Beane gets a lot of flack for players not performing to their draft status in the 1st round, but I would guess every other GM in the National Football League has drafted similar players but earlier in the 1st round. Plus, drafting at the end means you get leftovers. Do we really think we can do better than Beane? To answer your question, I think that Beane would do better without McDermott. Quote

Mr. WEO Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago he's doing nothing for that team with a small number of sacks nearly halfway through the season. Quote

Then they hired Mouse McNally a famed OL coach. The line either stayed the same or got worse. What I learned from this is that talent is even more important than scheme. And then we signed Aaron Kromer and our OL is great. i agree that talent more important than scheme in a way where if your players suck the results will be poor. I do believe a good scheme can raise the level of play of every players Quote

Add in Bosa's 4 forced fumbles and the fact that he has a pretty friendly contract and Bosa is a pretty good deal. Bosa is also still a high end edge setter against the run. Von even in 2022 when he was closer to his prime pre-injury was not great against the run he wasn't bad at all (Von was a very good edge setter in his prime) but he wasn't controlling the edge against the run either. 1 Quote

He was injured basically his entire tenure with the team, so counting on him in 2025 would have been kind of silly. Edited 1 hour ago by Bleeding Bills Blue Quote

My point was about the OL. During many of the Levy years and even beyond, OL talent seemed like an afterthought, and all the coaching schemes in the world were not going to make them good. Quote

He has 4x half sacks and 2 full sacks. One of his 2 real sacks came with 30 seconds left in the game against the Chargers after they had benched Herbert . He is a relentless stat padder at this point of his career. Quote
