Kelly to Allen Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I defended him multiple times. I've compared him to Sean Jones and Charles Mann from the late 80s and early 90s. With Bosa out it's time for him to take this game over. I'm talking 2-3 sacks, multiple pressures, and causing constant havoc. He has the ability and has flashed the ability. He's 25 now and it's time to be a big time pass rusher. He played at an extremely high level vs KC so I expect the same here, and a little more. On a side note, we traded up for TJ Sanders and he's fully healthy. He flashed a lot in camp reportedly and looked to be turning a corner vs Pittsburgh. The ascension of these two is massive for this game and going forward is extremely important. 1 2 Quote
QB Bills Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago He won't get sacks but he's great at setting the edge and helping with the worst run defense this team has had in years. 2 1 Quote
SunDSolar Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 2-3 sacks only happens if we go up by two TDs early, allowing our DEs to go after Burrow without worry about setting the edge and run responsibilities on 1st and 2nd down. Quote
Yobogoya! Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I get where people are coming from when they say he is "doing what McDermott asks" most of the time, which makes him much less of a threat as a pass rusher. But with the current state of the D line, they'd better be asking him to do something else this game. 1 Quote
WotAGuy Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago The odds of him stepping up with a practice squad guy on the other end, are very, very slim. If anything, Groot will draw more attention and the practice squad guy will have a better chance to step up. Quote
Buddy Hix Posted 23 minutes ago Posted 23 minutes ago Groot is not a “step up” kinda guy. He’s a steady player who Beane overpaid. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 22 minutes ago Posted 22 minutes ago I think this is a game where AJE actually does well. He can be disruptive. Quote

Whites Bay Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago We get this goddamn thread every week. Sorry to come across as negative. I'm one of the more positive fans on the board. But seeing "Groot has to step up this week" is like expecting the sun to rise in the east. 1 Quote

Avisan Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Groot is a very good player who is appropriately paid for his contributions. The player you want him to be would have been extended for literally double the contract value. I feel like a broken record in these threads, but it doesn't change reality. Quote
