Just like our brand new star rookie safety Byrd did, and nobody even knows how he got hurt. Just like Stevie Johnson did in the third practice of training camp. It is pretty lame and pathetic to get happy about an injury for any player in the NFL. These guys literally risk their lives every time they step on the practice field or game turf. I'm sure there are some idiot Cowboys fans who would love to see T.O. go down with a quad injury too. Talk about a case of sour grapes on roids. Please grow up and wait until at least the end of the season to see if you can celebrate Peters' sucking for the Eagles fair and square, healthy but not being as good as they thought. Wasn't the trade conditional? I mean, wasn't there an escalation clause? I thought the Bills got more if Peters did well. If this is the case, one would hope the best for Peters, right? I hope he sucks royally the rest of his career. My greatest fear is that the above statement reflects a prevalent attitude among Buffalo sports fans. It's analogous to the other thread where some people are hoping that Mike Williams' comeback attempt with the Redskins fails. Unfortunately Doug Flutie, Dominick Hasek, and Michael Peca all know how quickly some Buffalo sports fans can turn on players. I only hope that it's not as prevalent as I fear...and that it is no different than how other fans in other cities react towards former players who left imperfectly. I'd hate to think of my hometown as consisting of lots of petty, small-minded, ignorant people. I hope it's only a small, vocal minority who express these sorts of views. Not a LOT of digging, but enough keystrokes to confirm my hazy memory: "An NFL source informs me the Bills have agreed to accept the Eagles’ second first-round draft pick, 28th overall, and a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and a conditional pick in next year’s draft in exchange for Peters." If this is true, all Bills fans should be rooting for a quick recovery. I acknowledge that Peters is a dick, and I'm glad he's gone after the abortion-of-a-performance he put forth last year. But that's last year. This is "this year". And I'm Jason Peters' greatest fan. Because I want a better pick next year. I don't want his fat ass sitting on the bench collecting more money than I'll ever imagine in three lifetimes. I want that fat ass to earn it. For the record, players can come off the PUP List at anytime and IIRC, the Ravens had 8 or 9 guys start camp on the PUP List. It's not IR. I'm interested in seeing what happens with Eugene Parker's first round picks and how long they are out of camp, particularly Crabtree. Peters has to be the most maligned player this decade and because OLineman performance can't be measured beyond the ridiculous sacks allowed stat, will keep that for this season as well. A few years ago an electrician in Buffalo died of third degree burns...to his entire body and his lungs. I guess he was inhaling when he cut those wires. The temperature on the surface of the sun is about 11,000 degrees Fahrenheit. A high energy electrical arc blast can reach temperatures of 30,000 degrees. That said, I agree that these NFL players risk life and limb every time they step onto the field. Their life spans are short and the number of joint replacement surgeries and other post-retirement ailments (both mental and physical) is very much higher than the norm. Come on man, I risk my life everyday, driving 15 minutes to work, typing and talking on a phone all day, then getting home logging on to twitter, facebook and twobillsdrive. Then its time for porn. I'm practically making myself go blind and giving myself the hairiest palms. I'm literally killing myself. Plus I'm getting fatter and cholesterol is high, I RISK MY LIFE EVERYDAY and you don't hear me bitching about it. Oh well time for a smoke and some pharmecuticals. But why don't you track down Kevin Everett and ask him if he thinks he used to risk his life playing football in the NFL? Look, I can't even remember one single NFL football player dying out on the field, so obviously my statement is over-the-top. But my only point is that the Bills suffer more then their share of injuries, season - ending injuries - year in and year out. It sucks, and it is frustrating. I don't take any satisfaction in other teams' players going down with injuries either. It might help the Bills win a game if their opponents key players are injured, and of course I'll take a Bills win any way they can get it. What if Peters ends-up missing a good portion of his starts because of injury, like Jonas Jennings (another player Bills fans complained about losing) did for the 49'ers?
