What is most interesting to me was likely how long did the FBI sit on it before acting?  The feds don't play but they don't rush when it comes to going after the common Man. Celebrities often get a little bit of better treatment to lock up every detail, cross every t and dot every i.

So, has this been going on for over a year? 2 years? How long did the federal gov allow this to occur?

The NBA investigating and clearing Rozier seems like something that could be, or should be, a major issue.

The NBA has been a source of fraud for a long time.

I can't believe that there are people who don't believe things like this aren't happening in the NFL. Refs, Vegas, Owners, who knows. I'm just not going to be surprised that one day someone will follow the money and we'll have some answers to all the questions and doubts we've had about officiating and unexplainable play calling. The doubt and questioning by many already has had and affect on me and how I view the game.

Yep. If mafia families are in NBA, what makes people think they aren’t in NFL- which is a much bigger payday?

Here's a professional poker player discussing rigged games on a podcast over 2 years ago. I'm actually familiar with Berkey and have played poker with him before. It seems like the rigged poker games with Billups have been going on for a while.

I've always wondered why the NBA allows LeBron to do commercials for DraftKings gambling site.

At least the NFL wouldn't allow an active player to do gambling ads.

If you look far enough back on this board you will find a thread in which I predicted the next three NBA Champions accurately.  In it, I predicted the Mavericks who were not a high seed, the Celtics, and then a 7 game final between the Celtics and Lakers.  I gave a slight edge to the Lakers in 7 but was adamant it would be Celtics/Lakers and would 100% go 7.  It did and the Lakers won.  I had no insider knowledge but the narrative was extremely obvious.

The NBA has been fixed for a long time.  It’s still fixed.  I haven’t watched for quite a while so I have no feel for the current narrative but it is obviously an orchestrated product.

The Lakers won in 2009 and 2010 the Mavericks won 2011

You might be a little confused with the years.. Boston beat the Lakers in 08

These guys have already made tens of millions of dollars, if not hundreds of millions. Did they piss all that away already, or are they just so arrogant that they think they are above consequences? Either way, they have to be complete idiots. They deserve what they get, and I hope it’s a heavy price. I haven’t watched the NBA in more than a decade, and I don’t feel I’ve missed anything.

The NFL is not far behind the NBA in my book.

I remembered the sequence incorrectly.  My predictions were after the Celtics win in 08.  I said:

Lakers to beat non Celtics team after an “injury” to a Celtics player.  This turned out correct and the Garnet late season injury also happened. Lakers beat Magic.

Then Lakers/Celtics to go 7.  I did not pick the winner but leaned Lakers.  Correct.

I said that the following year an unusual team would win and the year after that LeBron would win, whichever team he was on.  Also turned out to be true.

I made all of the above predictions in the 08/09 season.  There is an old thread somewhere in the archives here to prove it.

When the 10/11 playoffs rolled around I predicted the Mavericks would be the unusual team. That got a lot of laughs but turned out to be correct.  I was not certain it would be the Mavericks but Mark Cuban being on Shark Tank was a big clue.

Ohtani?

I hope Davey Roberts gets in the FBI’s way and gets punched in the face a few times.

Hmmm, was his buddy a thief, or a friend who took the fall?

It could be a slam dunk, hard cold fact that Ohtani did nothing wrong, but it does come to mind, doesn’t it? The more this happens, and it will continue (whether we see it or not), the more we will wonder and question our trust.

I’m generally not a conspiracy theorist, but the thought that legalized gambling has affected the game is gaining traction amongst a large portion of the fan base, and I don’t think the league can continue to ignore it.

The Guardians have two guys, including their closer, on indefinite suspension over gambling inquiries.  Accepting that Ohtani’s interpreter was the sole guilty party without any serious look is a real turnip truck moment.

Agree and well said. Im more the guy who doesn't want to believe stuff. This doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility so I can see where traction is coming from and I wouldn't be shocked if one day we found out.
