  1. Past hour
  2. When do we celebrate gerbils? šŸ˜
  3. My main criticism is him as far as helping Josh is not signing D. Hop last off-season when he could've made it work salary cap wise. He sure would've been an upgrade from Davis, Sherfield, and Hardy.
  4. He also threw four picks in that game. It's more of a case of Lawrence's stats were so bad his rookie year because Urban Meyer may have been the worst coaching hire in the last ten years at least. I guess you could make a case for Adam Gase or Nathaniel Hackett but still. It was bad.
  5. You credit him with guys he didn't select? Interesting approach. As for leaving guys off... I didn't leave anyone off. I was asking who is his 4th most successful pick and I think too early to say it is any of those four. He was on the recruitment teams, but "played a big role" well it depends how you quantify a big role. Buddy and Russ made the call on Marrone and Whaley's recommendation in 2015 was to hire Hue Jackson. Now that would likely have failed too. But that was what happened.
  6. Today
  7. This is a classic case of stats not telling the entire story. Lest we forget that 27 point comeback victory in the playoffs vs the Chargers.
  8. This is just not true through. You may feel that way, but itā€™s factually wrong. In the last 5 drafts, Beane has used our first round pick in a weapon for Josh THREE times. In the last 3 drafts he has used 4 of our first 6 picks on help for Josh - Cook, Kincaid, Oā€™Cyrus, Keon of which all that have played have looked like great picks. Not to mention using picks on guys like Brown, Shakir, etc as in these past 3 years that are now looking like great picks to go along with more guys we added this year that are promising at Center and RB. None of this factors in the FA moves heā€™s made. He went out and got guys like Cole who was the best slot WR in the league while here, quality vets like John Brown and Sanders and drafted Davis, who for all his faults still put up solid stats here and exceeded his draft value. The reality is that the group around Allen is young because Diggs was traded probably a year or too sooner than was planned 2 years ago or even last year. But just because thatā€™s the case doesnā€™t rewrite history into a falsehood that Beane hasnā€™t been spending premium assets to get Josh more help. And quite frankly, there arenā€™t a lot of teams who have 4 players who have played 2 years or leas as promising as Kincaid, Keon, Shakir, and Cook is. Most teams wish they had a young nucleus like this. And while this team lacks a proven elite go to target, it makes up for right now with quality of depth. And the best part is that if this group proves to be lacking, Beane has a bunch of extra premium picks and a ton of cap room next year to make moves to go get even more help.
  9. Glad this was a positive vid. I've been watching Kollmann's draft stuff for a bit and he's really good. I enjoyed their discussion about us trading back with KC and laughing that it didn't matter at all. The EPA discussion about the differences between Brady and Dorsey was probably the best thing in the video, I didn't understand how much EPA is affected by chunk plays from worse field position. Watching this makes it even more glaring how little "pro" sports commentators actually watch tape because they took several narratives that I kept hearing out there and pretty much just explained why they are wrong and how dumb it is to buy into them. Very encouraging video and presented by a Texans fan and a Bears fan so you can't blame positive things on homerism. If you're looking for Bills stuffs on youtube you can't go wrong with Bootleg Sports, Cover 1 Buffalo Podcast (Thompsett is the best cap guy on the Bills, Prohaska is pretty decent at film study), LockedOn Bills (Joe Marino founded the draftnetwork and then bounced, you may remember they used to be a decent website and went downhill, that's because he and another founder left to start the LockedOn Network). Their explanation explains the difference in the actual stat and your eyeballs should support the fact that we had a very inconsistent offense that was predicated on big plays in a boom or bust way for the first half of the season and then became much more consistent once we started running the ball regularly. The offense "found" itself when we started running and distributing the ball evenly and that happened when we changed coordinators.
  10. Yes it's a tidy story but I'm not entirely sure it's true they chalk up the early EPA returns under Dorsey by saying 'well the Bills are anomalous' and then similarly fail to account for the decline in EPA under Brady which corresponded w more wins. It's not meant to be entirely predictive but the difference in actual scoring between the two offenses was <1 ppg...is that enough to account for such a dramatic difference in win/loss%? I would say almost certainly not I maintained then and still do that the metrics supported the idea that the offense would find itself through the midseason lull v Giants-Broncos (roughly)...these guys seem content to chalk up the difference in it's entirety to playcalling differences in certain key areas between the respective OCs and I think that's too convenient
  11. People who butt in donā€™t always know when to butt out.
  12. Itā€™s cap %. Allenā€™s deal is still the 2nd most in the history of the NFL. Burrow is the highest. Mahomes is the real bargain. Burrow, Allen, Herbert , and Jackson all got a higher % of the cap than Mahomes. Burrow nearly 2% more than Mahomes. Thats a lot of money. Lawrence is currently 10th. Thatā€™s about right.
  13. Juju didnā€™t joined them last year after he signed with the Pats and somehow he received his ring.
  14. He's not going to be any better this season. Once you get the yips and lose your mental edge in your specialty, it rarely returns. The mistake we made was prematurely extending his contract. Can we just once let a player's first contract play out first. He's going to break our hearts again. Count on it....
  15. nothing tops not being ready to pick a QB the year Mahomes was drafted
  16. I guess they think Pederson can coach him up the way he did with Carson Wentz
  17. I'd like to see an advanced breakdown on the swirling endzone side... And the non swirling side So one end zone is a lot more difficult than the other because of the one entrance... which creates swirling winds on one side... I'm sure the percentage going into the windy side is worse That's what makes it tougher kicking in it as your home stadium.. you're going to be forced to kick into the swirling wind side a good amount over 8 games Teams will trot out kickers from 55 on the good side.. they won't trot them out from 55 on the windy side usually
  18. his jersey collection is approaching Fitzpatrick levels
  19. Completely average QB. Has never distinguished himself amongst the middling pack. Disgusting overpayment but thatā€™ll happen with any QB that signs an extension. Talent doesnā€™t much matter. Whether youā€™re Lawrence, Watson or Mahomes, itā€™s just who signs last. Jaguars are going to be choked by this deal, zero chance they compete anymore. Maybe not so obviously better after all. Iā€™d only put him slightly above Daniel Jones TBH
  20. B+/A- He has built a consistent winning team. He has drafted well at points and better recently. He has also consistently found gems late in the draft. He has added quality bargain FAs. Has missed on some bigger ticket players (see Miller), but at least the swing for Miller was done for the right reasons. He has also made a few lousy contracts like Miller and Knox. His trades have mostly worked such as Douglas and Diggs. I am also impressed with his ability to retool and create a youth movement for the Bills while fixing the cap issues (he created) on the fly. I also like his commitment to finally developing our own top end skill players with the additions of Cook, Kincaid and Coleman. The only real criticism of the Beane era is that we haven't reached the Super Bowl, much less win one. Had we made a Super Bowl, I'd give him an easy A.
  21. This is how much Josh Allen will get. Itā€™s scary. Next years cap is projected $273 million. Josh Allen will get approximately 24% of the cap. ALLEN WILL SIGN FOR $65 million per year. šŸ˜²
  22. Because it's the Super Bowl ring ceremony? Should he not get his ring? Even if that's not what was happening, players are friends off the field regardless of the teams they're on.
  23. Panthers play a relentless game, and they have a very good goalie playing at the top of his game.
  24. I submit the answer is Buffalo, based on lyrical evidence that may be representative of what the public thinks: Tee Grizzley - Grizzley 2Tymes "All my n****s gettin' green, b***h, we play for Boston (Yeah) Nah, all my n****s gettin' blues, b***h, we play for Buffalo'" Question: Wouldn't St. Louis have been a better choice, since "Blues" in St. Louis doesn't refer to sadness? I mean, musicians want irony here, right? [Or are the lyrics referring to when the Bills play in all blues, or even the Sabres?] Irony, for example: Lil Wayne - Broke Up "Okay, it's Gudda, h**, all about my Bills like Buffalo'" [The Buffalo Bills have nothing to do with a financial obligation, a "bill".]
  25. I would have said itā€™s more likely heā€™s Mahomes and Reids snitch. But the truth is, they donā€™t need him to play spy. They have no problem smoking us every year in the playoffs.
