Some Bills fans are never happy, even when the team has a big win; they still find things to complain about. For certain, the torches and pitchforks will be out if it's a loss.

Maybe I am a negative nancy, but the game against the 4-9 Bengals required unprecedendent fluke interceptions by Burrows.  And still required the offense to close out a game despite an 11 point lead and less than four minutes to go.   Whatever the reason, injuries, other personnel issues, coaching, there is no evidence the deense has turned any corners.

The Bills played sloppy and unfocused last time against the Patriots.  After the last two weeks, there is some optimism rising they have turned the corner going into the home stretch.  This game will go a long way towards convincing fans they have found answers on run defense and in the pass game.  Or it could reinforce their inability to play consistent longer than a few games in a row.

 

Meanwhile, many are still skeptical of the Patriots (including me).  Beat the Bills again, and they will be seen as a legitimate contender.  Lose convincingly, and the fraud claims will only get louder.

The importance of this game is that if they can't win the division the Bills want the 5th seed.  As good as the wildcard teams are likely to be it's not out of the question that division winners are going to lose home games this playoff season.

No rational person thinks anyone is more important to their team's success than Allen.  There really is not even a second person to discuss.  Put Matt Stafford on the Bills, and I don't think they make a super bowl run.  Put Allen on the Rams, and they would appear invincible. But that does not seem to be the standard for MVP voting.  Only twice in history 1967, Johnny Unitas (team record 11-1-2) and 2008 with Peyton Manning has the MVP come from a team that did not win its division. 

Which says a lot about the sheer cowardice of the voters, who are far more concerned covering their butts than acting with integrity.

If there is one thing I'm not concerned about with the Bills is them being bullied. Even our QB is ready and willing to kick ass.

I haven't commented on the pats schedule, teams play who they are scheduled they have no control over it.  The pats are a good team anyone saying they are not has not been watching.

 

The pressure is waiting in the post season.  Its not there today for the bills staff.  I hope they win but this is not the end of the road if they lose.  It is a great warmup for how the playoffs are going to feel on the road however and in my opinion I think they will play the pats again, win or lose today.

14 teams make the playoffs. If the Chiefs, Bills or Ravens miss the playoffs, the season is a disaster for them. The Bills have never won a road playoff game under Mcdermott. It would be wild and exciting but still very unlikely for the Bills to go on the road and win three in a row to get to the Super Bowl.  Bills have a much better chance to win today and hope for a Dophins upset of the Patriots.    They really need to win today.

oFirst, that was a great play by Benford and an excellent defensive call, you are calling it a fluke shows your ignorance.

 

Second the patriots had to come from behind to beat that same team without burrow and chase.  They won the game because of one of the worst pick sixes you will ever see.  The throw from flacco was horrendous and about 5 seconds late.  Without that the pats lose to the same bengals team playing shorthanded that you said the bills needed fluke plays to win.  

 

You seem to be negative for the sole reason of negative.  Maybe it makes you feel better if you just expect them to lose because then the losses then hurt less.

 

either way your logic is lacking and you seem to be pretty willfully ignorant to further your negativity.

Yeah, that's the narrative nearly everyone keeps pitching. I think that narrative gets busted into pieces, then pulverized into dust...haha. Just thinking that Josh has this game marked on the calendar is going to be laser focused on this one. The team around him is going to feed off of that energy. This team goes where Josh leads them and he's going to be very focused, very in to that predatory mindset right out of the gate.

Only time in his career Burrows threw back to back interceptions. That is the very definition of a fluke.  If you watch that game and did not see the Bills defense totally dominated absent those two plays, I am pleased to have you think I am ignorant.

Beating the Bronco's in Denver , with Denver having an extra week of rest, is going to be a huge challenge for anyone.  But your scenario is fun.  But only if  Bills win the game against the Chiefs. Otherwise the story book ending is like a dark Grimm Brothers fairy tale.
