stlbills13 Posted Thursday at 03:19 PM Posted Thursday at 03:19 PM If on November 5th we had a WR group of Olave Meyers Shakir Coleman Palmer Samuel/Moore/Shavers/Gabe I could probably get on board with being semi-excited for the rest of this season. Still not great but it forces everyone into a more natural role. You still need a lot of help on defense but that is a group that could probably do enough if Josh is Superman. 1 Quote
BuffaloBaumer Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM The defense can get by on what they have, especially when some injured/suspended players return. Maybe add a safety that would at least be a minor upgrade on what they have. What they absolutely HAVE to do is add a #1 WR that changes the ENTIRE offense. I don't care how many draft picks they need to give away, or how you need to manipulate the cap, do it already. This team only succeeds when Allen can do his thing, and getting a true #1 changes everything for Josh, Shakir, Coleman, Kincaid, and Cook. 3 Quote

If they somehow find a way to trade for Olave and Meyers this team has a top 10 WR unit in the NFL. Olave is a legit lower end WR1, Meyers is a legit WR2, Shakir a top slot WR in the league and Keon and Palmer as WR 4/5 is the better depth options in the league. They aren't going to be able to trade for both. But the idea that if they did that it would only make you semi-excited is hilarious to me. If this team could get Olave and he stays healthy this offense is transformed. 12 minutes ago, BuffaloBaumer said: The defense can get by on what they have, especially when some injured/suspended players return. BuffaloBaumer Posted Thursday at 03:49 PM Posted Thursday at 03:49 PM The problem is that Giants and Patriots are all over the WR talk, and no doubt have a much better cap situation than Buffalo...not to mention the drafting position next year, if a 1st is involved. Quote

The giants cap situation is as bad as Buffalo's. Barnwell had them trading Deonte Banks to Miami for waddle because it would clear cap space to handle waddle. 1 Quote

Josh Allen for a 1st. Let him go with a competent organization. But back to your premise if we get Olave I want another WR, too. Ridley and Olave - sending Samuel or Davis or someone else young would be fine - is what i would take. I saw a video on Youtube that JA17 is unhappy and wants to be traded to a decent team. 2 1 Quote

The Giants cap isn't much better, fortunately for the Bills there's several WR options out there on the market. Adams was the big WR on the trade market last season and the Bills were still able to make a move at WR even after the Jets got Adams. So if the Pats acquire Meyers the Bills still have options out there. Quote

starrymessenger Posted Thursday at 04:23 PM Posted Thursday at 04:23 PM My gut tells me Shaheed is, and should be imo, the target- for a fourth. But McD will probably look for help at safety. 1 Quote

And there is no guarantee he will try to make a deal before the trade deadline ACK I want some action dangit. I can't be alone. I guess I'll need to TRY to learn patience.. Quote

Low Positive Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM In my opinion, there won't be significant moves until after Sunday's game, at the earliest. With 7 wildcard spots, it takes longer for teams to consider themselves out of the race and thereby sellers. The only teams that are probably looking towards next year at this point are the Jets, Dolphins, and Browns, and two of those teams wold demand a MASSIVE overpay from the Bills. If the Saints win this Sunday at Chicago, they may decide to stay the course and attempt to compete. They've been in every game, and they haven't even played a single division game. Also, the Steelers and Pats are currently also in the WR market, and both of them have MUCH better cap situations than the Bills. The Steelers are also very much in "win now" mode with one year of Aaron Rodgers. And just in case no one is paying attention, they are currently the one seed in the AFC and have a very winnible game in Cincinnati tonight. I expect Waddle to be a Steeler any day now. And if Bills fans want Olave or Shaheed, we all need to be Bears fans this week. 3 1 Quote
JAMIEBUF12 Posted Thursday at 06:25 PM Posted Thursday at 06:25 PM How about a trade with the Cowboys for wide receiver George Pickens ? I think if Dallas loses again before the trade deadline Jerry may just decide to blow it up a little with all the draft picks he is sitting on. Dallas traded a 2026 3rd round and a 2027 5th round pick for Pickens. The Bills could offer a 2026 2nd rounder and a player? Pickens could excel on the Bills. If the Bills end up meeting the Steelers in the playoffs I am sure George would be motivated like Diggs was against the Bills two weeks ago. It is not the sexy trade, but it would definitely help the Bills without setting the team far back and it helps Dallas if they are going into rebuild mode. GO BILLS 1 Quote
PetermansRedemption Posted Thursday at 06:29 PM Posted Thursday at 06:29 PM With how awesome Pickens has been for Dallas I can’t see them giving him up yet. 2 1 1 Quote
QB Bills Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM George Pickens catching passes from Josh Allen isn't sexy? Check out Jay Sherman over here.. 1 1 Quote
JAMIEBUF12 Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM I see your point. My thinking was if Dallas loses again. They may go another route. Quote
