With Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, and Cris Carter all on the ballot this time, Reed will be lucky to make it past the semifinalist round.

Respectfully Lori, Andre Reed was more of a game breaking WR than Cris Carter and Tim Brown with the numbers to back it up. As far as I'm concerned he should be in before Michael Irvin.

Numbers? Reed is the only WR on that list without 1,000 catches or 100 TDs. Those are the numbers that will matter to the voters.

Heard two writers who vote for Hall of Fame (Denver and Washington writers I believe) say they will never vote in Andre. During end of career before he retired a number of writers had thought Andre was overrated; time usually does not improve chances with WRs.

Numbers? You want to use numbers, okay

So why is Art Monk in the HOF and Reed is not, if you want to go by numbers?

Fail.

She was comparing Reed to the other people he's facing for induction THIS year.

I can guarantee that Lori has forgotten more about football than you'll ever know. Now STFU new guy and sing us your fight song.

Reed is probably going to lose out in a numbers game in the near future. There are some superstar WRs going in soon, and to writers who didn't watch him play, he's going to look like a guy who played a long time and accumulated numbers without being a gamebreaker. None of his seasons were in the top 100 for receptions, yards, and TDs. He just kept playing well for a long time, and Art Monk seems to prove that the voters will make you wait a decade before they decide that's enough.

Two numbers: Monk had already been waiting for five years when Reed first became eligible in 2006.

And here's the other one. Super Bowl rings: Monk 3, Irvin 3, Reed 0.

While we're at it, you might be interested in a few of my previous postings on Reed's HOF candidacy:

I'm telling you what the VOTERS -- you know, the ones who made Carter a finalist last year ahead of Reed -- are going to do, not what I think they should do.

Yeah, but what do you know 'bout football?
