Gotta go where the people are. Going to a hotel bar isn't the same as getting raving drunk at a hotel bar. The ability for a 20 something to go out in a social setting where alcohol is present and act appropriately demonstrates maturity that many can't.

My sister lives in Appleton, and that’s where the Bills stayed when they played there a few years ago. It was kind of cool watching the team come off the buses at the hotel. It was also cool how I kept hearing “welcome to Wisconsin” as I went around town wearing my Bills gear.

What Does "Due Process" Mean?
K D replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So the British invade and they have to capture them 1 by 1 and have a jury trial? Riiiiight. That's not what they intended and you know it. -
If this goes on an energy vector, I'm not interested, because I don't think the Iran issue has anything to do with our interest in this, which is legitimate and important. Iran is run by a lunatic who thinks he is directed by Allah to destroy not only Israel, but the rest of the non Muslim world. Energy is a red herring, in my view.

I had a fun time in Green Bay. It was great seeing Lambeau Field and I love the draft. The Packer fans were great and it was neat seeing all the neighborhood houses right next to the stadium. That being said, I wasn't staying in Green Bay. It was too damn expensive. I had to fly into Milwaukee, which was a lot cheaper than flying into Green Bay, and I had to stay in Appleton, which was a good 30 miles away from Green Bay. The price gouging by the local businesses is disgusting, so you have to watch your money. Thankfully there wasn't any of that in Appleton. Green Bay was nice, but still too small for the event.

Israel and Iran
The Frankish Reich replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As far as geopolitical risks to the U.S.: given our energy independence/dominance, I'd say that the Russian New Imperialism is a much more serious one. I notice that oil imports (other than Venezuela) were not tariffed. Why not? If you want to encourage U.S. production and marginalize the Middle East as a threat to U.S. security, that would seem to me to be the best solution. After all, a cartel is kind of the definition of a manipulated market. But I guess Trump couldn't stomach the fear of increased prices at the pump. Off topic, Sherpa, and probably belongs in the tariffs thread: would you expect tariffs on European (and other) wine imports to impact your wine business? My guess is that they won't, and that world trade in wine and encourages the development of wine aficionados (to use a snobby term) and is ultimately good for small producers everywhere, and that something like tariffs on foreign wine will be counterproductive. Maybe it would help at the very low end, but I can't see any help for smaller or boutique U.S. wineries. Thoughts? -

The Frankish Reich replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well they did require due process, so they didn't make it impossible, just a little more fair. Sorry if you don't like it; maybe this isn't the country and constitution for you? -

That must've taken some time. Well done. Best was the 31-0 stomping we did of the Patriots. Sam Adams making the Sports Illustrated cover was actually considered a big deal back in the day. Let's just not talk about the regular season finale that year. The worst was pry the Jags game on that last second TD given the hype that came before that season. I think the home loss as heavy favorites to the Steelers in 2021 should be much lower. -
What is your favorite totally random Bills game?

The "Just give it to them" game. I remember Moulds having this one handed catch that was mind blowing. -
There's really no good reason why the Republican House and Republican Senate haven't proposed making certain immigration "reforms" - like this one - the law by proposing a new statute. Could you get half a dozen Dem Senators on record supporting this, or even a more robust (maybe $5,000) payment? I'm sure you could. You'd also want a new law saying that if you take the deal and leave on time your previous unauthorized stay would be pardoned if you try to come back legally. I don't oppose this in principle, but I do oppose how they want to do it. Will we ever get serious proposals rather than tweet-friendly press releases?

Yeah, but this is Big City Buffalo, those prices won’t be an issue here. I mean look how few are complaining about ticket prices at the new stadium. We got cool in Buffalo. It snows in April. You’d pass on coming here for the draft? We got bigger parking lots than Green Bay.

First paragraph: "(the Constitution) doesn’t permit foreigners to enter the US without going through the proper channels" The previous administration unconstitutionally allowed illegal threats into our country. The only result of that is people go to jail or everyone who they let in is removed and then no harm no foul. By your interpretation, a foreign army could penetrate our border and then we aren't allowed to remove them. So it allows for an invasion? That's ridiculous and makes no sense. Imagine the founding fathers who just kicked out the British to be like "we need to make it impossible to kick out people from other countries who are here illegally." -

Ranking The Last 25 Years of Week 1 Opening Games
Gregg replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just looking at the last 25 years of openers I noticed the Bills have opened against the Jets 6 times, the Pats 4 times and the Dolphins only once. I guess the league likes to save the Bills - Dolphins games for later in the year. -
The difference is that we have a decades long relationship with Israel, which has always supported us, and the regime absolutely intent of destroying them is a trouble maker of the worst sort, run by a lunatic who believes he has a directive from a seventh century, violent nut to destroy anyone not sharing his view.

That 2003 opener REALLY fooled me, and the irony of the score in the last game of that season was humiliating.
