  2. Some good discussion on this page on the defense. One of Babich's favorite lines in PCs this year as reason for defense not performing is some variation of "the rush is not in sync with the back end". It seems he says it every week. I don't know why he can't fix it. To go along with that, as has been mentioned, even when the play call is good (and presumably the 'rush is in sync with the back end'), guys are just missing tackles. After the Dolphins game I saw an analysis of a bunch of the 3rd and long plays that were given up and in each case the call worked perfectly (corner blitz, simulated pressure etc) and in each case some guy was right there to make the play and whiffed. One thing Babich and McD are always careful to do is never throw an individual under the bus and when asked about a play that later is revealed to be a simple poor individual tackle attempt etc they always describe as an 'execution' issue I'm also starting to get a little skeptical on Babich - esp when every week he says the same things about getting off the field on third down, gap integrity, 'rush in sync with back end'. My hope is that with people out and rookies playing etc the defense we are seeing now is not the one we will see at the end of the year and in the playoffs (one thing that gave me hope in preseason was Babich mentioning the defense needing to get off the field quick this year to get the ball in Josh's hands, which seemed to indicate a more aggressive approach - but we haven't seen it so far)
  3. Used to love these things as a kid...brings me right back to childhood Halloween season
  4. The eagles when Carson Wentz went down and Nick Foles tookover? I can't remember if Wentz was on big money then but I think he was in the MVP conversation around that time
  5. The Bills are going to be a different team on offense every single week, depending on the opponent and game plan. Even if they didn't do it on Sunday against the Saints, I think Joe Brady really likes the ability to run 3-Tight End sets.
  6. I don't really like how college resolves ties. It doesn't feel like it properly represents which team deserves it. Like penalty kicks in soccer. I believe there is a really simple way to fix NFL games from having ties and it fixes another problem as well: The victory goes to the team that took the most recent lead change. In this case, Green Bay would not have just kicked a field goal. Dallas had the most recent lead change, so they'd have to go for a TD if they wanted to win. The other problem this fixes? The coin toss for OT. We went from the obvious choice was take the ball to the obvious choice is to kick (because you are guaranteed at least 1 possession and you'll know what to do). Moving to most recent lead change you may want to try to take the lead first in OT OR you might want to see what you have to do. There's an interesting choice there. If nobody scores in OT, the victory goes to the team that had the lead before the other team tied it to go into OT. They had the higher percentage of winning the game before it was tied. Makes sense. I will admit a possible flaw in this concept is a team might try to just run out the clock in OT knowing they had the most recent lead in regulation.
  7. In these videos, there are cameras held every where by anti-ICE individuals. You can actually see them in the frame, and I’d assume you would acknowledge that there is precious little at street level that isn’t recorded or photographed. My question for you—-why do these videos fail to capture the entirety of any of these events? Any thoughts on that?
  8. I can see the confusion, particularly for liberals, in the question posed in the thread title. Many libs believe the pervert shown above is a woman. Go figure.
  9. He really is just one of the most sadistically evil people who have ever been in our government. Up there with McCarthy and Kissinger.
  10. I think some people here have absolute insane expectations for our defense, especially after just 4 weeks where we have seen two of our best defenders missing multiple games (ed and Milano), our 1st round CB not taken a snap, and two major offseason additions suspended for the first 6 games and not playing. LOL. Oh and we have a top 10 pass defense. FACTS: McD defenses have ALWAYS been soft on the run, BY DESIGN! We want you to run the ball. Please, run the ball all you want. We would rather have you run than have explosive pass plays. That. Is. What. We. Want! You will never see this defense have big space eating DTs who are dominant against the run, thats not who we draft, thats not who we sign. Our defense thrives on negative plays and takeaways. We are OK giving up yards because we are hunting for a negative play that puts the opponents behind the sticks at some point and the drive stalls out. We are looking for turnovers, and ALWAYS get them. McD defenses have been causing turnovers regularly since his arrival in Buffalo (and before that). It isn't an accident, it isn't a fluke. It is preached and practiced. It is successful. You know what stat is the most predictive when it comes to wins in the NFL, TURNOVERS! The defense this year has not been as bad as many think. For some reason many have whack expectations. We just held a team to under 20 points and under 300 total yards, under 150 passing yards. You do that and your going to win every game. It does not matter who the opponent was, its a week to week league and every team is going to give us their A+ effort. Against the Patriots We will do what it takes to win the game. Will they run on us? Sure, see above. Will we get a turnover, and likely a timely one, Sure, see above. It doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to get the job done.
  11. UPDATE 9/30: 1. Eric Collins is making his NFL broadcasting debut for Fox's F-team partnering with Mark Schlereth and Jen Hale for the Dolphins vs Panthers matchup 2. Chris Myers moves up to the C-team filling in for Adam Amin doing MLB Postseason. He will be working with Mark Sanchez and Kristina Pink on Raiders vs Colts matchup 3. Jason Benetti is filling in for Joe Davis who is also doing the MLB postseason. He will be partnering with Greg Olsen and Pam Oliver on the Cowboys Jets matchup. Benetti worked with Olsen last year doing Browns Commanders and many praised their chemistry together.
  12. 41,30,31,31. Offense is fine. Cook has been running very effectively and that is one of the main reasons Allen's passing yards are down so far. But 4-0 overall, 2-0 in the division, 3-0 in the conference. The Bills have things to work on that they can improve on but overall, there is really nothing to complain about.
  13. I liked him in the draft. I'm not sure if he on a PS somewhere but he'd be worth a look IMO.
  14. Gameplan specific? Bills probably do more game plan specific personnel things on offense than any other team.
  15. You are getting after it early today! You must be buoyed by this kind, yet incredibly mystifying comment:
  16. It really is nice to have such a balanced offense. Allen doesn't have to be Superman, and the Bills are still scoring in bunches. 41,30,31,31. through 4 games. Allen and Cook are a great one/two punch on offense. Just like Jim and Thurman were.
  17. It was to highlight the nature of your posting. Obviously.
  18. Give a Nazi an inch, and they’ll bigot a mile.
  19. Joe Marino reviewed the tape and Van Demark graded out very high in both pass blocking and run blocking. Van Demark played 48 plays. Marino said Van Demark was excellent on 46 of 48 plays. One of the plays was 4th and 1 flip to Shakir, which went nowhere. Van Demark got tripped up by Torrance, fell down, Saints rushed thru vacated spot and stopped Shakir
