Last year we were two weeks away from the Hampton in Buffalo, and the fans in any downtown pub we could get into. Not changing that this year, still want the Bills Mafia experience for the big one. I’ll call it now, they’re getting the push. Hard Knocks, Hallmark, MVP, last year in the old stadium, odds on favorite to win the Superbowl etc. For me it’s hot wings, beef on weck, and local ale at the establishment. Give me your Superbowl experience this year because you know it’s coming i hope Josh was just holding out till he got to play close to home!! Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted August 4 Posted August 4 My friends and I argue about this all the time. Would we watch with a small group of die hards like we do for the playoffs, or go to a public place with a ton of fans? Probably stay home. Then join everyone else in the streets afterwards. Quote
KingBoots8 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I live in the southern tier. I’ll be driving up to Buffalo to watch and celebrate. Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I'm seeing where some are treating this scenario like any given Sunday or at most, like any other Bills game. But it's not. The OP asked what you would do if the Bills were in the Super Bowl. Treating it like any other game would be highly underwhelming to put it nicely. There is a collective spirit on such occasions that any true fan would feel compelled and duty-bound to be a part of. It goes beyond settling for your comfort zone. If you didn't have the means to attend the Super Bowl, make it to Buffalo, or pilgrim to the host city, you should minimally congregate with other Bills fans in the best way you can. I've had a few unforgettably joyous experiences watching Bills playoff games in sports bars far from home. I've met fellow Bills fans that I still stay in contact with even though we were only in each others' companies for a short while, many years and many miles ago. 1 Quote
Scott7975 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I'd love to go to one and there was a time I could have afforded it. They priced me out of it. I will still enjoy the hell out of it from home. 15 hours ago, Doc Brown said: No. Waste of plutonium. I already know the Eagles spanked the Chiefs in the Super Bowl this year. OMG I cant believe I didn't catch it on your first post until I read this one. Im getting old and my mind is getting weak lol. Quote
Ray Stonada Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I attended two AFC championship games (51-3 and 30-13) for less than 50 bucks a ticket. And my dad and I went to the 4th Super Bowl in the Georgia Dome (ugh). Back then it cost about 4000 dollars for two tickets, flights, and hotel in Atlanta. But I can't afford to go to a Super Bowl nowadays. It's gone too crazy. So I will do the next best thing and fly to Buffalo, either to a bar, Niagara Square, or, I hope they have a watch party at the stadium. Would be an incredible way for Highmark to go out... 1 1 Quote
Bills fan since 87 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) My dad is 81, and his health isn't the best. I'll drive back home to the Adirondacks to watch with him. I live in Rochester now and would love to head out to Buffalo to be a part of a watch party but if they make it, I need to watch with him. For all 4 of our Super Bowls in the 90's he had to work, bartending, so i've always hoped that they would make it back so we could watch together. Last years loss to the Chiefs was especially rough, as we were so close and I am not sure how many more opportunities I might have with my dad. Edited August 5 by Bills fan since 87 2 Quote
dcinmuncie Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) very superstitious Alone in my basement in front of my 75 Likely phone off sipping on bib on Tucker 6 in a bills bourbon glass with two bills blankets on me on my couch I’m too emotional to watch games with people. I can’t imagine what a train wreck I’d be watching them in a Super Bowl in fact, I’m pretty sure they lost the afc championship game this year because I watched it at my dads house in pittsford instead of my basement in Indiana Edited August 5 by dcinmuncie 1 Quote

BigDingus Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I still at home with the game pause for the first 30 minutes. I will be so stressed that I make myself sick. I will occasionally un-pause, skip ahead a bit & see who scored. If it's the Bills, I will rewind & watch the entire drive. If it's the opponents, I will walk around cursing & punching an effigy of Tom Brady. I will repeat this process over & over until the final minutes, to which I will stop watching entirely, get black-out drunk & pass out. Whenever I wake up, I will then squint at my phone (trying not to fully see, but also kinda see) just to check if I have a million texts or not. If I do, I'll know the Bills have won, go back & watch the full game, then spend the entire day reading articles, watching highlights & bragging online. 1 Quote
