We’re deciding between KC and Tampa. We normally like to go into September, but there are only duds at 1pm on a Sunday. I know KC is a 4pm game. My reasoning is we want to only take a Friday, Monday off, and night games for me stink. Too late given my body is up at 5am everyday whether working or not.

Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?
GunnerBill replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
All true although Zay's receiver coach from ECU had been hired on staff and they had a link at Temple through a guy who had interned in Carolina. Still the case that the 2017 draft other than Tre does not look the same as their MO ever since. -

Recession is upon us - disastrous economic data
Big Blitz replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The pitch: Keep tariffs high, but extend them 12 months. Give global partners time to lower non-tariff barriers, adjust their economies, and stabilize supply chains without lifting pressure. It’s a reset button with a timer. Uncertainty is a drag on GDP: Sløk cites a VAR model showing that a 1 SD rise in policy uncertainty drops GDP by 0.2 pts. More clarity, even under a tough regime, helps business planning, hiring, and markets. The Play: $400 billion/year in tariff revenue. That’s not nothing. It’s a de facto tax on global trade partners that offsets deficits and boosts U.S. leverage. The idea isn’t to end tariffs. It’s to normalize them and use the certainty to force foreign economies to adapt, not retaliate. Risky? Yes. But shrewd and smart? Absolutely. This isn’t a temporary negotiating bluff. We've written about this several times and agree with Sløk. It’s a paradigm shift in how tariffs are used, as fiscal tools, not just trade weapons. Trump may be playing a longer game than people think. -
Are you talking about the new site circa 2001? I bet there are many who were members of the old site, and hence can be considered "founding members".

Mass media can dish it out, but can't take it?

Yeah, precisely this. Florio? I mean, I don't watch him all that much, but when I do catch something, no, it doesn't seem he hates the NFL at all. Just the opposite, it seems like his love for it is causing him obsession. But yeah, it's clear he doesn't like some things about how the NFL operates and what goes on. Which seems very fair to me. -

Two weeks! Taco gave Putin two weeks how many weeks ago? Imagine being subservient to a country with a gdp scraping the top 50 and a military that has lost over 1,000,000 soldiers in a war vs a small neighbor. That’s who Two Week Taco emulates.

Buffalo716 -- a heartfelt post if there ever was one. I and others appreciate your deep knowledge of the game and your willingness to share it. On this latter topic, I read a piece on how the D could show man but really be in zone. One of the "tells" that its a man D is for the O to put a WR in motion to the opposite side. If a db fallows that motion, it's man. But the piece described how the db could follow the motion, thus showing man but the D was really playing zone. This tricks the QB into thinking it was man coverage. Here's the rub (no pun intended): I cannot find the post and I cannot remember how the D plays zone to the side the db vacated. Do you know the answer? Thanks

That is baseball in a nutshell. It never ceases to amaze me how folks who have watched the game for decades don't grasp the fickle nature of the game when viewed through small time frames. Neither Tampa nor the O's 2025 season is likely to be defined by the games played this and last week, they are just another chapter in a longer book.
