Wow. In his 2nd season as a pro and 2nd season returning kicks and he doesn't know the rules? Wow...

It isn't the rules. It is too much executive decision give to McKelvin... Just as it was last night with the Bears' longsnapper. No way should he make that choice with that time ont he clock and the kick in the endzone. It should be:

You do:

A

B

C

Covering all possibilites... And that is it... And the coaching staff has to remind them.

The long snapper has only A and B from which to choose. McKelvin's had a lot more scenarios which could have played out and brain power which would be slightly above average for a Canadian. Wrong recipe.

McKelvin was the one missing tackles, losing coverage, and fumbling twice. His poor play stuck like a sore thumb the entire game. Not just in the end.

He's not the only one that made mistakes. I still feel its a overall coaching issue. The elite level of execution isnt there, and thats all on the coaching. From the weak training camps, conservative plays, etc

The Bills should have never been in position they were in the final minutes of the fourth. I blame the defense for getting too conservative, especially against a team like the Pats. Saying that, coaching may have put them in the position to lose, McKelvin fumbling was the worst case scenario. He will take the blame, rightly so. I just dont agree with him getting all of it.

And the message would be......

"Oh, crap. We lost to the Bucs because we started Reggie at corner."

Sorry...i think its time to sleep. I was meaning for Kick offs....not at corner. We need him on the D. Definitely better than the alternative. At least we have other players that can handle the Kick offs

Everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that McKelvin was schooled by Moss all game too. The one double move, Leodis was running deep for 4 more steps after Moss had broken his route off.

True. And Corner looked pretty damned good. But you try covering Moss. His moves are lighting quick. And Brady has the ball there inside of a blink. At this point, McKelvin still deserves benefit of the doubt. But doubt is running low.

Didnt the announcers make a comment about how well McGee was playing against Moss? What happened? Why did he stop covering him, was it a coaching change? Moss didnt do sh-- for while, until he wasnt covered by McGee

Mckelvin was embarrassed all game long. I can see blaming the coaching for not doing something, but then again...they had other people getting burned too.

That was absolutley the wrong decision to bring it out just for the fact of what COULD happen. Damn, then it did. Have to play the percentages. What are the better odds of winning? Taking the ball at the 20, running three plays, maybe Jackson gets a first down and they can kill the clock. 2nd worst case, they punt and New England has to go 60-70 yards with no timeouts to win. Probably would have but still. Worst case, run the ball out of the end zone and boom- fumble. He did fumble earlier. How does a coach or the Head coach not tell him "Ball is kicked into the end zone, under no circumstance do you leave the end zone. Take a knee. or else." Then Jauron agrees with the decision to run the ball out. Incredible.

They would still have one left which ruins your argument.

Get over it. What we discovered is that we have a pretty good team that made as mistake at the end. However, this offense is going to move the football. The defense has to get off the field, and Special teams will come around. Remember we were picked to lose by 10 or more.;

It was the right decision to bring it out. Giving the Patriots 4 timeouts with the 2 minute warning would have been stupid. The mistake wasn't bringing it out, it was not going down on first contact and fighting for yardage that made no difference to the outcome of the game...it wasn't like he was fighting for the endzone or a first down yardstick...did he really think the 1 extra yard he gained by fighting for yardage before fumbling, would have made any difference?

The bolded is exactly right. Once he committed to returning the kickoff the first thing in his mind should have been to take care of the ball. It makes no difference if you return it to the 19, the 26, or whatever yard line. Protect the ball.

Im only asking because Im not an expert, but why was Harris just standing there while McKelvin was getting wrapped up before the fumble? Is that coached in case of a fumble? I would have been in there trying to help him get to the ground or push ahead. He just stood there and watched them pull the ball from McKelvin.

As others have pointed out it was Jairus Byrd. He has to be involved in the play somehow, at the very least crouch and anticipate the fumble while you're watching players strip at the ball. Had he been more alert he would have recovered the fumble.

But the fault lies with McKelvin. He had the ballgame in his hands and he coughed it up.

In a game this close you can raise many points which may have made the difference. But the Bills deserved to win this game IMO and McKelvin let it get away.

It is no different than last year when JP didn't understand that he could eat the ball or throw it away but the one thing he could not do was get stripped.

McKelvin was the one missing tackles, losing coverage, and fumbling twice. His poor play stuck like a sore thumb the entire game. Not just in the end.

McKelvin's mental lapses continue to plague the team. All that talent but he needs to straighten up. Should they scale back his repsonsibilities? Or would that be defeatist? He's our 2nd best cornerback for sure but he has to do a better job all around.

The best scenario for Leodis is if he wins a game for us. And the sooner the better.

You opinion demonstrates your lack of intellectual capacity. DJ and staff were running circles around BB and staff all night. A bad play cost them a won game. Blame it on a bad play. Idiot.

I have no doubt that DJ can run circles around ANY coaching staff in the league... It just doesn't happen late into the fourth 1/4 when the wheels usually come off.

There is a trend here folks... A few years ago didn't they lose to the Broncos 24-25 on a last second kick in the home the opener... Even before DJ, a JAX home opener squeeker...

There is a pattern here with coaches and that has to change. The only way things are going to change in this copycat league is if DJ slams things into another gear before tendancies develop... It has to happen next week... I have zero confidence in the Bills even competing against the Pats* in Orchard Park late int he season... BB will have a ton of tape and tendancies.

Again... You have to throw "building on this loss" out the window and slam it into game #2 gear.
