Another Fan Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Like they always push food on you if it’s there or available? My grandmother was like that. There’s some people I work with like that too. I mean I understand a lot of times that’s a sign of love and affection kind of thing…. but it can get annoying sometimes too. lol. Especially if I just ate 1 Quote
Fleezoid Posted August 26 Posted August 26 It can get awkward when you refuse. What I do is look at them and politely say......."Get that **** away from me!" 3 Quote

As a way of compensating, her children and grandchildren were always admonished to eat. 1 1 Quote

Augie Posted August 26 Posted August 26 My wife’s ethnic mother was always pushing food, usually some middle eastern stuff I wasn’t in love with. I learned it wasn’t just her, the entire family is a bunch of food pushers. We showed up at a cousin’s one time and they pulled out like FIVE cakes. Who has that much cake lying around? But I learned that was the norm. Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 26 Posted August 26 One of my co-workers is always bringing in food to work to share with everyone. I know her intentions are good, but she just can’t cook worth a darn and people feel obligated to eat her food. On Monday she brought in these Salisbury steak meatballs which sounds decent in theory. Until I saw raisins in there with the meatballs. 🤮 1 Quote

Just Jack Posted August 27 Posted August 27 My grandmother (rip) for family holiday gatherings, would always have multiple desserts. We're talking 3-5 pies, 1-2 cakes, chocolate chip cookies, etc. One year we jokingly said we were hoping she had donuts. Next gathering, she included donuts. Quote

I think I'd be a little more apprehensive about the texture than the flavor. But if this co-worker has a history of questionable recipes, I guess it's fair to be pessimistic.
