They wanted him to be more than a boundary guy. Had a target for him of 40% of snaps from the slot. So far hasn't worked out. Steve Smith has said that in order to show real #1 receiver qualities BTJ had to show greater versatility this year. Hasn't happened so far.

In my mind, Beanes finalizing a deal that brings in Max Crosby, Chris Olave and Budda Baker for an incredibly team friendly price and in reality, he’s probably pulling the trigger on a deal that sends next years first round pick and 2027s 3rd rounder to bring back zay jones
