Anticipated changes in philosophy/scheme in 2025?
MasterStrategist replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speaking of 2nd halves, this Coach you b-word about happened to give up just 11 points and forced 2 punts to start the 3rd qtr--- this was just this year. This is after Benford went down, and we're already down Rapp and Taron banged up. On top of a DL that has shed Phillips, Von, Jefferson, Smoot, Rasul - and Elam traded for a bag of footballs. This was an average talented defense, at best. 2 boundary CBs who played entire 2nd half, won't be playing much this year. I'd say our defense did what it needed in 2nd half- Benford going down was too much to overcome. Our offense came out flat, and just didnt make the plays we needed down the stretch. There's a reason our offseason was dedicated to finding more talent on defense- people love to hate on McD, when have we had legitimate talented defense? Seems to me, he has covered up a lot of flaws - that tend to get exposed against better QBs. Talent is the ultimate differentiator, I'd say Philly can attest to that -

For what? The Draft's over and there's no RB in the market to replace him with of any value. We'd be trading him for a pick in 2026. Of which, we'll probably get the same amount in Compensation in 2027 and possibly more depending on how much he signed for elsewhere by keeping him. If we're trading him for a Pick next season and we're rolling with Davis and Johnson anyways, we might as well wait out the holdout and have him for the Playoffs. -
Most of my coworkers are democrats and/or liberals and were just as disgusted, same with a couple of online and in person democrats that I know. Sadly, here is the only place where I have seen more people justifying it. Some things transcend partisan issues. I respect anyone on either side who can cross party lines occasionally and review each issue on it's own.

Ah yes, the classic “I’m a lifelong liberal but...” routine straight out of the Undercover MAGA Starter Pack. You waited until paragraph six to drop “Sleepy Joe,” praised ICE like it’s doing God’s work, felt joy over a kid getting deported, and casually shrugged off January 6 - but sure, you’re just the voice of reason among Democrats. 🙄 Next time, at least try to disguise the right-wing cosplay. You're about one “Let’s Go Brandon” away from blowing your cover completely.

He didn't know Josh back then. Good thing they waited. But man, what balls to pass on Mahomes when getting Josh was not a certainty.

Oh, so now you suddenly care about law and order? Tell you what - when your crowd isn’t busy storming the Capitol, waving flags for felons, or begging for pardons, maybe we’ll take that outrage seriously.

Davis isnt devalued. Davis just isnt Cook. People act like Cooks explosion and vision is just replaceable--- "we would do just fine", as you say. Bottom line, Cook made alot of explosive runs LY and alot of yards after contact - which people tend to ignore and just say the OL is the reason for his production. Look no further than the 4th and goal against KC, Davis isnt making that run- thats a certainty. I'll repeat what I've said all offseason, Cook is our best playmaker not named Josh Allen. I hope Beane finds a way to keep him 3-4 more years- give him $24m gtd. Cook produced behind a very good OL - facts. But he also produced alot of yards/TDs with a vastly improved strength and contact balance, and his sneaky acceleration.

I think our management has made it pretty clear that they believe in the whole draft a 3rd round running back thing and not overpay the position. I don’t expect management to give in much here.

Didn't he spike the ball outta the wrong end zone too? LoL... He was jacked! If he could of just held it, they might have got him to bring it out again... He had time.😆 -

A 305+ lb DT with length, strength, and explosion can absolutely help against the run. The Bills don't do much 2-gapping overall, so the DTs can interchange at least a little. DaQuan Jones isn't much bigger tbh. We get so incredibly pedantic and prescriptive at times as observers and fans, when there is room for nuance and guys who can do more than the "pundits" proclaim. -
Waited until his daughter graduated high school to do this. Now? Entire family in ICE custody for expedited deportation. I gotta admit, I’m not sure sleepy Joe would have had the balls to “allow” that (allow in quotes as it’s just following the law, but this time we don’t need to wait months - or eternity - for this action to happen.) Not sure if any of his family knew about this ahead of time. But after watching the video of the attack, some part of me(and I hesitate to even say this) feels happiness that he gets to hear news that his waiting for graduation simply meant that daughter can now be shipped away with a cap and gown. And again, to any of my fellow democrats, read the ***** room. You don’t have to agree with the righties on anything else. But this one? And your best defense is “well January 6th was bad too!” makes our entire party look like a bunch of p.ussies. But then again, last time I spoke on here not following the party talking points, I was actually called a republican mole. Good god.

He’s held by the contract. He needs to come out and ball out to get the contract he wants. Cook knows this.
-
Good thing there is bodycam footage of them getting physical with agents after busting through the gate of a federal prison. Not only would anyone be arrested in that situation, they would have full authority to use equal and opposite force. Time to bust skulls until these idiots learn nobody is above the law

Cook isn't going to sit out the season; that has never worked. Therefore, trading him now hurts the Bills for the 2025 season, which by all reasonable expectations is Super Bowl or bust. Would Beane make a move if someone absolutely wows him? I don't know, yeah maybe. But who would do that? And Cook is super valuable on the field to the Bills. They have a nice RB room with him. They're suddenly meh without him. Maybe if a RB with some degree of unrealized pedigree plus a day one draft pick are coming back, maybe that could work? No clue who and what teams fit that profile.

Anything to “own the libs,” right, MAGA? You’re so fragile that even the name of a decorated Marine and trailblazing public servant like Harvey Milk sends you into a meltdown. -

I mean, rookie deals are heavily regulated and prescribed at this point. Guys don't have much leverage at first, especially outside the 1st round. And we all know the teams can cut a guy at any point, which means the player stops receiving paychecks. This is why players use leverage from past performance and with current offseason participation to seek new deals/additional guaranteed money. It's also a way to minimize injury risk while the player still has no future guarantees.
