It didn't really look like it in the first half, and granted a lot of their games have been against some bad teams, but Jacksonville's defense has played pretty well so far this year. The Walker/Hines-Allen pairing has really blossomed and some of the new faces on the back 7 have been really nice pickups like Jourdan Lewis.

I don’t see how the Bills would trade for a CB. The only way it makes sense is if Hairston is out for the season. Olave makes a lot of sense to me.

The Refs and this “rigged” league
strive_for_five_guy replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean if you watch the Bills Ravens game objectively, it was clear the fix was in for the Bills in that one. -
Yeah it is a legit concern but we don't have the benefit of being picky. We lost that benefit when we let DK Metcalf get away. Or even Jerry Jeudy who right now would be the best WR on our team. We'd have Olave through 2026 before we would need to extend him so you'd just let it play out and hope you win a Super Bowl one of those two years, and if that happens then the rest doesn't matter.

I love the accusations of tin foil hat stuff, as if there are no good and bad or biased refs. And didn't new england get caught red handed cheating multiple times? Like, you have to a punk moron to think the only time they ever cheated were the times they got caught. Didn't an NBA ref get popped, and then called games telling exactly what the ref was about to do prior to the play showing the bias and corruption? I don't quite think the NFL is rigged, but you'd have to have both hands up your own butt to think there aren't any biases or thumbs I the scale.

It’s suspicious that 3 of the Bills “signature losses” have had the same refs. This game, the Philly game in 2023, the divisional game against the chiefs in Buffalo. You can throw in the 2018 loss to the Dolphins if you want too (Charles Clay endzone drop to seal the game).

Beane has no clue when it comes to wide receiver talent and couldn't make the right decision if his life depended on it. Don't forget passing up on DK Metcalf for the OL bust Cody Ford and passing up of course on Xavier worthy and handing him to the Chiefs for Coleman (when any layperson knew we needed speed in the wide receiver group and there he was for the taking). Furthermore, there were plenty of better receivers that the Bill's could have picked even besides Xavier Worthy who would have helped open up our offense substantially as he does for Kansas City. However, he did nothing in one of the best wide receiver drafts for talent and chose an extremely slow wide receiver who can't seem to separate and can only occasionally catch a jump ball. Even after the Coleman pic which very few people liked, Beane/McDermott could have redeemed themselves as there were plenty of good receivers left in the following rounds, yet he did nothing again and added more useless defensive pieces that have basically not even played. Again about 90% of all the draft capital goes towards the defense every year with little if nothing to show for it and very little on the offensive side of the ball as far as weapons. Beane and McDermott have been doing this since they got here. Josh has a collection of misfit low level receivers every year that basically aren't worth much when it comes to getting open and making plays when needed. And to add salt to the wound, our top three draft picks this year which unsurprisingly from Beane & McDermott are all defensive players, are not even playing and they're all hurt already without ever touching the field in the regular season. Sanders I believe was only active for the first time this week, week five. That's a pathetic return in yet another year where they put all the assets basically on the defense. We have a defensive coach for crying out loud and he still can't seem to get the defense playing decently even with all this infusion of draft assets every single year. The only area where Beane seems to do decently is in the later rounds, but that's not going to cut it and not nearly enough with all the draft picks we've had year after year. People can make excuses all day long, but it's been a common theme year after year and Josh doesn't have a lot of star talent to work with except Cook really since he's been drafted. Shakir is decent, but not a world beater. You can see I'm still very salty from the loss last night as both sides of the team played pathetically and the coaching and play calling was also bad to put it mildly. I just don't have faith in Beane or McDermott who never seems to adapt to ever having the ability to get us to a super bowl and win one while Josh is still playing at a high level. It would be unthinkable to waste the best quarterback we've ever had and not get him to the promised land with a win because of the constant coaching mistakes, drafting mistakes and mediocre free agency acquisitions with the exception of Diggs. Ok, rant done for now...lol

How do you know it's so hard? And how's the complexity here compare to other teams, how do you know that? There was an article in the paper maybe the Buffalo News where Landon Jackson was quoted as saying something along the lines of one of the other players told him. You're likely not going to always remember the play or your assignment or even hear the call right, just go with your gut and play fast. A rookie going with his gut can be a problem.

The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition
Low Positive replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you want to get someone off the scrap heap, Jermaine Burton has to be available. But he can't make practice on time even while living next to the stadium. Olave's concussion history has to be a major concern. But that's why he might be available. -
For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)

It’s all about pegula he’s just happy we’re winning games, any other coach and GM with a QB like Allen would be on the hot seat, but I never even hear the media talking about them on the hot seat. -
The problem with trading for a CB like him is we just drafted one with our 1st rounder and just paid Benford. Any team that trades for him will need to sign him to a long term deal. I'd prefer to just let the defense resolve itself. Oliver will be back, Ogunjobi and Hoecht will be back, Hairston hopefully will be ready for the stretch run if nothing else. The WR room on the other hand has no reinforcements coming. What we have is what we're stuck with and it simply isn't good enough to win a championship with. They already fumbled DK Metcalf. They need to rectify it. Not a role player, a legit #1 caliber WR that can play outside. Olave should be the target, even if it costs a 1st you just have to go for it at this point.
