Trade Deadline has come and gone

I hate to side with Beane on this one...yeah, it's great to stay pat. Keep our picks.

 

Just look at our injury plagued defense. We need all of our picks and then some. Good lord. We need fresh younger bodies.

Injuries are all the more reason to add to some help at the trade deadline. The AFC is wide open this year. Why not spend some draft picks and add a WR or some DL help. 

 

IMO there is too much focus on the future with this fan base. A lot of that is due to the drought years.

Win now.  Who knows what tomorrow brings?  For us older Bills fans especially- win now!  We aren’t going to be here forever.  I’ve been a huge Bills and Sabres fan since early 70s.  Me and my fellow older Bills/Sabres know heartbreak deeply.  Give us something!

Value worked out, won’t deny that. I think Addison was gone by that point? I believe the next WR after Kincaid was Jonathon Minho?

Jaxon Smith-Nj went 20, Quentin Johnson went 21, Zay Flowers 22, Addison 23.  There was a big drop off at WR, and Dalton was the closest thing to a top WR.  Cowboys loved Dalton, and we’re gonna draft him.  Beane traded up from 27, to 25.  Beane sent pick 27 and 130 for Dalton

Yup, that was how it panned out. Not knocking the pick for one second. He’s a solid player, was just weird to give a massive extension to a TE, draft a replacement that essentially turned a high salary guy into a role player.

Internally, I think everyone understands that Josh is great. I also think ownership thinks that McD is great. That kinda leaves a big old target on Beano’s back when they start playing the blame game. 
 

A GM going on local radio ranting about how he found his QB almost a decade ago and that they don’t need a WR and then like 2 months later restructuring contracts to try to trade for a WR is actually ludicrous.
 

IMO, that’s part of the reason why he is very extension happy with his drafted players. He's trying to build some W’s. You start running a hardline with guys like Bernard or Rousseau or Benford and insinuate that they may not be worth a big second contract here, and folks may start asking about the guy who drafted them in the first place.

Would be interesting to see who the targets were in their entirety. 
 

Is it just doing something to appease fans by “going after a guy”? 
 

If they were going after anyone you’d like to think it would be a difference maker; Olave, AJ Brown, Waddle or Garrett Wilson. If those were the preferred choices, the return was always going to be significant to their respective teams. 
 

Obiously they were either not available or the offers weren’t up to par. 
 

Im on both sides of the fence on this one. It would have been nice to acquire any of those players who are elite or on that potential but keeping the draft capital for future also makes sense given the salary cap implications those guys would entail. 
 

Hopefully Theyre willing to move out of the late 20’s to 32 given that’s the projection of pick placement and up into the region where Lemon/Tyson/Boston are being projected- 12-18 range. 
 

Would love Carnell Tate if he declares but I’d bet he’s a top 10 pick with the way this college season is going.

Hines two kickoff returns after Damar is one of the great moments in Bills history.

 

Rasul Douglas was a solid pick up.  He made some big plays for us, and played very well his first year.

 

The Amari effect is a real thing.  Bills passing offense was trash 3 games in a row-Ravens-Texans-Jets.  Next week Amari starts, Bills finally have a WR that Defenses respect.  D backs up, middle is open, great for Shakir and Cook.  Bills blow out the Texans. Bills score 30+ points 8 games in a row after acquiring Amari.  Bills go over 40 points 3 times after acquiring Amari.

 

Kelvin Benjamin- I give you.  Beanes worst move ever.  Lazy, fat, lazy, with an attitude.  Josh Allen asked Kelvin if he wanted to work on routes and timing after practice.  Kelvin “no thanks.  I’m tired and going home”

There wasn't much available. Slim pickings. Also, takes 2 to tango in a trade. When the other side doesn't wanna deal, can't force them.

 

One new DL guy, in our current situation, with all of these injuries and washed up players, not going to help. One guy will never be the cure all Magic Pill unless that ONE guy is the QB.

 

Also, just ONE receiver? That's not going to help us. No chemistry/rapport built with Josh Allen and doesn't know the system. That's always built in the Summer.
