Starting boundary receivers at the start of the season:

- Keon Coleman

- Josh Palmer

Starting boundary receivers 2/3 through the season (both street FAs):

- Gabe Davis

- Brandin Cooks

I think Jeremy wins the argument 😉

I probably should have been more clear. I meant this last off season to the trade season, with DK Metcalf and Pickens moving for reasonable prices.

If you asked me at the deadline would I rather trade for Shaheed or get Cooks for free I'm still going Shaheed.

DK Metcalf got an extension, this year he getting $11m and has 9 yards more than Shakir who getting $2.6m this year. Then here's Metcalf cap hit the rest of his contract $31m/$32m/$34m and $41m compared to  $6.7m/$13m/$15m/$16m/$1.8m.

Yeah sorry give me Shakir over Metcalf based on performance and cap number more than not.

Shaheed since traded in 3 games has 3 catches and 30 yards receiving, Coleman has 3 catches 46 yards over the last 3 weeks (which was 1 games played). But yeah let's give up 4th and 5th round picks for the super fast guy.

Oh and Cooks has 38 yards during that same 3 game stretch.

No idea if cooks has any juice left but 60% of his starts last year were with cooper rush or trey lance at qb and he was comin off a couple knee procedures so you never know

I think the saints attempted some shenanigans to force no teams to be interested in him on waivers but it got shot down. He still was held to the waiver process though but maybe that’s what you were thinking of?

they tried to give him more guaranteed money in 2026 so no teams would want him haha pretty sneaky

Maybe I'm mixing up my hockey and football waiver rules. I though veterans didn't need to go through waivers.

What’s the over/under on how long it will take for us to IR Cooks? I would say 6 quarters.

I fully expect to him choke on turkey Thursday and be a late Friday add to the injury report with a subtle…throat listing.

I can hear McDermott telling Sal Friday morning cooks will be out with a throat injury.

True

But I also think it's a good sign that beane doesn't care about looking bad, but is doing whatever to get better regardless of ego

That's an extremely valuable character trait in management

The pronlem is.. We’re ALWAYS waiting for a healthy Kincaid (And Oliver too for that matter). Both made of glass. When Kincaid does return, what is the over/under before he's injured again. I say less than 1 game. Another Beane undersized player, who can't recover from a hard hit. Kincaid is fools gold.

Hes maybe a shade under average weight for an nfl TE.  240-250 is pretty standard.  Y’all are making it sound like he’s 190 pounds 😂

Brock bowers is the same height and lighter than Kincaid

While I agree, Beane can only blame himself for the position he’s put himself in, with his arrogance…

I think there’s a distinction for pre and post trade deadline.  I’m pretty sure everyone hits waivers after the deadline

After the trade deadline all players most go through waiver wire in the NFL.

Beane needs to go this offseason, that said this is nothing more than him trying to save his own Arse somehow.  Address WR in the damn offseason or go ahead and  trade away our 2026 1st for a good, established WR. God knows Beane is gonna screw up whatever 1st round pick we have this next year, and he sure as hell won't draft a WR worth a damn.

Do we still move on if Cooks turns out good?

No he's being a good GM trying to improve his roster based on what's available and at value he willing to take on.

Oh boy, i looked at some of the national sentiment on social media. Lots of media types are clowning on the Bills for this signing.  I mean it’s worth a swing right?!

Are people complaining about signing Cooks hating the move or hating something better wasn't done sooner? If it's the latter then there isn't anything that can be done about it now. This is pretty much all that was left to do. So it was Cooks or nothing, right?

It's kind of hard to look worse IMO.
