The fact that we're having those arguments shows that this build didn't get the job done. Giving McDermott another 2-3 years accomplishes nothing. They should fire Beane today but I get waiting until the season plays out. It would be pretty dumb to fire your GM then the team makes it to the Super Bowl. I get that. But the day our season ends assuming it's not a deep playoff run he needs to be let go. McDermott is the guy who sets the tone, wants a certain kind of offense (which is why he and Daboll didn't get along) and has fired coordinator after coordinator during his time here. The buck stops with him. Do we really expect yet another OC (who will almost certainly just be promoted from within) to be different in any kind of meaningful way? Imagine having an all-time great QB yet every one of his OCs gets fired. Not leaves for HC jobs. Fired. Because the offense cannot pass the ball with that QB . Or the....."Not many teams have beaten Mahomes & Reid in the postseason. It isn’t just McDermott". Except of course Zac Taylor & Sirianni. Quote

Mr. WEO Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The players like him as a guy, but they other tahn zJsoh and Cook, I don't think they are motivated by him to excel. Perfect example is Coleman--why on earth would a guy like that, with everyone expecting him to take the next step, would he need to be a healthy scratch multiple times for behavioral issues? Why would it happen even once?? These guys are not inspired by McD, clearly they don't fear him as a leader. I think he's losing the locker room. He's gotta go. Quote
transient Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m a lapsed Sabres fan. Terry Pegula is responsible for that. Now he’s doing it to my Bills fandom, as well. Someone upstream commented that they don’t want Beane picking the new HC… this team, with an all-time great QB, is *****. Can’t reach their goals with the current staff, that’s becoming clearer with each passing day, can’t rely on the owner to make a competent, informed hire if he actually does have the stones to do what needs to be done (which, if you follow the career of Kevyn Adams, is in serious doubt anyway). metbill Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I say yes, he should have been gone a few years ago. The main issue now is, for what? The cap mess is going to keep the necessary rebuild from happening in Josh's last years. Just have to band aid it over enough to fill a few key holes and hope it is enough. No hope in relying on the draft as that has been a mess with Beane and Co. outside of a few picks. There are 2 maybe 3 pillars of a playoff team here now. Need to find about 15-20 diamonds in the rough. May as well keep McD and let him ride out Josh's last seasons until Josh retires or gets traded to a team to try one last time for a chip. Quote
