Arguably it's the scouts' recommendations more than Beane that are responsible for the lower round successes.

That said, he still has a long ways to go to be a complete player.  When you watch him on film, you see the highlights that everyone posts.  The big plays, tackles for loss, etc.  However, for each of those plays he makes, you can find just as many plays where he is getting washed out of the play because he tries to cheat a play.  He'll try to backdoor a play and chase it down.  But, he'll get caught and just pushed down the line or way out of his gap allowing for some of these explosive plays to happen.

 

That said, I think it is going to be easier to fix those run fits and fix his pad levels when he gets too high than it would be to get the explosive plays.  If he's a worker and wants to be dominant, he will be.  He shows flashes of potential greatness, but also of being young and making poor decisions at times.  Gotta find that balance.  But overall, there is a lot to be excited about.

What's really refreshing about Walker is he's the first Bills rookie in seemingly forever where we aren't desperately searching for small flashes or telling ourselves to stay patient with his development. He showed up day one making splash plays and before the bye week already looks like a future cornerstone. When's the last time a Bills rookie did that? Tre White maybe?

Bills D Line I am very optimistic for.  They have consistently been getting pressure. Ed was playing great- got hurt.  Roos had a bone bruise, and played great against Atlanta.  3 of 4 1st half drives Atlanta scored TDs.  Bills D one first half stop- Roos made big stops on first, second, and third downs.  Ed and Roos are studs.

 

Bosa has had great rushes, and very close.  Hoecht has really impressed me when I watch his tape in preseason and with Rams.  Larry O is a big body that can help dictate the line of scrimmage.

 

We have depth with Sanders, AJ, and DaQuan.

 

Consider all this, and add in Deone, the Bills DLine is going to get much nastier!
