BuffaloBill Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 It is true that developing a young line is underway big time in Buffalo. Hopefully, the next coaching staff will be able to use it effectively. The most likely outcome.
nucci Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Uh huh... Well, considering the pass rushers that Bell and company are going to face....We will be prying something out of Trent, Fitz and hamsters cold dead fingers this season. You can't tell me teams aren't licking their chops to get a shot at a nobody 7th round pick and a rookie LG that gets pushed back to the QB more often than not. The round they were picked should not matter. Do you remember what round House Ballard was picked?
section122 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 IMHO ..... The problem isn't with the last few moves made ...... it's how/when the moves were made. Turk gets canned because the Bills brain trust wasn't happy with his game plans/play calling during pre-season .... but they were happy enough during the end of last season during the REAL games while we were circuling the toilet bowl to keep him .... what the heck happened between December of last year and last week???? They cut Walker because he's a slow gob of goo ......... is he really any slower of fatter than he was last year? Is he any fatter and slower than he was last week when we cut Chambers and kept him???? The FO wants to "blow up" the team ......... fine with me but it should have been blown up MONTHS ago. Actually i think i can understand the moves. Jauron was kept for continuity - how could he then justify firing someone. Also even thought the coordinator is the same and the tackle was on the team it was an entirely new system going from traditional to no huddle. Perhaps they were given a fair shot and obviously (to all who watched) could not succeed. So the Bills showed some loyalty and gave opportunities to two people who had earned that. Arent you glad these moves happened before the games counted instead of wanting it to happen after they failed. I understand the pessimism as i have been a fan a long time and drive 2.5 hours every sunday for my season tickets - But dont rain on my parade yet! haha -also endzone i see your in 122 as well where at? Im row 32 almost directly behind first down man.
KOKBILLS Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I dont see the glass as half full or half empty, I see it as broken.
Red Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I dont see the glass as half full or half empty, I see it as broken. WOW! Dib, where did you get that picture? Whew, that is my dream!
Cookiemonster Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I heard they are all going to wear Dr. Scholls in their cleats for the first few games. They'll be Jellin!
Cookiemonster Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 The girl (av pic) looks like she should tip over. Does she have a counterweight attached to her backside? I didn't see one, but you know, I think that I could pass for one.
Endzone Animal Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Realistically, this team shouldn't win a single game. As an optimist, I suspect they'll win as many as three if they can catch a few breaks.
IndyJay1234 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I love that people are ready to pack it in BEFORE the damn season starts. Listen, we ridded ourselves of dead weight. Langston Walker being the HEAVIEST of that dead weight. Comedy aside, Turk=terrible, Walker=Fat turd with average skills, Rhodes=average for his price tag. But I am here to talk OFFENSIVE LINE.....to the so-called "experts" who are complaining about our BLOWN UP offensive line. Well, I don't know about you, but this is exactly what I have been waiting for. I am so sick of the Panos, Teague, Villarrial, Ben Anderson, Gandy, Fowler, Reyes, Walker, Dockery, Whittle's of the world...... Now THIS is a commitment to the line....5 young guys jelling TOGETHER!! You can take my season tickets "FROM MY COLD DEAD HAND"!! Your cold dead hand..... Carson Palmer called it. Someone is going to die playing this game. I take it you are playing QB this year for the Bills behind this line... Sorry I couldnt resist.
tennesseeboy Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 hell yeah. A practice or two and all of these rookies will be one of the best offensive lines in history. TE will have so much time to throw that we can maximize TO and Evans. Belichick will probably buy all of the crazy hype that the offensive line is weak and design his game plan around it. Good idea to hold back all preseason and then cut your most senior guy just before your first game, although he might have waited til just before kickoff. That Jauron is one brilliant trickster! I'm starting to feel sorry for the Patriots.
Billsguy Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Amen EndZoneCrew about damn time someone stood up and said it. I'll be with you when someone tries to pry my season tickets. I still BILLIEVE. Let's got to Foxborough on Monday and punch the Boston Patirots in the mouth. Who's with me damn it! Put your money where your mouth is! Oh, I guess you did by buying tickets. How did you like paying full price for those pre-season games? It's kinda like paying to see U2 and you get to see Pee Wee Herman's garage band. Ralph Wilson thanks you. Bernie Madoff got caught fleecing the public illegally, but Ralph Wilson has found a legal way of separating fools from their money. Thank goodness for the Raiders, because otherwise the Bills would be the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. BTW,I'll take New England's chances over Buffalo's this year. I have always been a Bills fan, but I am not delusional enough to think that the Bills are going to beat New England this year.

I would love to jump on the ship with you, however as long as our HOF(lol) owner and our Moronic Coach are standing side by side together leading the troops down the path to nowhere it aint gonna happen..This franchise is a joke...I wish to hell and want to believe otherwise but deep down and after so many years of hearing the same bs I know better..This team is in the middle of an epic meltdown even before the season starts..The only thing left to see what remains of this season is if we draft in the top ten or somehow they find a way to go 7-9 and Dickie boy keeps his job again..

dave mcbride Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 We've been using Dixie cups for a few years now... Not dribble glasses? You know, the ones that look appealing to the unwary but are really a circus trick?
oak tree 12 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I love that people are ready to pack it in BEFORE the damn season starts.-That is exactly what the Bills want you to think, keep up the hope, all the while they have thrown the season away. A good percentage of people in Buffalo and nationwide have the same opinion. The same gullible Bills fans, have hope when the organization doesn't even have any. 5 young guys jelling TOGETHER -That should be 5 young guys with 3 rookies having 3 days to jell without the person who has been calling all of their line calls all preseason. Rosey outlook there for sure. I am so sick of the Panos, Teague, Villarrial, Ben Anderson, Gandy, Fowler, Reyes, Walker, Dockery, Whittle's of the world...... -You forgot to add Jason Peters. Look I agree with some of the other posters here, it isn't as much the moves as it is when and how they were done. Dumping your O-Coordinator, backup RB, Left Tackle with less than a week before you play the division rival, Super Bowl favorite Patriots makes as much sense as breasts on a nun. The Bills have obviously duped their fanbase this year, and the thousands who have bought season tickets. They signed Owens to boost saging season ticket sales and it worked. Now that they are all sold, they backdoor the fans and tank the season. dont make much sense. the line calls come from our o/line coach i believe!
oak tree 12 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 dont make much sense. the line calls come from our o/line coach i believe! i really dont understand why everyone has their panties in a knot about turk. we are not changing the offense we are changing the guy who is going to call the plays. big freaking deal! they dumped an old running back because they felt they had a better younger running back WTF is wrong w/that? they cut fat so after they were sure bell was healthy. the fact of the matter is they wanted to do it after the GB game but bell got injured. whats the freaking problem there. i really dont understand your logic or why you think what they did is such a big deal

I hope you are right buddy.I am sick and tired of the bull sh-- the last 3 years. All this talent and we play below 500 footbal every year.I have a ticket to see them play the Texans november 1st. I will be taking the trip by myself 6 hours.I don't want it to be a waste!!!

To generalize and say that there is one best time to get rid of an OC or LT is a bit presumptuous, no? Maybe in your view the moves were ill-timed. Yet, I am of the belief it is better sooner rather than later.....(now versus week 5). Or maybe, a few things came to light recently that were not evident or validated for the ENTIRE training camp (Shonert being a back stabber and Walker displaying a really poor attitude - internally).....all possibilities that warrant the timing of the moves. I get the perception that the Bills are in "insert flippant and striving to be witty descriptor here" (destruction mode, on full tilt, etc), but the bottom line is that the moves made, were the right moves at the right time given all circumstances....that any of us posers cannot even fathom. I am always curious that if you support a team you "drink kool aid" yet if you verbosefully (word?) always rip every move you are just being critical. Bottom line, if someone does not like the moves change teams to support.....really being a Bills fan is not a right or entitlement. Also, this idea that a fan is "sick of being treated this way".......huh ....moreover, I really like it when someone says they are a "loyal" or "longtime fan" - as if that means you are entitled to something....get over yourselves....The Buffalo Bills owe you (and me and everyone) ABSOLUTELY nothing. NO explanation, no guarantee, nothing, zip......I have a right to support the Bills as do you, it does not make you right and me wrong or visa versa. I am all for debate on the moves but when they are anchored in mean-spritied and juvenille platitudes it is almost sad to see. The loss of perspective is much much worse than the being an internal optimist.
