where do you start to get this team right? I am at a loss. 62 years old and am at a loss. bills fan for 50 years...

First thing I do is hire Belicheck and Daboll to coach this team.

There is probably a "glass half full" plan in here somewhere.  Oliver & Hoecht would be impactful, and will be back next year.  Bishop has become a revelation.  We have good CB's.  I think we need an overhaul at LB, but Shaq Thompson is a start. Groot isn't a star but he's a keeper.

On offense, the line is good, obviously Allen, Cook & Kincaid, and we have decent enough receivers if we get a true #1.

It might not be as tall an order as we think - or a full rebuild as some are starting to talk about.

Tough times right now, though.

Groot Sucks and just stole a Bag of beans from Beane! 😂

Do you honestly believe Belichick would work with Daboll again ? And that Daboll is the choice to right the offense's ship?

Why wouldn't they work together? And why wouldn't Daboll help Josh he helped him before?

If you’re trying to clear cap room immediately this is not the way to do it. This actually spreads the money out down the road. You only get two a year also.

Totally understand... But I I was more thinking that you're going to need a couple June 1st cuts to calm the dead cap implications on some of the more recent contracts. It's all completely hypothetical because I have not even looked at any of it realistically tbh... Just assuming that a couple June 1st cuts would be needed along the way...

I don't think BB and Daboll look eye to eye. Also, there are extensive discussions on this board about why Daboll is not a good OC overall.

Fire McDermott. Hire Bill. Bill is a better DC and better HC when he has an elite level QB. I dont care what is happening at UNC. He doesn't belong in college. Bill with Josh wins a Super Bowl IMHO.

And Bills’s girlfriend can bring back the Buffalo Jills

It baffles me that people like you never think of the fact that we have the greatest qb to ever play for the Bills when you say things like this.  Any of the drought coaches would have won with Josh Allen, heck, one of them may could have won a SB with him.  There is a reason that McDermott was recently ranked 15th as coach, even with all the wins you mentioned.  He is average...at BEST.  Any decent coach and GM would have at least 1 SB with Josh Allen by now

Yeah, Chan Gailey put together a decent offense with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB.

it is reported that both Beane and McDermott report directly to Pegula. Therefore if a new GM is bought in to replace Beane,  that he'd be still having to deal with McDermott as head coach.

If Pegula is the only person who can sack McDermott then the new incoming GM would still have to align with McDermott and to be honest it'd seem like McDermott would have the upper hand because he has survived his hand picked GM (Beane) and would have a very big input on Beane's replacement especially if the same structure remains (both reporting to Pegula).

If I was the new GM I would have to immediately try and either trade McDermott to a needy team for picks or convice Pegula to replace him. Getting a new GM with McDermott is just more of the same pain of continually coming up short.

^^^ i don't want a GM thats taking this job with McD on board.

Maybe you hire gm - he picks coach ORRR hire coach, he picks GM. But any GM taking this job with McD here is already starting off on a bad foot and in a power imbalance

Honest to God, I know we wont.... but id prefer we lose a bunch the rest of this season.

IR these guys and dont risk anything further. Blow up the staff in off season, or bare minimum get serious about bringing in real coordinators.

Id genuinely prefer we miss playoffs. We need the better draft picks. If we can we basically start the 're-load' early, and that might help us next year, but at worse re opens 2027 as a true window.

1. Move Kincaid if we feel hes near peak value. We cant keep extending injury prone players.

2. Move Big Ed. This again salary + injuries Move.

3. Knox. Gone. Milano gone.

4. Shop Torrence. I could be convinced either way depending on what the return would be.

5. Shop Shakir. Hes a nice player, but hes a fancy tier 1, #3. We dont have a number 1 or 2. Gotta do what ever it takes to get those. We won't be able to get tier 1 for both the boundary spots... draft one and trade for one is probably the way to plug those.

6. Shop Dawkins. I hate it, thats my dude.. no thats not because of false starts. Hes no spring chicken, hes salary is starting to climb right around the time his play level is going to start to dip. Idk what kinda value hed bring, but id quietly find out.

The good news? Bishop is gunna be fantastic. Benford rebounding it feels like.  Hairston looks good out there, after a mega abbreviated TC, missing 10 games (pre season wouldve helped him too). concussion makes me a lil nervous, but that's probably more my Bills ptsd than a valid concern right now (btw... did Cole Bishop dish that out to him? I saw him friendly fire at least once last night lol)

Im not at 5 star alarm on Bernard, ive watched him super close last 2 games, and hes only out there because everyone else is beat up.

Dude cant run right now, looks like some variation of lower body injury, the kind that sucks but fine long term. Let's hope we can get 14-15 really solid games a year outta him, hes a plus player.

Im frustrated, but not enough to be irrational like other L's. I think these are all pretty even keeled ideas.

Were not gunna trade kincaid, Oliver, Shakir and Torrence in an off season, but id hard shop Dalton & Oliver... kick around idea of 1 of the other 2.
