    • No, it's immoral and should always be illegal.

    • No, I really don't mind it but it would be more trouble than it's worth.

    • Yes, this is limiting a person's right to use their body as they want.

    • Yes, we aren't putting a dent in it anyway and we could tax the $#!+ out of it!!

My personal feeling is that it should be legal. We spend a lot of money trying to police this and it seems like money wasted. If prostitution were legalized it could be zoned and regulated and most importantly taxed. Instead of losing money to prostitution we could make money from prostitution. It's a losing battle and one that's making things worse rather than better.

I'll tell you the problem though, it sends the wrong message to Teens. Anyone could become a prostitute especially with good looks, do we want to motivate our young people this way? I realize its going to happen one way or another, but most young men and woman will choose another way to make a living simply because its illegal.

There would be an age limit on it and I don't believe that anyone who wouldn't be a ho' now would be one then. It also makes it a lot safer for the women because they would operate out of a more regimented environment and it would make it harder for them to be targeted for crimes.

Yes, I think prostitution should be legalized and then taxed. You'd eliminate pimps and probably crackwhores. You can change prostitution to drugs and make the exact same argument. Legalizing illegal drugs would eliminate drug dealers. The government can then frown upon those activities as much as they want, but look the other way as they always do and gleefully collect their tax money (i.e., smoking cigarettes).

Should I add my two cents and say that pornography should also be illegal?

I'll disagree with this and say that we were born naked and why shouldn't the human body be worshipped by a bunch of guys who want to fire off some knucklechildren

Indifferent to it really as it doesn't so much affect me. It happens anyways, so why not regulate and capitalize? The only way I see it getting in my way is when lots of money goes toward putting an end to it (and I'm not sure that's realistic).

Sure, it's totally immoral, but I'll worry about the morality of my family myself. It's none of my business, honestly. I view it as a pretty victimless crime. Both parties make out. Have at it, just leave me out of it.

I kind of have the same view on same-sex marriage. Let the legal union of two people be 100% legal, who cares? Let the church define whether they allow it as marriage is really a religious institution.

Yup, I'd vote Libertarian if they were a viable party and not a group of pot smoking tree huggers. For now? I'm planning on writing in Kermit the Frog.

I am basically a Libertarian. I feel just about everything should be legal. We are supposed to be a free society, aren't we?

Exactly. The government has no business involving themselves in a private transaction between two consenting adults.

What is an isn't 'moral' is purely subjective and has no business in this discussion.

I'm not offended by the concept of prostitution. If a woman, of her own will, decides to make a living that way, I'm fine with that. The problem is that it's rarely that simple. Too many women turn to prostitution as a last resort because of financial and family problems. Others are forced into it by pimps and other men who care less about them. And no matter what precautions one takes there is always the risk of spreading disease. And even in places where it is legal like Amsterdam, organized crime traffics in sex slavery.

I do support the idea of punishing the john but offering the woman support and counseling to get out of the life.

Teaching morality to our children? Hell at $5500 per hour if I had a daughter she'd be in training right now (just kidding folks). How in the world has sex become immoral? It is the most wonderful experience two people can share together this side of an ice cold bottle of Krug Champagne.

BTW I love the make it legal and tax it. Why the hell do we have to tax EVERYTHING???

What, we can kill unborn babies in this country but you can't give a woman a few bucks for a bj? Something is pretty fugged up with that, IMO.

I was the first person to vote that it was bad and should be illegal?!! What country am I in?

The land of the FREE!!

No. (See above)

OMG!! Someone willing to take personal responsibility for their own family. I need to put that somewhere and bronze it. There are so few of you anymore. Thanks for not expecting society to raise your children for you. Now if we can get a lot of other people to do that!

True. "Mary Jane" should be legal at least for medicinal purposes. People who try to apply morals to social problems just create much bigger problems. Moonshining and gangsters making money from liquor is far less of a problem than it was back in the age of prohibition. I'm against any of the physically addicting stuff being legal but anything else should be ok IMO.

As a cancer patient in remission it apalls me that the so called "moral" crowd keeps marijuana from being legalized for medicinal purposes. Cocaine is legal for medicinal purposes!!

The "Im"moral people should stay out of these battles. Why do people expect society to raise their kids? I'm all for TV chips that block shows at a parents request but don't ask all TV and radio to be devoid of things you find offensive. The truth of the matter is that it only takes a few vocal nutjobs to make a TV station change something. If someone came out and refused to give in to these idiots I would have the most incredible amount of respect for them. Most of the indignation in this country is fake indignation.

Here's a radical idea; take responsibility for your own family. A kids greatest guidance is their parents. Guide them yourselves. If you try to shield them from things they will encounter in the world they won't know how to deal with them effectively when they pop up. You cannot force your children to do anything as they grow up and the tighter you grip the harder they'll work to get around the rules. Of all the friends I had in high school the one who lied the most and did things his parents would never approve of was the kid with the strictest parents. My parents gave moral guidance with freedom and I've never done anything like he did. When kids enter the rebellious stage the more you give them to rebel against the worse it will be.
