Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Patrick Duffy replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't see where one could argue it wasn't, You're correct both were big factors. That being said, I think the way the Dline performed so well to set the tone for the entire defense as a whole was what made the most difference by a good margin imo. -
Body control and size. The upside with him is he becomes a player that can consistently box out defenders to create leverage and then contort for the ball in the air. His best case scenario profile was never Stefon Diggs, it's Brandon Marshall. Obviously he has a long way to go to hit that ceiling.

We shall soon see. AT BEST I see him as a bridge type QB but the impossible pressure on whatever franchise is cursed with him to make him the face of said franchise won't allow for that. I don't think you can separate that and all that brings from his mediocre skillset. Holding the ball too long is poison in the NFL, as are gimmick plays

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?

...and that Curtis Samuel and Dalton Kincaid are actually healthy this year. Lots went wrong before we made that Cooper trade. -

I have to be so thankful that it was 2005 and not 2025 with a Ring Indoor Camera. I would have been on Youtube by now. -
…..definitely easier the other way.

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
HappyDays replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
The forgotten outcome of that thread is that after week 5 just about every person on this board, including the person who started that thread, agreed that adding a WR was a necessary move. Beane himself has defend the Cooper trade by pointing out our offense scored 7 more PPG with him in the lineup. They are hoping that Palmer can replace or improve on what Cooper brought to the offense and that Coleman takes a big step forward in his development. -
Is Ed Oliver still on the team by September?

Buffalo Bills Consensus Draft Grades
MrEpsYtown replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
Athletic article: The Bills used their first five choices for defense. After the draft, Beane went on offense by ripping critics who thought Buffalo should have done more to address the receiver position (the team waited until the seventh round to select one and later signed Elijah Moore). Reactions from executives fell into two categories: • Let it go: “Reading and listening to everything that is said about your team and collecting receipts is exhausting. Let it go.” • More power to ya: “If it was anybody but a handful of GMs, I’d say that is bad form, but he has walked the walk, and he has backed it up. When you do that, you earn that. Their fan base and media are a little spoiled. Don’t forget how bad it was before.” The second exec thought the Bills’ receiving corps is better now than it was last season, when Buffalo fielded the NFL’s second-ranked offense by EPA per play, per TruMedia. But this draft was all about defense. “They got a fast corner for the first time maybe ever,” an exec said of first-round choice Maxwell Hairston. “He is maybe the most athletic corner in the draft, a potential No. 1 corner. Anybody would take that kid, no matter what, because of the speed.” The huge influx of personnel on defense points to a youth movement. The unit’s average age on a snap-weighted basis dropped from third oldest in 2023 to 13th oldest last season. By comparison, Buffalo’s primary AFC rival, Kansas City, has fielded one of the five youngest defenses by that measure in recent seasons. Third-round pass rusher Landon Jackson will be a player to watch. The fit in Buffalo could be better than elsewhere. “They figure they are going to be ahead in most games and play in sub all the time, so he becomes a designated pass rusher for them, which makes sense,” an exec said. “The miss factor for him would be if a 3-4 team tried to make a case for him.” https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6324247/2025/05/01/nfl-draft-2025-afc-teams-browns/?campaign=13401462&source=athletic_targeted_email&userId=25693940 -
I'd say this is naive. Of course Beane is going to say that. It means nothing, and I promise you Cook isn't giving Beane a big hug after re-signing everyone but him. If anything, he probably took that personally. This situation is easily the biggest threat to the season, way bigger than whatever perceived weakness in the WR corps. If Cook holds out through TC and misses the first two games as an example - a very realistic possibility at this point - it undermines Sean and the culture of the team (i.e. sacrifice, teammwork, and committment). We can recover from that but it isn't nothing.

This seems incredibly overblown. No one was harmed or was ever at risk. -
