the only move to make, and who knows if we could have gotten up there or not if we tried). Only 3 other receivers were drafted in the top 50 (Jayden Higgins, Matthew Golden, and Luther Burden). Judging by their stats on their respective teams, I'm not sure any of them would have been help this year. In 2024, the only real move to make was to go up to 23 for Brian Thomas, Jr. (which is what I was hoping for at the time). He had a very good rookie year, but hasn't quite lived up to it in year two. So, who knows. I guess we also could have drafted Ladd, but I understand them thinking he wasn't the type of receiver we needed. That's really it (I'm not sold on Worthy yet). I doubt we could have moved up to spots 4, 6 or 9 from 28 for any of the top three guys (we would have needed another first round selection, which we didn't have, or give up say 2025 1st and our 2024 4th round picks or our 2024 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th round picks). In 2025 free agency, Davante Adams was the only stud WR available (going to LAR). In 2024 free agency, Calvin Ridley was the only big WR available. One each year, with 32 teams. As far as trades: 2024: Keenen Allen and Davante Adams (other name WR trades included Deandre Hopkins, Cooper to Bills, and Diggs). 2025: Pickens and Metcalf (Meyers). So, between FA and trades, basically three stud WRs each of the last two years moved (again, with 31 teams each whom may want them). I mean, maybe it isn't as easy as we think to just go out and get a stud #1 WR. And that's before even talking about contracts and cap. But, having said all of that, I also have no issue with fans wishing Brandon took more shots at the WR position at least.

I want Allen to have weapons like Jerry Rice & John Taylor
-
No, they don't. Other than Mahomes the last player in that Will Anderson/Jalen Carter type impact area for the Chiefs was Chris Jones 10 years ago.........well before their SB run began and pre-dating the McBeane era. Their drafting largely mirrors that of Buffalo since the McBeane era began. They just had a head start with Kelce, Tyreek and Jones all in place while the Bills basically nuked their roster in 2017 and started from scratch.

Because I didn’t bet on the Texans. i made a post on the board last week about how the Texans +5.5 is the play of the week (even if we won, Texans had only lost twice at home this season and it was by 1 and 2 points, to good teams). I felt the same way towards KC -2 (they were on a heater) and Bucs +5.5, so I was 0-2 when betting against the Bills this season. I mentioned how if it weren’t for the fact I wagered too much on those 2 lines, I would totally be in on Bucs +5.5 to keep the streak going and give us some good luck. So I apologized to Bills fans in advance and here we are. I am fine with “paying for Bills wins”, but my bank account, not so much. If I placed that bet, Gabe Davis gets 2 feet in bounds. I am so sorry.

You make good points… I thinks it’s also important to note that Beane was never a “football talent evaluator” type of GM…Beane comes from the money side of things- he’s a salary cap guy, accounting. He was never the type of person that had an eye for talent. Therefore, he needs to rely on the guys around him, to really give him the X’s and O’s about player evaluation…👍

Some say "it's not like they didn't try!" As if that matters. Trying isn't the job. Results are the job. Everybody tries. I don't blame Pegula for not firing Beane yet because the season hasn't played out. What if we go to the Super Bowl?

I mean, yeah? Great WRs have been making game changing plays since the inception of the NFL and their importance has only grown over time. Watching something like 75% of the fanbase pretend otherwise was like waking up to find that flat earth theory had become the dominant point of view. People on here literally said having a true WR1 is bad for your offense because they want the ball too much. The one bright spot of this season is we can permanently bury that insane take. Unfortunately the people in charge of the team led the brigade on that take - they even sold merchandise off of the idea - so hopefully they'll be buried along with it as soon as possible.
-
I'm just speculating but because the cast came off, I'm assuming he's getting closer to 100%. And it's something he can play through and be fine for the playoffs

We have been brutal on the road this year. I get that we have a talent deficit and play calling has been buns but the uncharacteristic penalties, turnovers, and complacency/lack of effort is what’s making the difference between wins and losses. The field in the AFC is nothing special. Need to get back to basics, start peaking toward the end of the season, get in and anything is possible.
-
We are closer to getting rid of McBeane than we have ever been. I really think it can be done within 3 years.
-
Hope you’re right on the pats but I trust a Vrabel coached team over a mcd coached team in the playoffs And the rivers led colts and Rudolph led Steelers were “inferior” teams that played pretty well against us too in the wildcard round
-
Allen with the Browns WRs instead of the Bills and their defense under Schwartz… IDK, I think he could do it.
-
There are superstars found throughout the draft. Amonra st brown and max crosby both were 4th rounders. The eagles took a stud DB who helped them win a SB last year- he went after Coleman. Ladd mcconkey was after Coleman too. In fact there’s a number of great rookies this year taken, after tj sanders, including some of the highest rated at CB S and DE, all positions we needed. You couldn’t be more wrong

Can Adversarial Poetry Save Us From A.I.?
US Egg replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall
To A.I. or not to A.I. That is the question -
If Atlanta subbed Marty in up 28-3 they easily win that Super Bowl. Every huge comeback involves turnovers and bad management by the other team. Atlanta did all of that and still almost won if not for a phantom holding call taking them out of FG range up 8 with about 2 minutes to go.

That Miami game was a joke as they actually were a flawed inferior team, but we were also done after the Hamlin situation. Almost lost to the Pats the week before and didn’t even show up against the Bengals week after. Last year we blew the doors off the Broncos. Regarded as having a Top 3 Defense. This year, of all the teams in the mix, all are “good” and all have visible weaknesses. Pats being inexperience (if it matters, maybe it won’t). They’re very solid, no major weaknesses until now.. their OL will be an issue moving forward if Campbell & Wilson go the way it’s looking. They’re also not exactly playing many heavyweight games. Yes, they beat us.. Who’s their next best win? Carolina, Tampa? They don’t have the experience of playing healthy Baltimore or Kansas City in a big spot. Im not down on them.. I just need to see it. Kind of like how I needed to see it from Indy today, only for them to meltdown under the pressure after an early lead they carried until crunch time.

One of the most important things for the Bills to have a chance down the stretch requires that our pass rush is at LEAST capable of generating pressures again. Joey Bosa has been completely ineffective for 3 weeks due to his injured wrist. And Rousseau only seems to play well as a complementary pass rusher. Can someone explain to me how we are not better off letting Bosa sit out for 2-3 weeks and allow his wrist to heal a bit? If our best pass rusher is barely functional due to a bad wrist when the playoffs start, what's the point of making the playoffs at all? If we are going to have any chance, it would entail allowing our defense to get as healthy as possible. What am I missing? Unless this is a situation where a few weeks of rest won't do anything for Bosa's wrist, then I don't understand what we are doing here. He's not helping us in his current state.

might explain why Dion has been off …

Im rooting for all these guys, and they're rusty old vets. I just don't see how they're getting us to the dance. I do know they'll play their hearts out. But it makes me upset seeing an older Tre get ran past. Taron Johnson was trying his best vs the Texans.... It's like watching an older boxer just barely hanging on. But I'm hoping like all of us Tre White or Milano , maybe Shaq make a great play in the playoffs to send us to the Superbowl. Gabe Hall - eagles ps dt/de Evan Anderson - 49ers dt Cobee Bryant - falcons cb Jabbar Muhammad - cb can't remember which team Chris Paul Jr - lb - Seahawks These are all rookies or younger guys on teams practice squads that are intriguing. Lots of trusted ppl like their tape I don't understand why Beane hasn't tried to get one of them. At least try
-
This week we'll basically end Pittsburgh's season. Steelers cannot beat a good team unless they get a blocked punt, kickoff return or 2-3 turnovers If all that happens it'll be a close game in the 4th quarter. Otherwise, we steamroll them because it's what we always do after a bad loss. From there we just need a couple wins to make it. It's almost a sure thing.
-
This is a serious indictment of the scouting staff. To not have anyone in mind, at literally any position, from another teams practice squad is inexcusable.

Going to suck so bad. Moving to the new house and this team's window may have already closed. I feel so bad for Josh and the incompetence he's forced to deal with in this front office. But hey, I hear Shaq Lawson is back in town. 🙄
