Just coming out of protocol Thursday and then 2 more.

It was bogus to me.

Also, a player has to protect himself.  He no doubt chose to stay in.  His future health is on him too.

Too Tee's credit he took himself out after the first one, pointing to his head. Perhaps at the point he is honestly trusting the medical doctors evaluating him and giving him the green light.

Actually Higgins, by his own admission, was evaluated multiple times for a concussion today and passed. Tua, on the other hand, didn't get evaluated until he got into the locker room at half time because the Dolphins staff was calling it a "back injury" and then basically ran interference for him on the independent consultant when they looked at the film.

I know, it was just a joke. However, it was pretty clear Higgins smacked his head multiple times, even grabbing at his head while getting up. By Tua treatment, I mean that the team kept sending him out there with a "passed" e v a l

Lotta blame being thrown Bengals way but as a player take yourself out for your own future. If the argument is his concussion occludes this line of thinking, ok, I don’t know if that happens.  But he’s pointing to his own head and knows what’s happening but too dumb to say live to fight another day? He has to shoulder some blame here.

There are just players, many players, that have to be saved from themselves. Higgins is one. Allen is another. They want to be on the field if at all possible.

Absolutely, first line of defense should be the independent Drs then the training staff and team but when they’re all failing you, maybe think to yourself that they don’t have your best interest in mind. The team and league look like fools for this.

It's a semantics argument from the league. They need to stop answering "could they go back in?" And start answering "should they go in?"

It's a resounding no.

yep, these dudes are wired differently.… I don’t fault Tee at all for wanting to come back in.  This is on the Bengals and the NFL.

I haven’t read the whole thread, but is there any chance at all that he was NOT concussed today?  Yes he has concussion issues, and yes he hit his head… but it is possible to not get a concussion when hitting your head. Are we making assumptions?

Don't kill me for this… just playing the other side..

I suspect he played concussed, but we don't know that for sure do we?

He had a big game and is a very good player.

He hit his head. Held it in his hands, the announcers discussed it and he never even went into the tent.

This was the worst farce travesty of the concussion protocol I have yet seen. Taking away any rooting interest this was proof that the protocol is not working in some pretty obvious situations. He was fresh off the protocol and suffered two additional concussive events in this game (let’s not be naive and pretend either are any less evident than the Jayden Daniel’s injury or that Drs know better than we do). Much like Tua staggering off the field, this sucked as a fan and as a human. Do better NFL.
