Last Guy on the Bench
if your a Buffalo Bills fan I'm the quarterback of this team said Drew Bledsoe during post game interview. Please tell me I had to many Molsons. 83369[/snapback] That's pretty much what he said. He was asked if he thought it was unfair for people to question his future with JP waiting in the wings and the team at 1-5. He said, "I am the quarterback here and I'm going to be the quarterback here and anybody that has questions about that, I apologize - if you're going to cheer for the Bills, I'm going to be the quarterback." (Just went back and checked the archived postgame on Fieldpass.) He also spent a lot of time blaming the running game, offensive line, tipped balls, etc. I've never heard him point the finger away from himself so much. (He wasn't quite Flutiesque, but almost.) He did admit Deion's second pick was a bad decision on his part and that he threw "a little" behind Moulds on the missed TD opportunity. Basically, he was squirming the whole time (understandably). Ray
He needs to look in the mirror. When JP arrives and we have half the sacks Bledsoe had then we will all start wondering if it was indeed the O-line's fault. How about making a quick decision and throw. Many QBs in this league would love a receiving corps with Moulds and Evans. Pats do not have a pro bowl receiver or O-lineman but they seem to manage. Probably because they have a great QB which makes up for a lot.

Saudi Arabia Rob
While I'm not a huge fan of his, Jerry Sullivan had a great column today in the News discussing how Bledsoe has always been simply an average QB. If you look at his stats and what they're trying to do with the gameplan this year, it's all designed to simply make him "not lose the game for us." This seems to be what we saw today. I like Drew as a guy a lot, and I was a backer of him up to this year. However, the mistakes he has been making, particularly a couple of the interceptions today, has almost put him into the "journeyman" category. It is kind of painful to watch because he is such a good guy.

I am not defending the OL, but when Drew had opportunities today he BLEW THEM AWAY.
SestakFan
When are people going to realize that the O-Line sucks no matter who the QB is. Sure Drew threw a few lousy balls. But there were sure some key drops out there. Put Matthews in and let him get killed, keep JP on the bench to learn.

The Bickering Bills of 1989 went 9-7, and made it to the playoffs. Of course they lost in the first round to the Browns. That team was made up of maturing young players on the cusp of playing their best football. This Bills team is made up of overrated free-agents, and undistinguished young players. MartyBall4Buffalo
People really need to realize that The oline is not just about giving up sacks. GET THIS OUT OF YOUR HEADS. Our oline can't do anything good. They can not pass block and they're not any better at run blocking. Our Rbs get blown up in the backfield a lot. Which is a reason Mcgahee impresses me seeing how most of his carries are for positive yardage after 1st contact which is usually behind the los. A Line that is bad at run blocking, and unable to get that into a rhythm is an easy target to get killed in pass protection. If we had a line that could run block, and not commit stupid penalties in the most crucial of times coughmikewilliamscough and put us in 2nd or 3rd and short. Teams would not blitz as much, and thus our oline would indeed look better because they wouldn't be getting exposed for the 300+ lb pieces of garbage that they really are. I hope to god that when Losman is starting next year we don't have the same oline we have now otherwise we're gonna be in for a very long 2005 as well. Tux of Borg
There is plenty of blame to go around. What we are seeing now is the team collapsing on itself. The finger pointing has begun and will continue for the rest of the season. McGahee - Our RB averaged 3.7 yards a carry today. Most were from McGahee bouncing to the outside and stiff arming a defender. Bledsoe - Tried to force the ball and ended up with 4 interceptions. O-Line - Didn't open up any holes and it seemed like someone was always getting beat. However, it appears like they are giving Bledsoe more time to throw the ball. Not a ton, but enough for him to throw it down field. Coaching - The play calling was terrible. The screen pass wasn't there the first 3 times we tried it. Why were we trying it for a 4th time? Reed - He makes a great catch and then goes back to his usual self. Defense - Other then Fletcher's stupid personal foul penalty, they didn't play horrible. kasper13
Let's go 1-15 with a little style. I hope players start calling out their teammates in press conferences and the newspaper. I hope players start blaming coaches and coaches start blaming players in public. Bledose blamed everybody (including the very hot Ravens Cheerleaders) except himself for the loss. They should, at least, make it interesting for the fans if they are not going to win games.
