I think McDuffie, Worthy, Rice & Karlaftis are better than Shakir, Kincaid, Benford & Rousseau. I will grant it's not a massive gap. But the point stands that the Elam and Coleman picks are seriously hurting their ceiling as a team. Replace Coleman with Worthy, and Elam with a Kyle Gordon, maybe we are in the super bowl The margin is that thin because Allen and Mahomes cancel each other out I will be rooting for shaq because he is a very tough player. And we need it right now If Kincaid can stay healthy, I think I’d rather have Benford, Rousseau, Shakir and Kincaid. Kincaid seemingly can’t do that though and it’s to the point where I’m not hopeful he ever will. The postseason difference between them and us has been coaching and injuries. Funny how it took Dallas so long to figure out what we already knew. 1 Quote

And we need it right now The Bills core is Allen, Oliver, Rousseau, Dawkins and Brown. The Chiefs comparable core is Mahomes, Jones, Kelce and Smith and McDuffie. Their edge has largely been that they still had superstars who were there before Mahomes arrived.........the Bills do not have superstars who preceded Allen. It's been harder for both teams to find those once they had the superstar QB putting them in SB contention every year. But as far as drafting in general their success since McBeane arrived has been pretty close. 1 1 Quote

We should mortgage the future for more defensive players. McDermott doesn't focus enough on offense, and why should he? After all, our receivers are world class and our OL is young. Josh getting help should be an afterthought. Quote

McDuffie finished tied in the NFL DPOY(22nd) voting with Christian Benford last season. McDuffie is now a slot CB..........which basically excuses him from any "best CB in the NFL" talk but he probably is the best slot CB in the NFL. Bills day 3 pick Taron Johnson once held that claim. You getting my drift about Bills CB draft pick success or are you still mad at Beane for not drafting McDuffie instead of Elam when McDuffie was already off of the board? As usual, your post is on point. What I don't understand was why the Bills drafted Elam at all, let alone traded up for him. The focus should have been on providing Josh with protection and weapons, NOT a cornerback. The very next pick after Elam (#24) was Tyler Smith, an all pro guard who Dallas rewarded with a four year contract which contains 81 million dollars guaranteed. I'm sure he would have been a benefit to both the passing and running game. And this type of idiocy is not at alll new to the Bills. In 2008 we drafted Leodis McKelvin at #11 in round one. LT Ryan Clady went at #12, and Branden Albert (who was very good at both G and OT) went at #15. This, and our OL sucked at the time. If we simply had to go defense in 2022, George Karlaftis went at #30. They might have been able to trade down and take him. Wan'Dale Robinson was the 11th pick in round two. He isn't great, but is he better than anyone we have? I don't know, but he is doing rather well with a however promising rookie, and assorted stumblebums throwing to him. His production would undoubtably be better with Josh. Let me readily admit that it is easy to look back at these scenarios in retrospect. I am not saying that I would be a competent GM (although you probably would LOL) . The thing is, Beane's salary is undisclosed and McDermott is said to be making between 8 and 11 million per season, and their priorities are NOT getting protection and receivers for Josh. Nope, they want DTs and cornerbacks. This is what they are getting paid to do. Sorry to rant, but this situation is really beyond my ability to comprehand. Quote
