No sane GM would make a trade for him.  Everybody has seen what little upside he has.

A 22 year old big-bodied receiver? Tons of teams would send back a late pick and take a flyer on him as a reclamation project.

I dont want to see him out there, either. But I wouldnt give up on him just yet. Hes too young and the upside is just too great to throw him away.

I guess the Chargers should have dealt Quinton Johnston last year (his second NFL season BTW) when he had 700 yards receiving as a former 1st Round pick.  Coleman before his benching was on pace for 626 but yeah I know I know Johnston  has to compete with the all time great Ladd McConkey who was amazing yesterday when he had 3 catches for 13 yards.   Oh wait no we should have stayed put and drafted speed merchant Xavier Worthy who had 3 catches for 25 yards yesterday.

I'm not sure about the upside from what we have seen. I will say this though, I think it's hard to get into a good passing rhythm with an everyone eats offense that runs the ball half the time.

On Sunday vs Tampa Joe Brady came with more of an up tempo, chunk play, passing attack. The kind of passing attack Bills fans have grown accustomed to seeing.

The kind of passing attack that can give a young WR like Keon Coleman a better chance to succeed IMO.

No team will want to reclaim him as a boundary guy as there's plenty of evidence he's not suited for that role, but I think some might look back at his college production in the slot and think he could be worth a late-round pick to play there again.

The same posters saying trade Coleman are the same ones that said trade Cole Bishop and that he sucked

This staff would be incredibly inept if they were to just take a late rounder for a guy that has some real ability and potential in only their second season

You continue to work with him and get him to mature...not give up on for pennies on the dollar

You can fix scheme, you can fix technique, you can’t fix effort and you can’t make up for poor attitude. Knowing how he is struggling and still showing up late for a meeting?? He needs to be gone. I had trouble putting up with the diva stuff with diggs when he was going for 1000 every year. Get this dude the heck out

and despite all this Keon has put up numbers that are similar to those other WRs drafted around him in the same draft class. Yet I know I know stats don't matter only when they do when want to complain that he's not as good as McConkey, who isn't the type of WR we needed when we drafted Coleman.  I mean Coleman had as many yards as Ricky Pearsall (drafted 7 spots before him) had yesterday on 1 less catch.

He’s incredibly inefficient. Since coming back last year, he’s played in 16 games. That’s basically a full season. He’s had the ball thrown to him 78 times. They’ve completed 32 of those for 491 yards and 4 TDs. If we add the average for a 17th game the stats look like this 34/522/4TDs on 83 targets. 🤣🤣 He did that while playing with the MVP of the league. For context 34 receptions would have been tied for 138 last year. 522 receiving yards would be 86th. 4 TDs would be tied for 62nd. Coleman has had opportunities that others have not. Legette, Worthy, Pearsall, McConkey, Franklin, Mitchell, etc.. would all be better than him if drafted by the Bills. He plays with the league MVP at QB. He’s AWFUL. Why are we still doing this? He’s a scrub.

And where is Diggs right now??????????????????????????????????????

I generally get what youre putting out but giving up on a 22 year old is tough. If you want to go this route fine but DO NOT do the "whoa is us, so Billlsy" routine when hes being productive, even marginally, for another club and national pregame media is doing an expose on him about "how much hes grown, look at him now."

Also....its not like players dont evolve and change. I mean...the entire Oakland Raiders dynasty (Im dating myself) was built off misfits, castoffs from other teams and outcasts.

I get it and I’d never send someone away strictly for lack of production that early on but when you put lack of production with the atrocious effort and the poor attitude and continual discipline problems, let someone else deal with it

Coleman has had a season and a half to show signs of maturity.  He hasn't.  It makes it seem doubtful he's ever going to grow up.  His trade value is minimal though.  I would guess somewhere in the 5th to 7th round range.

Yes, try to get a 5th, take a 7th. If not, cut.

If there was a team willing to trade a 5th round pick for him in March, I would think you have to jump on that.

Thing is, NO ONE is going to do that.

Maybe a 7th, but the trading team takes on around $4M in guarantees.  So, once again, not sure if a 7th is going to happen.

Cutting him in March costs $5.5M in Dead Money.  Not exactly what is needed with the cap situation.

If you can't trade him, it makes sense to bring him to camp and hope for some maturity.

If he doesn't show you that, cut him 1 Sep to ease the cap hit.

IMO.

How do you know all that those aforementioned be better than Keon if played here?  What opportunities has Keon had that others have had? Certainly not targets which I equate to opportunity. Let me ask why are you ignoring Keon's pre injury success? Cuz it doesn't make him look as bad as you want him to be. Keon's lack of success in part because of offense he is in.  Yet if you compare him at a yards per catch or TD percentage he on par with his draft counter parts.

Yet I'll give you that  you're only as good at what did lately right?

Well let's look at last game  each of them played. Keon to what Ladd, Pearsall, Worthy, and Mitchell combined. Keon had 8 targets  3 catches 46 yards and 1 TD. The field had 18 targets which lead to 7 catches 48 yards and 0 TDs. So you still going to tell me the field better than Keon. Sorry not sorry but I disagree.

What upside?  Speed, route running, jump ball win rate, work ethic?  Because he has been an abysmal failure in all categories.

We got a 5th for Elam and he couldn’t even get on the field.

do not underestimate GMs who think they are smarter than each other

Beane drafting him over mcconkey would be a prime example.

Waaaaay too early to be thinking about trading him, UNLESS the off the field issues continue or worsen.  Otherwise we need to give him a chance to grow up, become a true professional and give the team a chance to see if he has anything to offer.

Youth, size, general athletic ability. Yes, he's been hot garbage but if the Bills cut him outright he would be picked up by another team before lunch tomorrow.  He HAS value right now. Maybe trade him in March. Cut now, as some suggest? No way.

My goodness, I’m stunned that there are still Keon truthers out there. Some people get on the lifeboats and some keep playing the violin as the Titanic takes on water.

34 catches on 83 targets is the worst that I’ve ever heard of. He is catching 41% of the balls thrown his way over the equivalent of a season!! I don’t know where you’d find that data but that has to be one of the worst percentages of all-time!! Keon has been targeted, a lot, by the league’s MVP. He has failed miserably based on pretty much all metrics.

Why the need to defend him so hard? If we want to look at how much he flourished pre-injury and ignore the last full season, okay. If we decide to ignore the last 17 games he was on pace for 42 catches on 68 targets for 788 yards and 6 TDs. Taking only the best of Keon, you get the 102nd most catches despite being the top option with the league’s best QB.

Keon sucks. None of us wanted that to be the case. A lot of us expected it to be the case but it’s been worse than even the most negative on him could have imagined. He entered camp as the number 1 WR. He is a healthy scratch by Thanksgiving so that Gabe Davis and Mecole Hardman could get jerseys. The Bills proceeded to have their best game through the air this season. The best thing for the Bills would be for him to remain in street clothes until his Bills career ends in 4 months.
