Phillips was a free agent and off of waivers. huge difference when it comes to the labor negotiations part of it.

Sure, but the mindset is the same. "I only want to play for 1 team"

I'm not necessarily blaming or bashing Beane here, I think it was a good idea to snag him and keep him off the Eagles if just for our upcoming game, but there had to be some hints. Slay's wife was posting Philly stuff all morning yesterday.

the mindset is the same but the issue is that Phillips was a free agent when the Bills re-signed him after initially getting him from Miami in 2018 off of waivers.

Slay doing this after the trade deadline and with a waiver wire then becoming upset with the result of his actions is something a child or imbecile would do...

He has a 1 year contract. Let him sit on his arse in retirement collecting the rest of the money ($350k) for the remainder of the season because he retired. The Bills are now liable to pay him the remainder of his contract - I may have even misread it to be as much as $1.255mm...

If he's going to have the chicken shiz to do something like that knowing he is going to get paid by Buffalo for retiring in order to avoid playing just to try to force their hand ... eff that guy.

I am not forgiving that to let him get released knowing that no other team is going to sign him knowing the crap he is going to pull to avoid playing for anyone but the Eagles. Then Howie Roseman can wait until waivers are up and the guaranteed part of the waivers is over and sign him to a new vet minimum and avoid the cap hit - most especially with the Bills having to still pay the contract he retired on because he cleared waivers... then the Eagles do not have to pay him anything because any contract is offset by what the Bills paid him as the contract taken on from the Eagles.

Literally cutting this Dbag enables him to go play for another team for free unless someone is going to get him on waivers - and thats not likely to happen after this.

AGAIN.... THIS GUY CAN CHOKE ON A BAG OF ....and hopefully the NFL remembers this negotiating the new NFLPA contract so the league maintains integrity and does not turn into the nba

And Houston claimed jamarcus Ingram

So we literally lose lose

Screw Darius slay he doesn't get to choose his destination and we just lost a guy who's been on our team for 3 years because him

Posted

Wow I really did not expect Ingram to get claimed. I guess Kamari Lassiter is injured so they need the depth? Oh well. Ingram is a marginal NFL player, I'm not losing sleep over it.

Why are people thinking Ingram will be claimed? He's a PS caliber CB that we keep around because he's been in our system for a few years. Whenever he actually gets on the field he looks lost.

Well the Houston Texans didn't think so - but maybe temporary insurance with Lassiter dinged up.

Ingram signed with Houston

This really shouldn't be allowed

Would you really come back in this scenario.  Ingram isnt a fan like us so I could see him saying FU if we had called.

Also... you as a player want to play on McDermott's defense orRyan's?

Oh ... and no state taxes in Texas.

Considering we do have a top notch organization and people love playing for Sean McDermott and he gave Ingram his chance in the NFL

I was told he was 100% going to sign back if he cleared waivers to the practice squad

There's zero chance he's saying f you to Sean McDermott who gave him his career.. we're talking about an undrafted guy from the University at Buffalo.. and Sean McDermott developed him for years

I think the player should have to report before you cut someone. Yeah once we cut Ingram, I knew it would not go over well although I hoped he'd get through waivers.

They just cut him to sign someone else.

That's the business of the NFL

We literally cut guys and bring them back to the practice squad all the time

Ingram 100% knew he's one of the bottom end guys and that means you are really close to being cut

The difference is Sean McDermott cuts guys and brings them back to the practice squad multiple times because they like playing for him... Guys like Brandon codrington bottom end guys have been cut and re signed multiple times

We literally play practice squad roulette with guys for years and they don't care because they like playing at one Bills drive

Wow Ingram claimed by Texans.

This doesn't look good for Beane. But I don't know the CBA rules on communication before a specific waiver claim. This sucks

I can't get too upset because when he was released, I literally thought claim him because of what happened in the AFC championship.

🤷

It's only fitting though this season if we now sign Dane Jackson to the active roster. Poyer, Dane, Tre in 2025 and January 2026 just like God intended

Where's Levi Wallace when we need him?

There's a lot of anger and assumed feeling by Slay here my man. He wanted out after not being active. Hoped to go to Philly. If not, he gets to spend the holidays with his kids. I havent seen any word of him being upset or throwing a tantrum. Dumb on Beane to take the chance, but that's the game.

I'd keep his rights and let him sit home too.

Good for Ingram, going to a Defensive HC who knows what he's doing.

As much as I'm trying to not bag on Beane here, it's looking like another botch-job from the Front Office.

Yeah…F Slay.  Either report and be happy to be a Bill, or rot on the reserve/retired list for the rest of the year.

Beg and plead all you want, doesn’t matter.  F him, F his agent & most of all F the Eagles.
